I have been waiting to read this book after devouring A Rivalry of Hearts. I have been waiting to hear more from Monty and Daph. This book like the first did not disappoint. I love the magical world that Tessonja has created and I love this low-stakes/cozy fantasy romance that she has created with this series.
I rate this book 4.5 and 2 spice level. The audio book I rate 4.00. (both narrators were engaging in the story).
If you love: cozy fantasy books, friends to lovers, dating lessons, fae bargains, banter, romance columnist x illustrator, and match making then I would recommend this book for you.
What I loved:
Daph truly had my heart when she was first introduced to in A Rivalry of Hearts and I absolutely loved her personality. I love her naive and logical thinking.
Getting to know Monty- I knew Monty had some layers under his chilled exterior but My Feral Romance we get to know more about him and I genuinely loved his character development in the story. I also loved the little things he would do for Daph (going out in the rain).
The romance between these two- I love a friends to lover type of romance and add in Monty trying to help Daph in the marriage circle - we all knew what would be in store for both of them. And the mirror scene....... (I was kicking and screaming!).
New character: Araminta (I was bummed when we did not see Edwina and Will in this story BUT) I was excited that Araminta was included. She is HILARIOUS and just what Daph needed in her life.
I can't wait to continue the series and I am looking forward to the next couple.

Well I loved this even more than the first one! And I’m really picky about friends to lovers. But this was done so well. Monty’s reasons for behaving the way he did were understandable and I loved his character development. And I just adored Daphne. Her neurodivergent struggles were so relatable. The world building of course continues to be just enchanting and immersive. I cannot wait for the next one!
Thanks to the author and Dreamscape media for the ALC.

This was my first book with reading about Faes in a romcom and not in fantasy book and I must say I really enjoyed it. I liked that I could enjoy the world without any danger looming on top of our main character's head. There were some secrets involved which kept me hooked but nothing life threatening dangerous. I loved the personality of Daphne, she was shy, anxious but feisty, normal and not pretentious at the same time. Monty was a total charmer but I liked his background story, it gave his character a lot of depth. Their lessons were full of chemistry. Armenta was such a delight and I cant wait to know her story, I hope the next book is about her, I need to know what happened after that epilogue.

TESSONJA ODETTE, THE WOMAN YOU ARE!!!!!
The way I eat up every single book this woman writes, holy hell. I loved the first book in this series, and this standalone “sequel” set in the same world did not disappoint! Monty and Daphne are adorable and endearing and provide so much good banter. The author always makes sure the conflict in the stories is minimally painful, but masters tension and tenderness in equal measure between her main leads. A beautiful fantasy world, built with intriguing conventions, creatures, and plot points, I highly recommend this cozy, sweet, and in some places very perfectly spicy novel!!! Bonus points for an amazing set of audiobook narrators, with really amazing voices. 4⭐️
*Thank you again to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

There was great banter and pining, but I didn't feel like there was a lot of plot. The conflicts weren't as tough to overcome as in the end they just needed the confidence they got from each other in order to resolve them, it's more character study and relationship development. It was still fun to listen to and the narrators did a great job with the dual POV. Overall I still preferred the first one, it just felt like the relationship was more believable but in this one I just felt like these were the leftover characters that needed to end up together.
Thanks to Netgalley, Tessonja Odette and Dreamscape Media for this ALC that I chose to listen to and review

"I've always had a weakness for worrying over the people who annoy me most."
To say I adored this book would be an understatement! I love Edwina & Monty so flipping much. Both as a couple & as individuals. They literally leapt off the pages & became real to me, The narrators were fantastic and really made the characters come even more alive to me. I was quite forlorn after I binged the book to realise they are in fact only characters in a book, because I so desperately would love to be friends with them. ( This book is such a wonderful balm for the soul when you're feeling weary. I could go on and on but l'll leave it at there for now. I'll be doing a reread again very soon lol!

This book had just the right amount of cosy story telling, romance, spice and fae. As an interconnected standalone I am glad I read the first book to provide me some context for this one.
The story follows Fae Shifter Daphne, a publishing assistant who is given the opportunity to paint/design artwork for her author friend Edwina, but Edwina’s work is very raunchy and Daphne needs some inspiration.
Monty of the other hand has made a name for himself as a match maker, and has been bolstering someone else’s name giving relationship advice, which has been turning more and more risqué. But when he try’s to write his own book with his advice he’s told he needs a case study…
As former co-workers and friends Daphne and Monty strike up a deal to progress both of their careers.

The world that Odette has created brings such joy. I can get lost in it over and over again. I found this book to be what I needed in the transition to winter.

I love this series!! It's so fun, silly, sexy, and unique. I immediately started this one after A Rivalry of Hearts because I NEEDED to know what happened next for Daphne and Monty.
Daphne and Monty were both entertaining characters in the first book but without much background which was fine because they weren't the MCs then, and I just love the direction Tessonja takes for them and getting to see them become fully developed and learn their backstories. She does such a great job at building characters that are fully realized and easy to root for and connect with. Like the first book, our MCs strike a deal that drives the plot but also like our first couple, the genuine care and emotion they feel for each other shines through from beginning to end -- especially the protectiveness. And I love that their relationship has a strong foundation of friendship because it helps them truly become/accept who they are. Honestly, all around great vibes, especially if you like historical fantasy romance with fae, magic, secrets, bargains, and two MCs that are equally FERAL(:
The narrators are the same as for the first audio, Dani Cochrane & Rusty Mewha, and they are just as fantastic as they were then. They really bring each character to life and make them their own. Their voices are perfect for this series: light and entertaining, clear and well-paced, I definitely say 5/5 for narration.
Highly, highly recommend this series and I will definitely be adding all other books by Tessonja Odette to my tbr! (honestly I think they're already on there hehe but I will be bumping them up)
And I absolutely cannot wait for Araminta's story because she's a hoot!!
I listened to and reviewed an ALC from Dreamscape Media via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Such a cute read! This is the second book in Tessonja Odette’s historical romance (gone fantasy) series, aptly titled, “Fae Flings & Corset Strings”. And although this book gives us enough backstory that one could read it without having read the first book in the series, I think you may lose a little of the magic doing so. I mean, our FMC was literally an animal in the first book sooooooo.
Now before you get turned off and don’t want to read this at all- don’t worry, it’s not THAT kind of book. Ew.
Daphne is fae. We learn a lot about the fae in the beginning of the book (more even in book 1) when we get the world building. She’s unseelie, and thus, typically keeps to her natural, animal form. I believe she is a pine marten- but basically, she has a tail in book one and does not in book two and that’s good enough for me. Our MMC is Monty, a dandy and her former boss. Book one lays the groundwork, so again, read it if you haven’t.
Monty and Daph have *EXCELLENT* chemistry and surprisingly complex issues in their characters’ pasts that made for so much more depth than I had anticipated. But the lightheartedness of the fae world and the time period gives it a gaiety and charm that’s so totally unique to the series. Especially in a world so saturated by Bridgerton mania. It’s nice to have a fresh take in the historical romance genre. 4 ⭐️
*audiobook note: if you listen to the two books back to back, you will notice the same voice actors are used. While they change their tones and accents a bit, it was noticeable and I would recommend maybe listening to another book in between to refresh the palette, so to speak
Thank you Dreamscape Media & NetGalley for this arc audiobook, in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Yay for more Monty and Daphne! I adored these to feisty and flirty fae in book one and was so delighted to get their story in book two. This pair certainly had their ups and downs with their misadventures into rigged boxing matches, a royal wedding, and yet another spicy fae deal. I was devastated by their tragic backstories but felt all the warm fuzzies as their bickering turned into friendship, into romance.
Dani Cochrane and Rusty Mewha did a fabulous job bringing these darling characters to life!

I am of two minds on this one. I loved the world and the characters, especially when observations were made between the FMC’s seely and unseely forms. The scene where she was in sleepy form but scampering across her furniture was so easily pictured in my mind.
That said I found the plot kind of dragged a bit and I really had to make myself keep going. I would read more in this world for sure, I think maybe this specific story just might not have been my favorite. The teaser for Ari’s story (sorry audio I have no idea how to spell her name) had me intrigued for sure.
The narrators were decent, no complaints.

I loved every second of this book and it was such a delight to listen to. The narrators do an amazing job and Tessonjas writing is impeccable as always. It's a very light hearted read even if some semi heavy subjects gets brought up but I absolutely loved the romance in this one! I can also relate a lot to Daphne being an artist myself and the struggles she goes through. I am not sure I would do what she did to get myself a permanent reference for drawing xD but I love her personality so much. This world and this setting is so interesting and I really hope she continues with stories here because I want to know even more.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants something more like contemporary romance but still with a dash of fantasy. Who loves something more light hearted and cozy but still spicy and exciting!

Out of the 100 or so books I’ve read in 2024, A Rivalry of Hearts ranks among my top ten. My expectations for this second installment of Fae Flings and Corset Strings: My Feral Romance were sky-high, and I can confidently say that I was NOT disappointed. Tessonja has a true gift, she crafted a beautiful, heartwarming friends-enemies-friends-lovers tale that tugged at my heartstrings.
From the moment Daphne was introduced in book one, I felt an instant connection. She’s awkward, sarcastic, and simply trying to navigate her job and life. Tessonja’s portrayal of Daphne as a confident woman still on her journey of self-discovery while trying do what she loves the most in world warmed my heart. Watching her grow into a confident woman while still embracing her tender, feral spirit was a delight. Her love for the charming Monty is beautifully portrayed; it’s the kind of love that makes your heart swell.
After finishing A Rivalry of Hearts, I was so captivated by Tessonja’s storytelling that I binge-read her other works, especially eager to explore Monty’s backstory in Dream So Wicked. The full-circle moment with Briony and Thorne had me melting—seriously, their vows were pure magic! The banter and tension throughout the story were wonderfully crafted, leading up to a spicy scene that felt entirely organic to Monty and Daphne’s passionate love. I won’t spoil it, but I definitely found myself revisiting that scene; it was pure magic.
While I wished we could have had a scene featuring Edwina and William, Lady Araminta of the Shining Water swooped in to steal the show as the most delightfully delusional eccentric paper sprite. She had me laughing out loud and left me eagerly anticipating her own story.
Monty, oh Monty—he carries a heavy secret, and my heart ached for him as he navigated the jaded feelings left by those he thought loved him. My Feral Romance feels like a love letter to anyone who has ever been manipulated by love or is still waiting to find it. You will feel your spark someday.
A quote that perfectly encapsulates Monty and this beautiful story comes from chapter 14:
“We might fall.”
“We might,” he says. “That’s why I’m holding on to you. I can take you down with me.”
“So we can fall together.”
“Something like that.”
I can’t thank Tessonja and her team enough for giving me the opportunity to read My Feral Romance early. I certainly wasn’t prepared for the happy tears that flowed during the epilogue. This book is a true gem—10/10! 🖤

I fell in love with Tessonja's writing with Rivalry of Hearts, and again with My Feral Romance! This was BRILLIANT. Witty, hilarious, romantic, scandalous and absolutely enchanting. Daphne and Monty are some of my favourite written characters ever! Their story was perfect and their character development was written so well. This is a must read!! The audiobook is absolutely incredible, too!
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC, all of these opinions are my own!

Listening to this book was a really fun romp BUT the narration left a lot to be desired. I found the narration rather off putting. The narrators used accents that were a mix of English and American, and it didn't work. They really needed to pick one or the other and not mix up how words are pronounced. It's a real shame because the story was great! If you can get past the mixed accents I think you might really enjoy this story! Otherwise read instead of listen to this book.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Tessonja Odette for a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

This was a quirky paranormal romance. Loved the fantasy elements and the main characters. It’s a bit silly but you get drawn in. The narrators were wonderful. They did such a fantastic job.
I received a copy from NetGalley and the publisher.

I dove right in to this story after finishing A Rivalry of Hearts! You can read this as a stand-alone, but I enjoyed having some extra background and context from reading My Feral Romance second. I was a little sad Edwina & William did not make an on-page cameo in this book, but they were discussed several times.
It was so fun to return to the cozy fantasy romcom world Tessonja Odette has created! Daphne needs a model for illustrating book covers, and Monty needs a test subject for his dating advice book he wants to publish. They strike a deal to work together and you can guess what happens from there! I love the “He’s Just Not That Into You” vibes this story gave. There are also some secrets and family drama that add some mystery and emotional elements to the story. I’m so excited that Araminta’s book will be next (titled Elegance & Espionage), she was hilarious and unabashedly herself.
Audiobook: Dani Cochrane & Rusty Mewha did a wonderful job bringing Daphne & Monty’s voices off the page. I was a little nervous because I started this book right after book one, and it is the same narrators voicing a different couple. However, the voices were very different and I did not feel like I was listening to Edwina & William from book one!
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me with a copy of the audiobook. This review is voluntary, and all opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ALC of this book; all opinions are my own.
You guys. YOU GUYS.
MONTY "they think I'm a playboy but I will literally cry at my bestie's wedding" PHILLIPS. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH I COULD DIE.
After beginning this series with A Rivalry of Hearts, I knew I would be hooked on any story coming out of this world. I loved Monty and Daphne's interactions in Rivalry, so when they paired up in this amazingly hilarious and reflective romcom to figure out if Monty's dating advice would work on Daphne, I knew I was an instant goner. I loved every interaction between the two of them, and the added tension from Monty watching himself fall for Daphne as she was just trying to figure out how to date a guy lol.
Every interaction between Daphne and Monty from the moment they basically said "f** it" was SO HOT and I really think that the tension of the entire book leading up to that moment was to thank for that. I loved that Daphne was able to get Monty out of his own head long enough to realize that he did indeed have an out from his predicament, and I'm so glad there was such a fun HEA.

A quirky shape shifter fae romance set in Victorian times with a flawed but determined heroine and a secretive but attentive hero. I really enjoyed the witty banter, the salacious flirting and the satisfying ending.
