Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this advanced copy! You can pick up My Feral Romance on December 10, 2024.
Tessonja Odette once again showcases why she's one of the best spicy/cozy romantasy authors out there. I loved A Rivalry of Hearts and knew I'd love My Feral Romance just as much. Despite how wildly different the protagonists are from one book to the next, Tessonja still managers to evoke the same saucy feeling and overall vibe. It's a testament to her voice and writing skills that I can pick up both books in the series and they feel connected but not identical.
Daphne and Monty were the sweetest (and spiciest) friends to lovers ever. I really loved how vulnerable they were with each other (but with no one else) and how we see their friendship progress into something more. The narrators made it feel like I was truly listening to these two characters and getting inside their heads instead of listening to a third party tell the story to me. It was just flawlessly done.
While I would have loved an Edwina and Will cameo, I did appreciate how we met new characters in this story who may or may not go on to have books of their own. I'd read any and all books Tessonja writes in this world and can't wait for more!

Tessonja did it again with giving us such a fun pair of *idiots in love* in this cozy, friends-to-lovers fantasy romcom! Monty, our rakish and witty, self-proclaimed matchmaker is needing his next subject. Meanwhile, our cute, socially awkward pine marten fae shifter, Daphne, needs a model for her painting project. So when these two reunite after an uncomfortable falling out, they realize they can help each other with what they need. The exchange in courtship lessons and modeling sessions quickly rekindles their friendship, but could there be more sizzling under all that yummy tension? Think Bridgerton meets My Fair Lady but in a cozy fantasy world with charming fae shifters.
This was such a sweet and fun read! The narrators did a great job capturing the silliness and also vulnerability of our two MCs. It took a minute for it to get going for me, but as soon as it did, I was hooked and enchanted. I love Monty and Daphne- I enjoyed seeing them grow together and anchor each other in different ways that they didn’t realize they needed. Their kindling romance was oh so sweet with just the right amount of spice. I already loved these two in the first book, and absolutely loved them even more in this book!
This is book 2 in the Fae Flings and Corset Strings series, and you will absolutely find me with the third book as soon as it’s out!
Thank you, Tessonja, for providing an advanced copy for a chance to read and review!!

This is the second book of the series and although I enjoyed it, I didn’t like this one as much as book 1. I loved that this audiobook had 2 narrators (female and male) to voice the different POVs, but I wish they would allow the male narrator to voice the male characters during the female POV. That is my main complaint.
This story is about Daphne and Monty and their challenging relationship. I love the addition of the paper sprite (forgot her name) and the end of the book is definitely set up for a third book in the series to follow her story. I am excited to read, or listen to, book 3.

Tessonja Odette’s stories always hit the perfect balance of fantasy, romance, fun, and tenderness, and this book was no exception. The story follows fae shifter Daphne, a socially awkward artist who needs a model to help her illustrate steamy romance novels, and Monty, a self-proclaimed matchmaker with a knack for meddling in love lives—except this time, it’s his own. Their rekindled friendship becomes something more as painting lessons and flirting tips unravel layers of emotional and physical vulnerability (😈), leaving both wondering if they have the courage to make their connection last.
I love the friends-to-lovers trope, and watching it unfold here was so satisfying. I personally connected with Daphne’s quirks and geekiness—feeling like an outsider is something I can relate to deeply. On the flip side, Monty’s story hit home for me too. Growing up in a place with strict societal rules and the weight of family names felt all too familiar. Like him, moving to a new environment (for me, The Netherlands) gave me the chance to breathe and live more authentically.
The dating lessons trope in this book added so much charm and humor, making their relationship feel natural and heartwarming. Watching these two broken characters peel back their layers and find healing in love was everything. There’s something so beautiful about love born through friendship—it feels real and grounded, and this story nailed that.
I also love how this book empowers women to embrace their sexuality. There’s nothing wrong with exploring that side of yourself, especially with a loving partner who celebrates and supports you. It’s empowering, and just one more reason why I adored this book.
I feel so lucky to have listened to this audiobook before its release—seriously, I’m still pinching myself! Huge thanks to Dreamscape Media, Tessonja Odette, and NetGalley for making this possible.
This story was tender, funny, and sizzling in all the right ways. I can’t wait to read more from this series!

5⭐️s. I knew loved Daphne, but the more I read the more I adored her bacon loving heart. Little did I know I was going to be 100% for Monte also. There are so many good moments. The rain scene is my favorite! Please considered reading. Especially if you’ve read A Rivalry of Hearts. You will find all the wonderful banter, bargains, melt your heart goodness, and so much more.
5⭐️s on the narrations. I loved the vibe both Dani Cochrane and Rusty Mewha gave to Daphne and Monte.
Daphne is working hard to be an illustrator for Edwina’s newest novel. There’s just one problem. She can’t draw men. In her attempts to find someone to be a model, an old friend is back at the office. Monte left rather suddenly and Daphne hasn’t seen him in a year. Here he is offering to help. Monte has a need of his own for his manuscript. He needs Daphne to prove his methods of matchmaking work. Little does he know, Daphne will draw more just his physique. She will draw out a side of Monte he’s been hiding for a long time.
My humble thanks to @tessonja for the advanced reader copy and @dreamscape_media and @netgalley for the advanced listener copy. I feel so honored to be able to help promote this book. #myferalromance #netgalley #netgalleyreader #advancedreadercopy #advancedlistenercopy #arc #bookstagram #audiobook #arivalryofhearts

This book!!!! I have read a lot of romances of all kinds this year- and My Feral Romance is definitely one of the best. The Second installment in the Fae Flings and Corset Strings series, this time it is Monty and Daphne's turn and boy is it fun! I loved being able to listen to the story- the narrators really capture the humor and the insecurity of the characters as both have been hurt before and have their own protective ways that don't really serve them anymore. There is just something about a male main character that doesn't see himself as worthy of love, and yet falls so hard! I get the instinct to run, so I felt so much for Monty. Add to this a Gaslamp Fae setting and you have the perfect ingredients for a romance story you won't be able to pause. The spice is just perfection and well worth waiting for through the slow burn. I didn't think it would be possible to like this book even more than A Rivalry of Hearts! Edwina and William are incredible in their own way (and do make an appearance) but Monty and Daphne take it to the next level. I can't wait for the next book- I love this world and Tessonja Odette is a top notch writer!!!

Thank you NetGalley and Tessonja Odette for the opportunity to read this ARC!
I love the Entangled with Fae series and A Rivalry of Hearts, so I was looking forward to reading the next installment! My Feral Romance follows Daphne and Monty after the events of A Rivalry of Hearts. While reading the previous book isn’t required, it certainly enhances the story. (I would also recommend reading A Dream So Wicked as some of those characters make an appearance!) This is a fun fantasy romance with spice and personal stakes. The banter is fantastic as always, the character development is lovely. Tessonja continues to create the perfect balance of plot and spice, which I really appreciate!
The narrators for this audiobook were fantastic! They both captured Daphne and Monty so well, I really enjoyed listening to them!

A glorious continuation of the "Fae Flings and Corset Strings" series (which can also be read as standalones), we get the story of Monty and Daphne. Daphne and Monty are friends who need each other for different reasons. He needs inspiration for his advice column he is turning into a book and she needs a male model for her art… and a husband to break a bind she is in.
I am newer to reading Tessonja Odette but after reading "A Rivalry of Hearts" just a few months ago, I became obsessed and I was SO excited to see this book was coming out and that Netgalley was offering ARCs. THANK YOU NETGALLEY because you are definitely feeding this obsession and "My Feral Romance" did not let me down. I really enjoyed the first book but I LOVED Daphne and Monty's story. As for the audiobook aspect, I enjoyed the female narrator but struggled to like the male's parts but overall still loved the experience. Tessonja Odette writes her cozy fantasies with some spice and kick to it, so buckle in.

I have been a romance grump for the past few months. I really enjoyed Tessonja Odette's last book, so I wanted to go ahead and give this one a try. To be honest, it took me awhile to get into, but once I did I really enjoyed it. The characters felt distinct and original. They had satisfying individual arcs. The romance itself is a slow burn (my favorite). There is definitely spice, but I would say it is on the tamer side.
This is a perfect listen if you are wanting slight fantasy vibes in a slow burn romance.
Thank you Tessonja Odette, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for my advanced listening copy. My opinions are my own. My Feral Romance is out on December 10th, 2024!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's a wonderful low stakes, cozy adjacent romantic fantasy, with plenty of both plot and smut.
If you've read A Dream So Wicked, or A Rivalry of Hearts, by the same author, you may be wondering how the author could possibly make you root for Monty Phillips, a self styled rake if ever there was one, and yet she manages to do just that!
Tessonja's style of combining banter, tension and comedy makes this book an absolute winner if you're looking for a fun read, that is somehow both comforting and a breath of fresh air!
The fantasy elements take a back seat in this series, but are still worked into the story in beautifully subtle ways, so that while you aren't battling some intense worldbuilding and magic system, you never forget that the female lead is undoubtedly Fae. The references to "snack bacon" were particularly enjoyable, and I loved how this portrayed Daphne's fae side in such a clever way.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
- Slow burn - Cozy w/spice - Fae -
Let me preface this by saying, I did not read A Rivalry of Hearts before reading My Feral Romance. The book synopsis says these can be read as standalone, so I jumped right in. That being said, I was just a little lost at the very beginning of this book. The farther I got I to the book, though, the more I came to really enjoy it. I loved the little quips and banter between the characters. And the one liners expertly placed in the conversions that made me audibly laugh. I thought the narrators did a great job and were easy to listen to. I will definitely be going back and listening/reading more of Tessonja Odette's books.

My Feral Romance by @tessonja is a heartwarming (or maybe heartworming is more apt?), spicy tale of family secrets and fae bargains full of so much spicy tension 🥵 as these friends grow separately and together that will have you laughing over their dialogue and antics, then crying because it's just so beautiful.
This series is quickly coming to be a comfort read for me. Comfort, but make it spicy.
I knew from reading an ARC of this book that I was going to love the audiobook, and oh how I loved it! The narrators were well chosen and reflected Daphne and Monty perfectly! The audio is crisp and clear, and a true joy to listen to. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's somewhat like a fantasy romance comedy version of Bridgerton, in the vibes. If you enjoyed Bridgerton, I think you would love this book (and the series).
📖 I couldn't have loved reading My Feral Romance more. The plot is exquisitely crafted. You get twists and turns, both mental and physical, as well as a very surprising reveal, and so many chuckles along the way.
I love how Tessonja worked in mental health. Highlighting not just how it can impact the individual, but also those close to them.
✍️🏼 Tessonja writes beautifully with rich descriptions and excellent phrasing. It reads smoothly, and flows so well.
The dialogue is witty, actually funny, and fits the characters. It reads as natural.
The bookworm jokes were an excellent addition, and tie-in.
⏳️ I thought the pacing was excellent. Time for development and enrichment, but no lackadaisical meandering or pointless scenes.
🗺 The bulk of world building is in A Rivalry of Hearts, but Tessonja does expand and enrich the world beautifully. With rich descriptions and
🔮 The magic system development and explanation mostly occurs in previous installments, with this book expanding and enriching.
👥 These characters, oh how they have my heart. They're beautifully developed with intricate and interesting backstories, full of personality and nuance. No one could possibly convince me they're not real people, nor would I want anyone to even try. Let me have this, please. 😆
Ari isn't burdened by societal expectations, and I love that so much for her, and for all of us. I couldn't possibly be more excited to get her story.
💞 The friends-to-lovers romance is beautifully done. You're treated to a rekindled friendship that is wild(🦊) fun, but nothing more than good friends helping one another out. Until it's more and that kindling catches fire. 🔥
🌶 The spice is spicy! The tension builds and builds and then 💣. I love the way Tessonja built the tension up, it makes for such a fun read. The scenes are well timed and placed, as well as realistic.
📚 If you like Bridgerton (books or show), any of Tessonja's other books (A Rivalry of Hearts 😍), or the Stay A Spell (Juliette Cross) then I think you would love this.
Many thanks to @tessonjaodette @netgalley for the opportunity to read this eARC and be a member of her team. All opinions expressed are my own.

I think Tessonja Odette is officially an auto buy author for me. Her books are so cozy to read and they put me in the best mood. This book is a cozy romance with the perfect amount of spice. Daphne and Monty have great chemistry and you will be rooting for them from the beginning.

Another delightful entry into this series. As much as I did enjoy the first book, I actually think I liked this one even more. Daphne and Monty as a couple are so much more enjoyable than I thought they would be after the initial introduction to them in the series. Monty is actually quite a bit deeper of a character, and Daphne’s growth into herself without changing who she is was really nice. This series does a great job of balancing some plotlines for each of the main characters with their main romance plotline, with a sprinkling of some side characters like a certain hilarious bookworm. I am normally not a huge fan of miscommunication and I think this book does a great job of having things that neither character knows about the other while still making the conflict something that can’t be solved by a simple conversation, which I enjoyed.
As far as the narration goes, I thought this duo did a great job. The voices worked well together, I really liked the alternating chapters (and how different the two POVs sounded). I particularly found the female narrator to be expressive in a way that really brought out the quirky nature of Daphne, though I also enjoyed the male POV narrator as well.
Can’t wait for book 3!

So thankful to receive an audiobook arc of book 2 in the Fae Flings and Corset Strings series. These audiobooks are pure gold. The narrators bring what is already such a fun, cozy, and deceptively spicy story to life. Daphne and Monty's story starts in A Rivalry of Hearts (so I recommend reading that first) so we already love them going into book 2. It was so fun to watch these two absolute idiots in love (one of my favorite tropes) bumble around their feelings for each other and ignoring their internalized trauma and repressed emotions. Even though this is a historical-like romance set in a fantasy world with fae shifters, the emotions, feelings, and politics/events discussed in the books are very relatable and feel particularly timely with everything going on in the world. Dual narration is the absolute best, and these narrators truly capture the quirky essence of these two lovable characters. Highly recommend this series. This will be one of those series I will reread over and over again.

I fell in love with Daphne and Monty in A Rivalry of Hearts and was so excited to see their story continue! This book did not disappoint! I loved learning more about each character, seeing Daphne come out of her shell and embrace herself, and Monty open up. The pacing of this story, as well as their bargain made for an enchanting, delightful, and fun read that I wholeheartedly enjoyed!
Tessonja does an amazing job of incorporating feelings and emotions into the plot. There is growth from both MC's and witty storytelling with subplots that keep you entertained and the story connected.
One thing I enjoyed about A Rivalry of Hearts and My Feral Romance was the worldbuilding. This fantasy world is unlike any other that I've read before and I was in awe of it in the first book. This book picks up with the world-building from two unique characters that help immerse us into the universe.

I adorned the first book in this interconnected standalone series, so I was surprised to find I loved My Feral Romance even more. I really enjoyed both Daphne and Monty in A Rivalry of Hearts, so I knew I had to read this one after learning they would be the main couple. I’m a huge fan of Daphne’s feisty character including her love of snack bacon. I also appreciated how Odette navigated Daphne’s awkwardness. Daphne and Monty also had great chemistry and banter. The other suprising element of this story for me was how often I ended up laughing out loud. Monty’s advice column is definitely a stand out feature of this book — “perplexed by plural penises” will live rent free in my head for quite some time. I also appreciated that Odette took on the concerns regarding book banner with the modesty committee protests. I combo read this via ebook and audiobook. Both were enjoyable formats. I especially loved the audio with usual dual narrators. Dani Cochrane and Rusty Mewha did incredibly well with the characters. I especially gravitated towards the narration for Daphne since the narrator did so well bringing her character quirks to the forefront. There was just so much energy and emotion in general making it a thoroughly engaging experience. Overall, this book was a pure delight, and I can’t recommend it enough.
