This was a strong concept for the Highland Wolf series, it had that element that I was wanting and enjoyed in this type of book. Terry Spear's has a strong writing style and the characters were everything that I was looking for and enjoyed about this world and setting. It uses the romance element perfectly with the paranormal element that I was hoping for.

This captivating tale is a delicate blend of sweetness, humor, and intrigue. Robert, with his endearingly eccentric personality, experiences a truly charming meet-cute. The story effortlessly incorporates a diverse cast of pack members and newborns from preceding stories. Its seamless flow ensures an enjoyable read, even for those unfamiliar with the series. This beautifully written book is a delightful treat for enthusiasts of heartwarming romances, with Maisie and Robert's chemistry being genuinely believable.

This is a very sweet and light hearted story with a little mystery thrown in. Robert is such a quirky character and he has one of the best cute meets! You have a lot of the other pack members in this story along with the babies arriving from two previous stories. This was a wonderfully written book that you will enjoy, if you love sweet romances. I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Robert, who has just relocated to be closer to his sister and fulfill his dream of opening a vet clinic. However, while out fishing, he ends up catching more than he bargained for. Enter Maisie, who is out diving and unexpectedly finds herself on the other end of a fish hook—talk about an unusual catch! Both Robert and Maisie are shifters, and their instant attraction adds a delightful spark to the narrative.
The plot thickens when Maisie and her sister, who run a cozy bed and breakfast, stumble upon a wallet belonging to one of Maisie's old flames in their garden. To make matters more intriguing, they discover that a beautifully decorated rock from the garden has gone missing. With the mysteries piling up, these two characters must team up, along with their fellow wolf pack, to unravel the problems plaguing their lives.
There are so many fun characters in this series by Terry Spear, and it's always a joy to read about their adventures. If you’re looking for some lighthearted yet engaging reading, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

The Wolf of My Eye by Terry Spear
Highland Wolf series. #8. Paranormal wolf pack shifter romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but many of the characters are from prior books so better read as part of the series.
Robert Campbell moved to the Highlands of Scotland to be near his sister and her husband. He’s opening a new veterinary clinic there and will be able to help the wolf shifters as well since he is also a medical doctor.
There are a lot of traditions in the Highlands and support from others in the pack. When Robert goes fishing and accidentally snags Maisie MacTavish in the arm when she is taking underwater photos, and then his boat overturns, the pack helps to the rescue. Maisie and Robert fall for each other even as they uncover a murder, search for a lost dog, get stranded by the tide coming in and taking photos of local pets, and farm animals. Maisie also takes pregnancy photos for local couples and reciprocates by buying dresses and plaids for special occasions.
It’s a tight knit community and everyone is thrilled for Robert and Maisie. Now they just need to figure out the murderer and they can put that fishing trip behind them.
Family surrounds both Robert and Maisie as the two get to know each other and the community grows closer even as their numbers grow.
The suspense is very light and almost forgotten as family and pets mix and mingle. A couple from a previous book gets married and the full moon adds a bit of surprise.
Heartwarming and inspiring. Domestic tranquility.
3.5
I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

I have been waffling on this book. There are parts I enjoyed and other parts I didn't. Having read and enjoyed many of Terry's Silver Town series, I anticipated I would enjoy this book as well. The beginning was a little rough since I had not read any other books in this series so I needed to figure out the players. Then things picked up with the meet not so cute involving a fish hook and near drowning and I thought yep this book is going to be good. This beginning sequence set the tone in my mind for the rest of the story. Some parts of Robert and Maisie's story was fun and other parts were simply long explanations lacking action. The ripping between Robert and the other wolves was also enjoyable but still did not rise to the level of family in the Silver Town books. This book ended up being 3 - 3.25 stars for me because nothing really set it apart or sparked my interest. At times I felt like I needed to force myself to keep going. Overall, I would recommend Terry Spear and the Silver Town series. I will even go so far as to say if you have read the other books in this series perhaps you will enjoy it more than I did. I will probably shy away from this series in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This is Robert and Maisie’s story. When Robert is out fishing he hooks much more then the fish he expected. Can finding a mate be as simple as throwing your line in the water, no pun intended!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

A beautifully well written tender read.
Robert and Maisie’s shifter love story was fun at times, some action and a mystery that needed to be solved.
We meet lots of the characters from previous books in the series which is always good to revisit and see how their lives are changing.
It did lack a little in the passion and sizzle areas but the tenderness and love which shone through the storyline made up for this.
A wonderful read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Werewolves, romance and murder. This is supposed to be a standalone but I think it lacks some of the world building that probably came with the first books in the series. So I just pieced together in my mind some of the worlds of other werewolf books. This is pretty tame, though.
I loved Robert. He was so strong and sensitive and considerate and tender. I enjoyed Maisie and her sister Anne and their relationship as well as all the pregnant women and family Robert had. With the murder and the mishaps Maisie got into it was kinda ‘pack’-ish in how folks helped out. I gotta I had no problem getting through and staying interested in the book.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I went into this book blind, having not read any other books by Terry Spear and therefore not having read previous Highland Wolf books.
I really struggled with this book for a few reasons, and unfortunately decided not to finish it at around 40%.
My first frustration with the book was the stereotyping of Scotland being quite evident from the start with the names and red hair, the use of 'aye' combined with relatively formal dialogue made it feel quite forced, and then there's the pie "shoppe". It all felt very forced to me, especially when near a description of "grape jelly" - it would be jam here and I've never seen a grape flavour! I must add though that the further I got into the book, this seemed to soften and flow better - maybe it would have been better to have some of these descriptions spread out instead of being so intense in the first chapters.
Those points aside, I found the writing style lacking in descriptions and world building, especially as the book is meant to be able to read as a standalone. The wolves do weapons training (swordfighting specifically) and go fishing - neither are things I would generally associate with werewolves, so I would love to know why! Why swords? (Aside from them being cool?) The wolves seem to have a good connection with dogs, but this doesn't seem to flesh out either.
The characters didn't feel like they had much depth to them, and relationships moved suddenly which felt jarring, as there was no build up or sideways glances etc. The dialogue between characters also felt blunt and didn't flow easily.
My conclusion is that this book definitely wasn't for me, however, reading other titles in the series may help understand the world and may have improved my experience. I would also still try other titles from this author, as her style feels nice and easy to read.

Over all I give this book three stars but in context of the overarching series and in comparison t0 her other works I would say this is 3.5. As this is well into the highland wolf series, it is unlikely that someone unfamiliar would be picking this book up but since they are technically stand alones it's possible someone would read this without the prior knowledge learned in the other books. While I don't think it would be necessary to give full breakdowns of the other books some of the world building around the werewolf mythos that she includes in her world is missing from this book that could be confusing to a first time reader. Specifically that in her world building werewolves who have sex are then mated for life, leaving this out made the build up to them being together sort of awkward and not as clear as in her other books. I do think the side plot of the murder was interesting even though it was essentially clear from the get go who was at fault so there was no real twists, I feel it could have been written less obvious. Over all I felt it was just an okay addition to her repertoire, not the best of her books but not the worst I've read either. Solidly middle ground.

First book I have read by this author and honestly not a fan. I think it was the writing style for me. Very dry, lots of telling rather than showing. Honestly? A couple of times I considered not finishing but did a speed read through and toughed it out. Not a fan.

Another fun Highland Wolf tale. I love the characters and the way they pull together no matter what the occasion.
I've been looking forward to this book since I read the prior book in the series. Unfortunately, this one lagged a bit. Usually, I can't put one of these books down, but this one, at points, just seemed to lag. I'm not sure why, as there was plenty of action, romance, and a unique meet cute.
Fans of the series will enjoy this novel. The author is on my must read authors' list.
