Thank you Netgalley and Hyperion Avenue for this arc.
If you’re a fan of The Golden Girls then you’ll have a great time reading this book. It hits all the marks of the TV show while also standing in its own as a mystery.
There were things I thought could have been done better, but over all I had fun reading it.

I was a huge fan of Golden Girls when I was in college. While I was reading this book, I could see the characters and I could definitely hear their voices. Sophia, Rose, Blanche and Dorothy are all such strong characters, and I think the author did them justice. I found this to be such a cozy/enjoyable mystery and can't wait to read the next one. Thank you to Hyperion Avenue for the advanced read. Opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this digital book! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such a good read for the Golden Girl fans or any fans of a cozy mystery. I love that it was dedicated to those special ladies and it really felt like a story that would actually happen in an episode of the show. The whole time, I was reading the book in their voices, which added a really fun touch. Courage really nailed their personalities, which made this a real treat.
As a huge fan of The Golden Girls, Courage did an amazing job weaving Easter eggs from the actual show into the book. The devoted fans will adore this touch. I admire all of the hard work and research Courage put into this book. The girls would be so proud!

I always enjoy a good cozy mystery, and this one fit the bill. Using the characters from the beloved 80s sitcom The Golden Girls and a silly plot about an official St Olaf wedding being held in Miami, it felt like stepping into an old episode of the TV show. Some of the writing felt a little clunky, but I will happily read the next book in this new series when it releases.

How can you not like a book writen about the Golden Girls? Like....seriously? If you loved the idea just by the title alone, you're already sold and will love all of this.

This book is everything I thought it would be. I RAN TO apply for this. The writing was good - a bit predictable but I wasn’t expecting for my world to be shaken up.
This was a cozy mystery and I think most readers would enjoy it

This was written so perfectly in the tone of the show we know and love. It felt like the author really understood each character and was able to both reference tid-bits about them we already know but also add new things that make sense. The mystery itself was pretty silly but very in vein of a Murder She Wrote episode (which I also love) and it worked for me. I can't wait to see what comes next in the series. Hopefully a Blanche heavy tale.

Gilmore girls and murder mystery….immediately sign me up. Loved this idea immediately and enjoyed the book!

I love this cozy mystery! I also love the fact that the Golden Girls were a part of this mystery. Not giving away any spoilers, but when the girls discover a dead body in the hotel freezer, I was so hooked!
While reading this book, you can see the characters are just like how they are in the show which if you every watched Golden Girls, you will absolutely adore the characters.
The author did a fantastic job of capturing the cozy mystery vibe while staying true to the essence of the characters.

Ok. Who doesn't love the golden girls?
Althought this book was well written and would have been a very cute read if I didn't have to tv show in my head, this book did not do it for me. The writer tried so hard to catch the glory of the show, that she really took away from the story. Too many quips and come backs and snarks. Imon tv this is fine but too much for a book

Murder by Cheesecake by Rachel Ekstrom Courage was a fun, cozy mystery with plenty of charm, especially for fans of The Golden Girls. The references to the classic show added a nostalgic and lighthearted touch that made the book more enjoyable.
The mystery itself was solid, with a few twists that genuinely surprised me toward the end. The buildup was a bit slow at times, but the payoff made it worth sticking with. While the characters and setting were charming, I didn’t find them particularly standout or memorable beyond the fun references.
Overall, this was an enjoyable but not unforgettable read. The twists at the end were the highlight, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy mystery with a dash of Golden Girls flair!

I grew up watching The Golden Girls as a “Mommy & Me” girls night. When I saw that I had the chance to read a book inspired with a twist, I tripped running to request this ARC!
The author has done such an amazing job writing these characters to life. The comedy you find in the show.. their personalities.. and throw in some sleuthing whodunnit. Absolutely LOVED every page of this book.
This book follows The Girls and Rose’s cousin from St. Olaf is getting married in Miami! When Dorothy finds her date not so alive, The Girls get together to solve this funny and twisted mystery.
If you enjoy a nostalgic feel with a little mystery this book is for you!!

This was so adorable. I love the golden girls vibes with the silly humor and everlasting friendship. The mystery was so fun to follow and all the added puns made it that much better!
I’ll definitely follow this series as they come out!

What a fun read, especially for fans of the Golden Girls! As I read, I could hear their voices in my head.
The books stays true to the characters, house, and the things we except from them. They are exactly the same so it was so fun to visit them.
This book is a first in a new series and is a cozy mystery. The story revolved around Rose planning her niece's aka cousin's wedding. The St Olaf expectations are crazy and fun with some laughs for the reader. And there's a murder which the girls have to become involved in.
Just a fun read and I hope we get more in this series.

If you watched Golden Girls growing up like I did, this cozy mystery is for you. It is like the perfect mix of Murder She Wrote and the classic Golden Girls episodes! There was so many little crossovers and references in the show and the book is no different!
It was really fun and easy to read.
It was mainly focused on Rose and prepping the perfect St. Olaf wedding for her niece. I don’t remember a lot about Rose but she was always such a bright sunshine character. Rest in Peace Betty White
There was also a lot of plot following Dorothy, she gets mixed up in it and I felt bad for her but she’s a total badass. She’s a strong smart independent woman and girls should look up to her.
Blanche and Sophia kinda got left behind I felt. Sophia’s attitude and quips were my favourite in the show and there wasn’t that many, and mostly insulting Rose. Blanche was there in image but I also missed all her inappropriate comments, there wasn’t as much.
It did not fully capture the essence of the show in my mind but doesn’t mean it wasn’t good!
Maybe there will be more books and we can see more of the other ladies! Overall I enjoyed this and would read another!

Such a cute cozy take on the Golden Girls. I really enjoyed the story line. Loved our sleuthing of the girls- the writing got to me at times feeling a bit juvenile. Thank you netgalley!

I was really excited when I first started reading this book however as I read chapter after chapter, I just could not get into it. The writing style was juvenile in nature and it felt like I was reading a description of the tv episode rather than a novel of the Golden Girls. Could not finish, did not hold my attention.

I absolutely love the Golden Girls but I was somewhat disappointed in this book. It felt more like a script than a book. Maybe others would like that, it just didn't work for me.

This is perfect for the Golden Girls fan who has seen every episode and wishes there were some more surprises left. The author absolutely nailed these beloved and unforgettable characters. There were times I would have sworn some of the dialog was taken directly from the show. The mystery in this book was also very cozy, and had me guessing the whole time. I loved all the St. Olaf things. I'm anxious to see a book two.

I received an ARC for this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I'll do my best to be honest, but unbiased?? C'mon...it's the Golden Girls!!
It had everything I wanted to love...four sassy senior ladies, who were quite true to their TV personas, with the exception of Rose being rather unlikable. She is organizing a wedding for her cousin-niece (which I imagine makes total sense in St Olaf) but things get out of control when Dorothy's date for the wedding is found in a freezer with the cheesecakes and tuna. (again...probably makes sense in St Olaf.)
It was cute to watch them trying to solve the mystery, and get the cousin-niece hitched...it had all the shenanigans you can expect from an episode of the GG (Sophia going through a doggie-door is a personal favourite.) I did not enjoy the 80's-isms being so heavy handed. I mean, I get it...it takes place in the 80's. I was there, I remember Salon Selectives shampoo and Cyndi Lauper...no need to bash my over the head with it.
I'm sorry, I didn't really care for this cozy, but does get bumped up a star for nostalgia's sake. That said, if there's ever a second book in the series, I will absolutely read it!
