I am reading everything I can find by this author now. The book was well paced and I enjoyed the protagonist very much. Will be looking forward to more in this series.

It is always interesting to begin a series a couple of books in. You need to scramble to make sense of the characters relationships on the fly. And here there are plenty of tangles to unweave. Lydia Corriger is a retired assassin/psychologist who is now friends with Mort Grant, a Seattle police office after they saved each others lives in a previous book. Lydia reopens her practice as a favor for another friend who has a graduate research fellow who needs clinical hours. That leads to involvement with a case of child molestation by a prominent local businessman of his step-daughter. Then Mort's long missing daughter appears on the scene needing a place to hide from drug cartel bosses. Paying attention to that drama kept Lydia from discovering the shenanigans going on in her office. Which would have been a disaster since another police officer was chasing down leads that may have led to the Fixer's identity. In all, a nice twisty mystery. Now, i just need to go and read the other books in this series.

One of my favourite books in one of my favourite series! The Unforgivable Fix brings Mort Grant's daughter crashing into the complicated relationship he has with the Fixer, forcing her to face up to what she owes him while at the same time going up against someone who may just be her match. The usual thrilling pace keeps the story moving, while Woods' writing keeps the pages turning.
