I aboslutely loved the narrator for the Business Trip!
The Business Trip by Jessica Garcia is a captivating thriller that I really enjoyed.
A really unique premise.
Synoposis:
Stephanie and Jasmine have nothing and everything in common. The two women don’t know each other but are on the same plane. Stephanie is on a business trip and Jasmine is fleeing an abusive relationship. After a few days, they text their friends the same exact messages about the same man—the messages becoming stranger and more erratic.
And then the two women vanish. The texts go silent, the red flags go up, and the panic sets in. When Stephanie and Jasmine are each declared missing and in danger, it begs the questions: Who is Trent McCarthy? What did he do to these women— or what did they do to him?
Twist upon twist, layer upon layer, where nothing is as it seems, The Business Trip takes you on a descent into the depths of a mastermind manipulator. But who is playing who?
Absolutely LOVED IT!

This novel! Wow! Definitely a thrilling, twisted, and addicting audiobook. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advanced audiobook copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I am blown away that this is a debut novel. What an excellent book. From start to finish this book kept me interested and had me guessing at each twist. It starts with more of a slow burn feeling and then halfway through really picks up the pace. I enjoyed the alternating character perspectives, they made the audio shine and even easier to listen to. If you enjoy audiobooks with different voices for each character, this is a great one to add to the TBR list.
And of course, that ENDING. Phenomenal, loved it. Just when I thought I had the book figured out, the twists did not stop coming and the ending was one of the more memorable finishes to a book I have read in a long time.
Looking forward to more by this author in the future.

You were warned — don’t talk to strangers.
And, be careful on a plane.
Wow, this took a turn that I was not expecting and I loved that it surprised me! Sometimes I feel jaded and disappointed with how easy it is to guess the big twist or reveal. Not this time.
Two women meet on a flight. One is a news director on her way to a conference and the other is escaping an abusive boyfriend. They have nothing in common. Friendly conversation ensues and the trip passes pleasantly. Nothing, however, will go as planned.
The narrative flips between points of view and the characters are interesting and unique. It was so hard to step away from reading so I found myself forgetting about all the things I really meant to do today and read it in a single session. Lots of drama and the reader is totally drawn in by the activities and behavior of the characters.
I was lucky enough to be able to listen to the audiobook while reading along in the e-book ARC, both provided by the publishers. The talented cast of narrators really brought this story to life with their voices and dramatic flair. It definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the story. Well done.

Two women traveling on the same plane each for different reasons meet. Stephanie and Jasmine have nothing in common. Meeting the same guy, after a few days they both go missing.
Both women keep in contact with friends but as days pass fewer and fewer messages are received. The messages became stranger and stranger. Now friends are worried. Where are they, what’s happened?
Who is this guy they met? Who is Trent McCarthy? Does he have something to do with the disappearance?
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this audio ARC copy for an honest review.

The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia is a mystery thriller with some unexpected twists, especially a jaw dropping ending.
I listened to the audiobook with a full cast, which was excellent.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Two women from different walks of life end up sitting together on a plane. Stephanie is on her way to attend a conference she's not excited about, and Jasmine has finally managed to escape her abusive relationship. The women are similar in appearance but have little else in common. The plane lands and the women go their separate ways, but soon their friends back home start receiving messages from both women about the same man; messages that turn from fun to sinister. Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, The Business Trip takes you on a twisted ride that comes to a surprising conclusion.
The book is told from many points of view, and the audiobook made it easy to follow thanks to the great cast of voice actors. There were elements of this book I enjoyed, but some parts were so far-fetched it was hard to power through. I didn't care for the conclusion, but I applaud Jessie Garcia for creating a story that reads like it came from a seasoned author. Even though I didn't love this one, I would consider reading another of her books in the future.
3.5 Stars.
Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for an ALC of this book!

The Business Trip has a truly unique plot. Reading so many Psychological Thrillers, it feels like there are many common twists and themes, but The Business Trip has a unique story that I really enjoyed! I have to admit, I listened to the audio book twice before writing my review.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so apologies for being vague. Definitely worth reading if you enjoy psychological thrillers. Two women head west on the same flight and a few days later, instead of returning home, they appear to be off starting a new relationship with an amazing man they just met….but are both women starting a relationship with the same man? What in the world is going on? I thought this would be a mundane plot twist and I would walk away from the novel. I couldn’t have been more wrong! I was drawn in and couldn’t stop.
I highly recommend this novel.
The narration was spot on.
Enjoy!

Two women, one man, and a trail of cryptic texts—The Business Trip will make you question everything you think you know about trust.
The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia is an addictive, tightly woven thriller that had me hooked from the first page. It follows two women, Stephanie and Jasmine, who are complete strangers but become connected in the most unsettling way. Stephanie is on a work trip, while Jasmine is fleeing an abusive relationship. Their lives seem worlds apart until they each start sending identical, increasingly erratic texts to their friends about the same man, Trent McCarthy. And then—both women vanish.
The mystery at the heart of this book is masterfully constructed. It's the kind of thriller where you’ll want to scream, ‘Don’t trust him!’ but you’re not sure who the warning is actually for. Garcia keeps the tension high with red herrings, unexpected twists, and just enough clues to keep you on edge without revealing too much. The pacing is relentless in the best way—every chapter adds to the suspense, pulling you deeper into the tangled web of what happened to Stephanie and Jasmine. The characters feel real, flawed, and desperate, which only makes the stakes feel more personal and urgent. Garcia also does a brilliant job of exploring the question: How much can we trust what people tell us, especially when fear and danger are in the mix?
Now, about the audiobook. The full cast narration, featuring Andrew Eiden, Dylan Fitzpatrick, Fred Berman, Gail Shalan, Hillary Huber, Jennifer Pickens, John Pirhalla, Kimberly M. Wetherell, Kirby Heyborne, and Tim Campbell, elevates an already compelling story. Each narrator brings something unique to their character, making the shifts in perspective seamless and immersive. The performances capture the emotional depth and suspense perfectly, and the different voices added a layer of intensity I might have missed in print. It’s a gripping listen that complements Garcia’s sharp storytelling.
In the end, The Business Trip is a well-executed thriller that keeps you guessing until the very last moment. Jessie Garcia weaves a gripping tale of mystery and suspense, anchored by flawed yet relatable characters and a plot full of sharp twists. Whether you’re drawn to stories about psychological intrigue, unpredictable turns, or deeply human struggles, this book has something to offer.
Thanks to Macmillan Audio for providing me with an advance copy for review.

This unique thriller caught me by surprise! The Business Trip is a fast paced story about two very different women who meet on a plane, Stephanie, a career woman and Jasmine, a woman escaping an abusive boyfriend, After this chance meeting, their lives are never the same. Their families and friends receive strange texts from each of the women stating that they have met a man named Trent McCarthy, then both woman go missing.
This was an exciting novel with shocking turns that continued to keep my attention. Sometimes thrillers are predictable, but this had an ending that surprised me so much that I was mad at myself for not paying attention to a major clue.
Thank you Net Galley and Macmillan Audio for the Advanced Reader Copy. I will definitely recommend to all of my reader friends who love a great suspenseful thriller. #NetaGalley #TheBusinessTrip @MacmillanAudio @Macmillan.Audio

Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio fpr the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of The Business Trip. I loved this novel. It had so many twists. I didn't know where the story was headed. I finished it in one day. I just didn't want to stop listening. 5 star from beginning to end! Will definitely be recommending to others.

This book had a lot of points of view. Like, a lot. And while that kind of thing can sometimes make a story feel scattered, I’ll give credit where it’s due, the author actually spent enough time fleshing out each character’s perspective. The downside? With so many POVs, I didn’t feel like I got to build a solid connection with any one character. I found myself jumping around too much to really form those bonds, which made it hard to get fully invested in anyone’s journey.
That said, I did enjoy the complexity of the storylines and how they all wove together. Jessie Garcia clearly put a lot of thought into making sure all the threads eventually crossed paths, and I found myself appreciating how neatly things tied up in the end. It’s one of those books where you have to pay attention, but when all the pieces come together, it feels rewarding.
Still, while the intricate plotting was impressive, some parts of the story stretched believability a little too far. For instance, Jasmine’s ability to transform herself so thoroughly with makeup that she could fool people into thinking she was someone else? A bit much. And then there’s the contradiction in her character, she was ruthless and capable of doing some truly brutal things to others, yet she stayed in a relationship where she let her boyfriend mistreat her. It just didn’t quite add up for me.
This was a smartly crafted, multi-layered read, but the sheer number of characters and occasional unrealistic moments made it harder to fully immerse myself. If you like a book with a lot going on and don’t mind sacrificing deep character connections for a twisty, complex plot, it’s definitely worth a shot. I highly recommend the audiobook as well, because the narrators were fantastic!
Thank you, #NetGalley and #StMartinsPress, for the chance to read this in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to Jessie Garcia, MacMillan Audio, and NetGalley for an advances listener copy of The Business Trip!
4 out of 5 Stars
I really enjoyed the audio of this book. I thought the voices and inflection for each character matched their personalities very well - especially the voices for Trent McCarthy and Jasmine's boyfriend. The author did a great job writing those characters as jerks and the narrators portrayed them absolutely perfectly.
Overall I thought this book was fun, fast-paced, and engaging. There were a lot of characters which can sometimes be hard to follow. Though I did get a few characters confused a handful of times, the story was easy to follow and it was fun to get the perspectives of some of the more colorful characters in the book.
This was a super twisty story. I didn't really know how Jasmine and Stephanie's paths were going to intertwine and when I finally found out how they did, I was shocked at the direction the story took. The storyline was pretty unpredictable, but once I learned what happened so many little pieces and clues fell into place and I wanted to kick myself for not guessing what would happen sooner.

I was not sure about this one after the first couple chapters, but then it picked up and had some pretty major twists that I did not see coming. I ended up thinking about the twists in this one for several days after finishing it!
I recommend this audiobook which is well narrated, especially if you love thrillers with wild twists!

*The Business Trip* was an absolutely gripping thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish! Listening to it during my own trip from Madison to San Diego added an extra layer of suspense. The story expertly weaves together the lives of Stephanie and Jasmine, two women with seemingly nothing in common who become entangled in a chilling mystery.
The twists were masterfully executed—especially the major one I never saw coming! Just when I thought I had it figured out, the story shifted in an entirely new direction. Jessie Garcia crafted a complex narrative full of suspense, manipulation, and psychological depth.
This was a perfect, edge-of-your-seat read (or listen) for anyone who loves unpredictable thrillers. Highly recommend!

3.5 ⭐️
Whoa, this one was a wild ride. I couldn’t stand most of the characters which I’m sure was the author’s intention. I wanted to keep listening to hear how it ended, but the graphic murder scene and crass characters could have been toned down a bit.

In The Business Trip by Jessie Garcia, Stephanie and Jasmine, two women with seemingly separate lives, cross paths in unexpected and chilling ways. When both vanish after sending identical, increasingly disturbing messages about the same man, the mystery deepens: Who is Trent McCarthy, and what dark secrets tie their fates together?
This book was an intense, edge-of-your-seat thriller that kept me hooked from the very first page. The fast-paced storytelling drew me into Jasmine’s desperate attempt to escape her abusive boyfriend, Glenn, and left me breathless as the mystery unraveled. As new characters emerged in part two, the plot thickened, and I found myself eager to uncover what happened to the two missing women. Part three peeled back the layers on Trent, revealing him to be even more vile than I could have imagined. But when part four hit, the story took an unexpected turn that, for me, fell flat.
Without giving too much away, the direction of one character’s arc left me unsatisfied, and the wild ending demanded a significant suspension of disbelief. Still, this debut thriller delivered plenty of twists and compelling moments. Despite some missteps, I enjoyed the ride and look forward to seeing what Jessie Garcia writes next.
I usually love full cast narrations for audiobooks, but I found this one a bit challenging to follow. While each chapter started with the speaker’s name, I still found myself referencing the eARC to keep track of who was talking. With so many narrators involved, it was a bit tricky to stay oriented.
That said, the performances were fantastic, and the narrators truly brought the characters to life. The standout for me was Trent’s narrator, who captured every ounce of his despicable nature with chilling precision. Trent was already a vile character on the page, but the narration elevated him to a whole new level of loathsomeness. Bravo to the cast for their immersive and dynamic work!
Thank you St. Martin’s Press, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for advanced copies in exchange for my honest review:
3.5 stars rounded up

This book was a wild and fun ride! It started off so simple, two women one traveling for work, one leaving a bad relationship and then single man's perspective joined in (he is a jerk!) and I was hooked trying to figure out how they tied together and what happened. I LOVED it since this was such a different thriller than I have read before! There is a full cast of narrators and it was so helpful to have the different voices. This is a must read book, but even more it's one that should be listened to as the audiobook makes the experience even better!
Thank you Macmillan Audio for this book! I think this is the authors debut novel and I will be looking for more books from her in the future!!

This was a solid plot for a debut thriller! I give this 3.5 rounded down because Goodreads doesn’t do partial ratings. While I enjoyed the premise, and the ending, there were some things that didn’t quite work for me.
I felt there were too many POVs, especially at the beginning which led me feeling detached from the story and questioning why it was all necessary. I also felt like some of the twists or plot points were a bit too cheesy. Overall I stayed invested enough to see it through, even though I almost dnf’d halfway in as I wasn’t quite sold.

Wowwwww this was FANTASTIC! I did not want this story to end and I was hooked from the very beginning! I was able to receive an arc of the audiobook of this book and I loved every single second of this story! I’m pretty sure this is the authors debut novel and I need more books from this author IMMEDIATELY! There were sooo many POVs, but honestly, I think the audiobook made it so much fun to hear each narrators voices & POVs! I normally don’t like more than 3 POVs because it can become confusing, but this author did it the best way possible!
If you have the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, I would highly recommend it! Not that the story is not good on its own, but I loved the audiobook sooo much! This story will be stuck in my head for a longgggg time! This is definitely going to be one of my top 10 favorite books ever now! I cannot wait to see what else this author comes up with because I will be first in line!
If you want a super twisty story, drama, suspense, and an ending you will NEVER see coming, then this is the story for you! READ THIS IMMEDIATELY! You will not be disappointed!

This was a good one! I never would have guessed this was Jessie’s debut book. It was well done and the narration was top notch. Full cast narration to boot which was awesome! I did struggle at one in the story early on where there’s so many switches in secondary character’s point of view, that I felt was unnecessary and confusing. But once it switched back to two main characters it was easy to follow. The characters were quite unlikeable, but that made the story interesting. Lots of twists and turns! Did not expect it would have the ending that it did.
I have shared a Bookstagram review of this book which I have linked down below. Thank you for the arc!
