I was excited to discover this book club kit. I love that the book is based on the Nightmare Before Christmas.

-The author interview is enjoyable for readers. Especially for previous Nightmare Before Christmas fans.
-The discussion questions are open-ended, thoughtful, and some are fun such as "Christmas or Halloween?"
-The printable bookmarks are cute and aesthetically pleasing.
-"Food is one of the most exciting parts of a book club meeting and it's always more fun when it's inspired by the book." 100% agree with this and this book club kit makes it so easy to provide themed-food and drink! I liked the addition of pictures for the themed-drinks.
-The activity ideas were fun and themed-appropriately and great suggestions for recommended books!
-The playlist is fun and adds another dimension to book club party planning.

Easily one of the best books ive gotten the opportunity to get my hands on. It captivated me from the very beginning until the last sentence. Listening to it on audio was a bigger treat.

Not a big fan, but before you hold it against me, hear me out, I was sent this ARC by Netgalley, and I was curious, I don’t normally read LGBT simply because I don’t relate? But this one was quite popular so, I went ahead and tried it.
It wasn’t the best written book in my opinion, the characters weren’t half as deep as I’d have liked them to be, and the chemistry almost didn’t exist. The cover’s a beauty tho. Sorry.

These kits seem to have some content warnings listed and links to StoryGraph for the full list of reader-submitted content warnings. I have mixed feelings about this and would prefer all the necessary warnings to be in the kit itself rather than behind a link.

Loved having the author interview and questions for discussing the book right at the beginning. The questions can be a bit spoilery, so maybe don’t read them before or in the middle of reading the book. I know some book clubs have discussions about the book in the middle of reading so maybe the questions could be sorted in a way that there would be some about the beginning of the book, etc, and it would be marked what chapters they’re about? These seem to work well after you’ve finished reading but not so much when you’re in the middle of reading.

The printable bookmarks and the recipes were a nice addition. Once again, I would personally prefer having all the recipes written in the kit instead of having to go through different links. Two of the recipes were actually written down and had nice pictures attached to them and I wish all the recipes were like that.

Loved having the playlist, both as a Spotify link and written down. And the activities seemed fun!

What to read next, about the author and highlighting the author’s other books were a nice addition.

I borrow the audiobook from my public library and loved it so much it might become a yearly listen. This packet provides author interview, activities and recipes related to the author and the book. It's really cute and I might try some of these recipes.
