This very readable account of contagious disease was fascinating. Peters attempts to track the disease to its source and outlines how it spreads. It was a quick read, providing the reader with a story behind the epidemic. This would be a good book for middle schoolers to understand how diseases spread.

This nonfiction work is for teens who are already interested in medical disasters. The information is clear and concise, but won't convert any new fans into learning about epidemics.
