Truly, I’m not a western romance sort of girl. BUT I really wanted to try again especially having seen tattoos on the cover. I enjoyed it. It was fun and cute. A good palate cleanser for someone who reads a lot of horror

Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage is a heartfelt, swoony ride through the wide-open country, full of charm, grit, and second chances. The setting is pure country magic—dusty roads, sunsets, and that small-town warmth that makes you want to stay a while.

What really made this book shine for me was the way Sage writes second chance romance. It’s tender, a little messy, and completely believable. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable, but it’s the emotional layers—history, regret, forgiveness—that truly hit home.

And as a single-parent love story, it absolutely nailed what real love looks like when life is full and complicated. The balance of romance, responsibility, and vulnerability felt genuine and moving. Lyla Sage reminds us that love doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be real.

Maybe it's because Teddy and Gus' story felt like fireworks but this pairing fell a little flat for me at times. I was so excited to see them reuniting and working out the kinks but found myself kind of mad at Cam quite a bit. I know I should be a girl's girl, but it felt like she sabotaged herself so many times. I know she had her reasons but it was so frustrating how reactive she was at times and how Dusty just took it in stride. The only time he stood up to her was the night they stayed at the motel. The third act "breakup" had me pissed but everyone looked her like she was crazy and basically went "go get your man".

Dusty and Riley's budding relationship was adorable and I wish we got a bit more of that in the novel, especially since they're a family now.

Their initial breakup makes sense (although the way it happened kind of sucked). Never give up on your dreams for someone else; it just fills you with resent as time goes on. I was happy that Cam took ownership of her part in the downfall of their relationship and ultimately friendship. But Dusty was right to say that there was never any guarantee for them, especially since they started out so young and wanted very different things.

Overall, I enjoyed this conclusion (I think?) to the Rebel serie s(and now I need to read the first two). Ada and Wes are adorable and I need to read about how he locked it down.

thank you to netgalley for this arc.

Loved, loved, loved this book. Cam and Dusty are the perfect opposites attract, explosive, and romantic couple people look for in their romance novels. Going into this book (having read the three prior novels) I had a strong feeling I would love this pairing. Cam is completely type A and Dusty brings out the playful loving version of her that doesn't seem to be around all the time. I loved the flashbacks that started at the beginning of their young relationship as teenagers and we slowly got more and more glimpses into Cam's upbringing with her strict parents and Dusty's relationship with his that lean towards the opposite upbringing style.
Overall, I think Sage is a fantastic romance writer who knows her characters well enough to make them loved well before they are the features of their own books. Also, the epilogue made me cry! It was such a great ending/wrap up to the rebel blue series. I can't wait to see what she does next.

Honestly best book ever. Lyla Sages’ writing is superior. Her story-telling pulls you into the book. Lyla Sage is an automatic buy author.

This was my first cowboy romance and I'm happy to learn that I'm not missing out on anything. Don't get me wrong, it was good-ish, it just wasn't great. It's a pretty typical single mom, rekindled high school romance, "i bought the house for you" kind of story. It was decent enough, but then it had the last half miscommunication trope and I almost DNF'd. I hate that. I also dislike when one of the characters say the same thing over and over again. In this case, he would call her "Love" over and over. It's so distracting and unnecessary. Overall, I would say that this is a good pallet cleanser, but not something that is going to make you feel...anything.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dial Press Trade for the advance readers copy in exchange for an honest review. These thoughts are my own.

the perfect book to end this series.
i ate it up, once i started i could not put it down!!!

i loved how we got to see Cam and Dusty as teens, where their love first bloomed. Now years later, it seems like fate has brought them back together.

I think this is my favorite book in the whole series.

✨Book Review✨
🤠📿Wild and Wrangled 📿🤠

Synopsis:
🤠Camille Ashwood is looking for a fresh start and, as luck would have it, a house she’s always admired back in her hometown becomes available for rent. Here’s the catch: her old high school flame and first love, Dusty Tucker, is the caretaker of the property. Will these past lovers get a second chance to rediscover what they lost?

My thoughts:
🤔 Of course I loved it! ❤️ I am so sad this was the finale of the series, but this was the perfect conclusion to the series I’ve loved from the start. I am excited for what Lyla Sage has in store next! (Sweetwater Peak)
🤔The dual timelines allowed me to watch Cam and Dusty’s love unfold in both the past and the present. I also really appreciated how the past timeline was told through notes - such a nice touch!
🤔Just like the others in the series, this book had a couple of steamy scenes!!! I definitely blushed a few times while I was reading it!
🤔The bonus epilogue is EVERYTHING!!! It ties everything up just perfectly. ❤️

Read this one if you like….

Reading Wild and Wrangled felt like coming home—and now that I’ve finished it, I don’t know how to say goodbye.

I was so lucky to receive an ARC of this book, but honestly, nothing could’ve prepared me for how deeply I’d feel this final chapter of the Rebel Blue Ranch series. Lyla Sage didn’t just write a second chance romance—she wrote a love story that lives in your bones. Dusty and Cam’s journey was tender, aching, and full of that quiet kind of love that never really leaves, even after years apart.

Dusty is everything. He’s patient, grounded, emotionally in tune, and the kind of man who will love you from a distance if that’s what you need. And Cam? She’s strong in that quiet, self-sacrificing way that so many women are—until she finally realizes she doesn’t have to carry everything alone. Watching her soften and let herself be seen again was such a powerful arc.

Their story wasn’t just about rekindling something—it was about becoming whole, separately and together. Every moment felt earned. Every emotional beat hit. And Lyla’s writing? Gorgeous. She knows how to capture the ache and the joy of real love in a way that’s both poetic and deeply human.

This book felt like a love letter to the whole series. The callbacks, the familiar faces, the feeling of community—it all wrapped around this story like a warm blanket. I laughed, I cried (a lot), and I didn’t want it to end. Truly, I feel honored to have spent time in this world.

If you’ve loved Rebel Blue Ranch, this is the perfect farewell. And if you haven’t started yet—please do. You’re in for something special. Cam and Dusty, you’ll live in my heart rent-free forever.

THIS WAS SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE PERFECTION!! Lyla really has me so emotional during this whole book. Cam & Dusty have my whole heart & this was such an incredible ending to the Rebel Blue Ranch series 💛

Dusty is really making me rethink my stance on blonde men cause THIS MAN WAS PERFECTION 😩 I absolutely loved the dual timeline and getting to see how everything started, where it went wrong & then seeing them years later find their way back to each other was everything. And the notes?? THE NOTES?!! Had me in a puddle 😭

It’s so bittersweet to see this series come to an end & it will always be one of my favorites! Can’t wait to see what Lyla has next for us 🤩

- Cowboy romance
- Second chance
- Friends to lovers
- High school sweethearts
- Single mom

Even if I hadn’t enjoyed this book, “Wild and Wrangled” would have been a five star read for the Emmy update alone. I loved Cam and Dusty’s story and maybe I’m of unpopular opinion, but this book made me love Cam more than I already did.

The final book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series centers around Dusty and Cam. I was excited for their story as they were background characters in the other books. This definitely ended the series on a high note. This a fun series with lots of great chemistry, settings and covers. My favorite will always be Lost and Lassoed, but all were good. Cant wait to see what is next for Lyla Sage

This series is such a pleasant reading experience for me. Once I crack a book open, I lose myself in the writing and characters, their lives, their hearts. It's more than spice and definitely not just fluff. The story includes smart writing, top-tier banter, humor, and an engrossing storyline that is well developed and relatable.

What a beautiful send off for this series! I am normally not one that cries to see a series end, but I definitely teared up reading this one. The way Lyla writes these characters makes them feel so authentic and relatable. I found myself smiling, swooning, and loving every word the entire time. I can't wait to see what she writes next!

What a beautiful finale to this series. Cam and Dusty's story was so emotional - only amplified by the story being brought to life through flashbacks. Their lifelong connection had the reader rooting so hard for this couple. Adding to that, the immersion with the characters in the Ryder family made this story even sweeter.

This final chapter in the Rebel Blue series was so bittersweet. Watching Cam+Dusty fall in love, not once, but twice was so beautiful and nostalgic. I especially love the way that Lyla wine letters and notes from their past into their present day story of healing and finding happiness. The balance of Cam seeking to loosen up a bit and Dusty’s desire to find stability was perfect. After four books of teasing, it was really fun to get to know both of these characters more in depth. It felt like Dusty was a little more flushed out than Cam but overall, I really loved both of their arcs. I also really enjoyed the farewell tour of the entire cast of Rebel Blue woven directly into the story. I’m so sad this was over but enjoy their love story!

do we really need to say goodbye to Rebel Blue Ranch? 😭
this series has been like a hug, and I’ll miss it.

✦ tropes & stuff:
2️⃣ second chance
💜 single mom (daughter Riley)
⌛️ dual timeline
🏠 neighbors/forced proximity
🤠 cowboys/small town
🐢 slow burn
🫶🏼 family + found family
💞 dual 1st person pov

📝 mini blurb:
After being left at the altar, and all of her perfect plans for her daughter’s future going to dust, Cam’s life is turned upside down as she’s left without a direction, or a place to live.

Her dream house is up for rent, so she moves in. Little does she know her new neighbor is none other than Dusty, her first love and her first everything.

They’ve both tried to stay away from each other for far too long, but forced into proximity there’s no denying they’re meant to be.

⭐️: 4.5/5
🌶️: open door, a few descriptive scenes

“I’ll love you until we’re dust in the wind, Camille Ashwood.”

💭 what I loved about this one:
- the author’s note 🥹
- the notes 📝
- their tattoos 🤭
- the dual timeline - being able to see Cam & Dusty fall for each other twice
- Riley 🥹 (Cam’s daughter) - loved her in the previous books, continued to love her in this one
- getting an update on all the couples from the previous books 🥰

🙃 what didn’t quite work for me:
- the 3rd act breakup - it just didn’t make sense to me - I knew Wes calls her out (Cam), but sometimes her actions just bothered me

📖 Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage
📚 book 4 • Rebel Blue Ranch series
💜: contemporary romance

Dusty Tucker the man you are! I absolutely love Dusty and Cam! Dusty is Cam's peace and Cam keeps Dusty steady, they truly compliment each other so well. Also Cam also being an avoidant attachment girlie and getting to see Ada and Wes help her through that was so heartwarming. I love how all the characters are there for each other, everyone in the Ryder clan is truly looked after and cared for and I absolutely adore that! The wrap up of this series was everything I hoped for and more. Getting to read about Emmy & Luke's wedding day just solidified that I am not ready to say goodbye to Rebel Blue.
