Bossman was such a fun ride! Vi Keeland delivers a steamy office romance full of sharp banter, sizzling chemistry, and just the right touch of emotional depth. Chase Parker is the kind of confident, charismatic hero who keeps you hooked, while Reese is smart, relatable, and easy to root for. Their dynamic had me laughing, swooning, and flipping pages late into the night. A solid mix of humor, heart, and heat—perfect for fans of flirty, feel-good romance.

Bossman is everything I want in a contemporary romance—funny, sexy, and surprisingly heartfelt. Vi Keeland absolutely nails the balance between sizzling chemistry and emotional depth in this workplace romance that goes way beyond the usual tropes.
Reese is a strong, relatable heroine with wit and backbone, and Chase Parker? Total book boyfriend material. He's charming, confident, and just the right amount of cocky—but there’s also real vulnerability beneath that smooth surface. Their banter is electric, their tension delicious, and their relationship unfolds in a way that feels natural, even as sparks fly from the very first meeting.
What sets Bossman apart is how effortlessly Keeland weaves humor and heart into a story that could have easily been just another steamy office fling. There’s real emotional weight here, and both characters have backstories that make their connection feel even more meaningful.
It’s a fast-paced, addicting read with laugh-out-loud moments, slow-burn tension, and enough swoon to keep your heart fluttering. If you’re a fan of witty dialogue, spicy romance, and characters who feel like real people, Bossman will definitely hit the spot.
Perfect for fans of Tessa Bailey, Lauren Layne, and Penelope Ward. Vi Keeland proves once again why she’s a queen of modern romance.

Thank you Bloom Books and Vi Keeland for letting me read the ARC via NetGalley.

Tropes: office romance / alpha male / witty banter / forbidden love
I'm working my way into reading more romance books and finding what tropes I like, and after this, I can definitely add "workplace" to my list. I loved the relationship and banter between Reese and Chase. The amount of description that was put into everything in this novel was perfect. I laughed, I cried (a little), I fell in love with Chase, I felt mad for Reese, truly a good read. Also, that epilogue was probably my favorite.
Deducting a little point because I didn't like the c-word being used during a spicy scene and felt off based on the scene.

"What a waste of smooth, shaven legs," Reese thinks while hiding in the bathroom of the restaurant, trying to plan an emergency phone call that will save her from her boring date. Is not exactly a smooth escape what she finds in the dark hallway, but someone who knows a thing or two about shaven legs: Chase Parker, the creator of Divine Wax.
Chase calls her out for trying "the oldest trick in the book," and then, instead of going back to his date and letting Reese do the same, he approaches her at her table as if they were old friends and starts making up fun stories about how they supposedly met in middle school. Suddenly, Reese's boring night turns into an exciting double date.
Once dinner is over, they say goodbye, unaware that this will end up being more than just a funny anecdote between two strangers. Maybe that failed date was meant to be, because fate will bring them together again.
This book made me audibly laugh, their flirty exchanges were funny and witty. I was intrigued from the beginning with their instant chemistry, the element of pretending to be old friends, and how they added other details to the fake relationship through the rest of the book.
Although this is a fun office romance, both main characters have experienced tragedy in their past, which creates a sense of connection between them. While Chase is confident (and cocky), Reese has had negative experiences in past relationships and prefers to be more cautious and take things slow. Their personalities complement each other: "I was the balance to his unsteadiness. He was the courage to my fear."
It was interesting that the chapters from his POV were from seven years ago, almost until the end of the book, and his present-day chapters began when he was ready to move on from his past.
I would have read more of these two characters. It was a very entertaining story.

I regret that I wasn’t able to get to this book before its release, but I’m still interested in reading it when I have time. Thank you for the chance to review!

This was such a fun and easy read! The chemistry between the MMC and FMC was undeniable from the start, even when they were at odds. The MMC might seem a bit arrogant at first, but his witty banter and sweet moments quickly won me over. The FMC was equally captivating—strong, independent, and quick with comebacks.
The romance was fantastic, with plenty of tension, humor, and heart. There’s also a deeper layer to the story, with some serious moments that made it more than just a typical rom-com. The conflict felt real, and I appreciated that it took its time to unfold.

I will say, this is my 3rd book by the author and she has yet to steer me wrong. This book is fun, cute banter, crazy made up stories yet pair two unlikely people together, work together.
Chase seems to be a carefree guy who bailed a poor girl out of a bad date. He took pity and joined her date. But it was memorable for both of them.
I love their chemistry together, it was pulled taut. And when it does happen, not just spice, fireworks goes off. I appreciate that they are very honest and have these cards up all out convo, not all at the same time to clear up miscommunications, but honest enough to move the relationship along.
There is a 3rd act, and it felt his reaction was a bit extreme but glad he hot his head out of his ass and face the music.
I live that the book has great pacing. As a matter of fact, I lamented that the subway had to stop because I want to continue reading. Characters are great, even the supporting ones. Banter is realky where I enjoyed most.
Thank you NetGalley & Bloom Books for the ARC. There’s a deleted chaper that’s a MUST read, and there’s some off screen incident that may be a trigger.

I binge read this book! One night! I had a migraine but it showed up on my kindle and I HAD to read it.

I have been a big fan of Vi Keeland for a while now and I am always happy when I finish her books. She has a way of writing characters that I instantly fall in love and connect with.
Our first interaction with Chase you might think to yourself "This guy is a jerk-off,” but as you continue to
read you begin to fall for him just as our Reece. She may deny it (as may you) at first. He may try to deny his feelings as does Reece but his insistence makes it hard to her to deny. The magnetic attraction is there and it's hard to deny. Finding the perfect job where Chase could be her boss is the problem she's faced with but Chase just won't give up!
"So we're good?
I apologize, you accept?
You're going to kick ass in the interview and get hired, then I'm going to try to get in your pants, and you're not going to let me."
There is a little chase going on during the book but once they "catch" each other, the butterfly's and tummy tumbles begin and last the entire way til the end.
When it comes to a man who will make you swoon - CHASE is it. Chase has it down to a science. He's sexy and sweet, and funny but serious - the complete package! And "Buttercup"...ahh's she's just as captivating as he is. They are like PB & Jelly and Mac-n-Chesse - meant to be -- but with there are some twists and turns and unexpected outcomes but that kept me turning the pages.
ANOTHER phenomenal books by Vi Keeland!

3.5 stars
Overall, this was a fun and easy to binge read. I couldn't help but read it in one sitting! Between the relationship of the main characters and the writing, it worked so well together.
I am on the fence about the serious elements of this novel though. Part of me appreciated the addition of some complex storylines because it added something unexpected and different to this story. However, at the same time, those serious elements also did take away from this book being 'fun' read. Yes, there were still moments that kept the story fun but there was a serious tone that came through intermittently and stayed in the back of my mind throughout.
This could be said for any romance really but readers are either going to love or hate Chase. It's either going to be a "Who IS this man?!" in a positive way or "Who IS this man?!" in disgust. Depends on what you think is attractive personality wise in a person. I would say he was mostly a win for me though.
I have some minor issues with this novel but nothing that can't be looked beyond. It was an enjoyable and entertaining read that for me did its job.
***Thank you to the publisher for supplying me with an e-ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***

Well this was unexpected! I haven't read anything by Vi Keeland before and I will be looking for more. Romantic and great banter and tough topics handed well by the author. This was a quick read and one that I will be sharing with friends who are in the search for a new author.

If you like witty banter, strong characters and a great story. You will enjoy this book. Chase is wow! He goes all in for what he wants. Reese holds her own and can give it right back. "I was the balance to his unsteadiness. He was the courage to my fear." I was hooked from the first chapter.
I think this book is fabulous. I read the original and I have it on Audio. This has some deleted scenes
It does deal with some trauma.

I absolutely love, love this book and characters. Definitely held my attention for start to finish. Will definitely check out more books from this author.

This book was a pleasant surprise.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, as it was a quick read and a good time.

From their very first interaction, I was hooked and loved on Reese and Chase. They had incredible chemistry, even if their first meeting was adversarial. Then, what started as bitter conflict morphed into a playful banter. Suddenly, instead of fighting each other, it seemed like it was Reese and Chase against the world. It took a while for them to take their relationship to the next level. However, that worked well for this story. Readers were gifted with lots of hilarious, flirty dialogue and plenty of build-up. I appreciated the time spent developing the characters and their relationship. When things started to progress, I felt entirely vested in the story. This isn't the type of story that changes your life, it's just pure fun. It's the kind of story that you don't want to put down because it has you laughing uncontrollably and walking around with a huge smile all day. This is also a repeat author for me love her writing style.

Boss Man was a great read that hit some tough topics. Reese and Chase were well written. Both had to learn to trust not only others but themselves. They learned to love and support the other.

This is another 5 ⭐️ read from Vi Keeland and I devoured this in 24 hours. My first book by Vi Keeland was her debut thriller The Unraveling which I randomly picked as my monthly selection from a book box subscription. I kept wondering how this thriller author was so good at writing romance into the novel, and then I found out it was because she was also a romance author. I started her romance backlist and I’ve never looked back.
Vi Keeland has a way of creating so much depth to her characters and the plot with multiple sub plots written in that make the story so relatable and completely immerse the reader. I was immediately obsessed with Chase and his wit, banter, and ability to come up with ridiculous fake stories on the spot.

Have you ever read a book and said oh now that’s my book boyfriend?
And then thought wow what a jerk? Well then yes this one’s for you
and I absolutely loved it. I was drawn in so quickly it was too addictive to stop reading.

This book was a Re-read for me! I loved that it is now Traditionally published! I love Vi work!
This book is simple a great book the characters have depth and the characters romance is everything you want in a workplace romance! I will recommend this book to anyone and everyone! It is a must read!

Loved this book so much!
I actually read this one in the past, and didn't realize it! The chemistry between Reese & Chase is off the charts!
As always, Vi Keeland's book are so great and a top favorite!
Thank you NetGalley & the publishers for the ARC!

Most enjoyable Billionaire romance I’ve read. Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because it really felt more like instalove than a build up. Especially after reading Chase’s bonus chapter.
The good: I loved Chase, and his journey. He had a really hard time (trying not to be too specific) , and made it harder on himself. But he also grew as a character, and learned to accept his grief and move on. His story moved me. I wish we got more from his perspective. He oozes charisma, or rizz as the young people say, but also shows himself to be a realistic character as well.
I laughed at the banter, and my heart broke with Chase’s re-living his trauma.
The banter, and their meet-cute were my absolute favorite thing about the book. We stan a good storyteller (as long as they use their power for good). The spice delivered!
The bad: the insta-love. I’m not a fan of the trope, I’ve always believed that theres no such thing as love at first sight, and that is basically how the author writes them. I’m also not crazy about how Reese realizes at one point that Chase is struggling, and since she doesn’t know how to help she writes him off. That’s not what we do with someone we love.
Overall, I went into this with low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed this. I especially LOVE Chase Parker. He’s a complex mmc. Solid 4 stars, i would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good Billionaire Romance.
