A spread of wannabe-quippy dialogue, between a human having a dream and the monkey he's talking to. Oddly it gets worse when a leopard turns up and the dialogue is actually half-heartedly attributed, because generally it's more effort than it's worth to keep track of who's saying what. There is some kind of point to the various conversations (a crocodile and lion join in the 'fun') but I'd not call this a success. One and a half stars.

Walking With Animals is a novel that is, from the title and the cover that leaves all that empty space for the thought of what this book may be, was quite an interesting read.
This book truly had potential with its metaphorical outlook on the connection between animals and humans, but the execution of the novel did not meet the level of execution that this novel could have reached. The book was unfortunately overall confusing and generally odd. For example, in the beginning, I had to keep rereading the synopsis to understand what the novel was actually about. Additionally, the book being marketed as a “Teens Novel” may be the incorrect way to go. If there was a removal of the section about childbirth, the novel may do better as a Children’s book. (This is coming from a teen).
However, I appreciated the level of depth this book was able to reach within simply a few pages. Someone who is completely obsessed with nature may find their way to this book, and could actually enjoy it.
Overall, while the story was promising, the way it was written didn’t quite deliver. Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

I-what? This book was...weird. To say the absolute least. Going into it, I thought that this was a kids' book.
Boy was I wrong.
Since this book only earned a one-star rating from me, I will keep this short and sweet.
- I feel like this book was *intended* to be funny, and it wasn't. At least to me. I didn't laugh or smile once.
- This book didn't have a clear or specific premise or point. Put simply, I don't understand the *why* of the author writing this book.
- In my opinion, this book was boring. It was short, but I was still just not entertained by this book.
- The white space. There was so much white space that it actually almost made me feel uncomfortable and unsettled.
- All in all, I just really didn't like this book and I was left feeling off and confused.

That's all.

That was the weirdest book I’ve ever read lol. The way it is written out, it is kind of hard to follow. Maybe it’ll look different on the actual book. What I read had no illustrations and was just pages of text. Sometimes separate line by line, sometimes two different people/animals talking on the same line. It was confusing. But I did like it at the end he just had to pee.🤣
