Fun, swoony and quite steamy!

Melody was a well thought out, relatable character. It was a pleasure to witness her grow out of her unsureness and discover the things that she truly desired. Zac, from the moment we meet him…swoony as ever. Time and time again, he showed up and showed out. He could write his own book on yearning.

The story was easy to follow, the main characters were well-developed, and a few of the secondary characters even had me in my feels. (The football player he had staying with him? Too. CUTE.)

It could’ve used a little condensing, as some of the main characters inner thoughts got repetitive, and I would've liked to see a bigger moment for Melody when getting closure with her ex, but these are minor complaints.

Overall an entertaining, enjoyable, trope-filled, sports romance read.

Zac is now one of my favorite book boyfriends. That man is head over heels for Melody. This book had me giddy!! If you’re looking for a reverse grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity, he never gave up hope book, this is the one for you! I loved every second of Only in Your Dreams!
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from Atria books via NetGalley!

I feel like men in romance books have to be willing to throw a punch in order to be considered “strong” and “manly”. Unfortunately, this theme is prevalent in this novel. The MMC has a hard time controlling his emotions and frequently has to restrain himself from getting violent, even with friends, if they come into any kind of contact with the FMC. It’s more annoying than cute, in my opinion.

In the beginning, I enjoyed the aspect of Melody and Zac’s relationship, especially the camping trip, but then the reasons why they couldn’t be together became silly and childish. I feel like this book could’ve been 100 pages shorter in order for the conflict to be less drawn out and repetitive.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Atria Marketing for an advanced copy of this book.

I absolutely loved the mix between plot and spice on this book. I had so much fun enjoying their love story. I do feel the story was a little long for what was given.

This is my first book of Ellie K Wilde's but it definitely won't be my last. This was a fun, easy read, rom com that will have you hooked in quickly. I fell in love with Melody and Zac's characters. I'm also not one for "second change romances" usually so I was a bit skeptical but the way Ellie K Wilde wrote her storyline, I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

It has been a while since a Romcom has made me grin and giggle but this one had me doing that a lot. It also hit home on a lot when speaking about our FMC relationship when she comes to the realization of how her ex boyfriend of 6 years treated her once she returns home.
Only in Your Dreams is a second chance romance with our FMC twin brothers best friend. It is also a football/sports romance.
In the beginning of the book we find our main characrters as teenagers. They have a moment were they find themselves in a vulnerable spot. Cut to the next chapter being 10 years down the line and now Melody is returning back home after a split from her boyfriend, who has broken things off with her when he is off on a boy trip. Zac is still there back at home. She dreads on seeing him and now he is the Coach of the college football team.
I really loved Zac’s character. To others they describe him as Grumpy. But he is that cinnamon roll character to our FMC that we just love.
Melody has that character devlopment that we need as she realizes the kind of relationship she is coming out of.
I really enjoyed this book overall and I really cant wait to see the other side characters books come out and become the main characters becuase I think I will love them equally just as much as I loved Only in Your Dreams!

This was a quick read! I felt like it could have been a tad shorter- kind of dragged on- but I enjoyed the characters! Would definitely read another one with Parker, summer, and brooks.

I know a sports romance hates to see me coming!!!

This was EVERYTHING I ever needed from a book. Sports. Second chance. Personal growth. Spice. Family. It was EVERY. THING.

Melody was so special to me because I related to her in so many unfortunate ways. I’m so glad she had her people to help her through the darkness and to see the light.

Zac…what can I say about this man that will accurately describe how I feel? I don’t think there’s words. This man is the DEFINITION of down bad and I loved every second of his time on the pages.

God, I can’t wait to have a physical copy of this and shove it in everyone’s faces because truly, this was one of the best books I read all year!!!

And that SPICE!? MY LORD. I needed multiple cold showers. Especially after that bar scene 🥵 iykyk

Thank you so much to Atria for the ARC of this AMAZING book! 🥹🫶🏻

I really enjoyed how this was, but both people finding themselves as well as the rekindling of friendship and eventually a relationship. I did feel like there were some sides stories I made this longer than it had to be, I definitely felt the length of this book, but I still enjoyed it. overall fun and cute with some more serious themes throughout.

This is a 3.5 rounded up for me. I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the two leads; I believed in their backstory and could feel the tension between them from the start. My main issue is with Zac's complete obsession with Melody - you're telling me for ten years he hasn't looked at anyone else?? That stretched believability to a degree that was a little tough for me. I would have preferred if they had both been off doing their own things and came back together when the timing was right.

Overall, it's a super fun read. It's very spicy! But it's a sweet little HEA.

I really enjoyed this! It was such a nice fluffy romance.

It did pain me a little that they could've resolved their issues with a very brief discussion to clarify how they were feeling... but I had a good time so all is forgiven!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

3 stars

Maybe it just wasn’t my cup of tea - this felt very YA to me (not a bad thing but just wasn’t advertised as such). Overall it was a good cute story but was very very long for what it was (400+ pages) and there were many scenes that didn’t really feel necessary. Looking at the series, wondering if she included a lot of the side character storylines unnecessarily? Also I realized maybe I’m just not into “sports romance” lol

This book gave me ALL the feels!

Our FMC has had a crush on her twin brothers best friend since he moved to town at 14. But before she moves away to college, she asks for a kiss - and instead of doing it, he leaves her and tells her to wait for him, only he never comes back. 10 years and no communications later, she has been dumped by her boyfriend of 6 years, moved back to her small football town from the big city, and is living with her brother until she can get back on her feet. And the more time she spends away from her ex-the more she is learning exactly how he manipulated and abused her into a different person. So needing a break her brother tells her to take his spot on a friends camping trip - only problem is our MMC, his old best friend is there too. Our MMC is the coach of the college football team, but not necessarily by choice or merit, the team has been on a years long losing streak and he has been thrown to the fire to see if he can change it. He has also been avoiding life since the girl he has always loved moved away. But when she shows up instead of her brother and is now forced to share a tent with him, he devises the plan that he is going to make up for his past mistakes and win her back.

I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to see how the rest of the series plays out! This book had a lot of my favorite tropes (second chance, best friend’s sibling. Grumpy sunshine) and I thought they were all done really well. There was a perfect amount of spice, which didn’t take away from the plot, which was great. I was so annoyed with Parker but ended up liking him and can’t wait for his book. The only thing I didn’t like was that they went ten years with no contact, my heart 😭.
I thought bought main characters were likeable!

Cute but there was absolutely no reason for this to be 400+ pages long.

Zac’s entire personality revolved around Melody (🚩) and overall his character was super unrealistic. Like who builds their high school crush’s dream home just in case they might see them again after 10 years? His golden retriever energy sometimes leaned a little too close to creepy stalker energy imo.

And Melody’s whole character arc is that she is learning to recognize manipulation and signs of love bombing from her previous relationship and she doesn’t see how intense some of Zac’s behavior is???

To top it all off, the major plot point that the entire book revolves around is the lamest miscommunication ever :/

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review!

I absolutely loved this book! The FMC, Melody, was so funny and relatable and who doesn’t love a pining and obsessed MMC? This book had it all - forced proximity, one tent/bed, brothers best friend, fake dating, sports, small town feel, a found family with in the friend group, a small incident with a chipmunk, and slow burn spice with a huge payoff! This book a great read! It is fast paced with 10/10 spice and banter!

Only in Your Dreams was SUCH a fun and swoon worthy read! Zac is the ultimate dream guy: confident, loyal, and completely in love with Melody. The brother’s best friend and second-chance romance tropes were done really well, and I appreciated how Zac always supported Melody while she worked on rebuilding her confidence. Their chemistry was GREAT (with the perfect amount of spice), and I was rooting for them the entire way. The middle part of the book felt a little slow, but the characters (even side characters) made it worth it. I’m so excited to read more of this series. If you love romance with spice and heart, you’ll really like this one!

This romance was stunning and gave you all the feels. The characters felt realistic and you wanted to know all the nitty gritty details of their relationship. The novel gave you a beautiful rom-com feel that didn't feel too cliche!
