In Walking Home, Sonia Choquette takes readers on a deeply personal journey of healing, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal. After facing a series of devastating life events, including the unexpected deaths of loved ones and the dissolution of her marriage, Choquette, a renowned intuitive and spiritual guide, embarks on the ancient Camino de Santiago pilgrimage to regain her balance and find clarity.
The narrative is both raw and transformative as Choquette chronicles her 800-kilometer journey across northern Spain. She shares her struggles with physical exhaustion, emotional vulnerability, and the intense moments of personal reckoning that come with such an arduous pilgrimage. Along the way, she learns to shed her pride and anger, embracing humility and forgiveness as keys to healing.
What makes Walking Home stand out is its blend of spiritual wisdom and candid personal reflection. The book not only recounts Choquette’s physical journey but also serves as a powerful metaphor for the spiritual paths we all must walk when faced with hardship. Her insights on relationships, self-discovery, and the importance of letting go of resentment are universal and deeply moving.
While the book is inspiring and offers valuable lessons, it can feel repetitive at times, particularly for readers already familiar with spiritual teachings and pilgrimage narratives. However, for those looking for a raw and heartfelt account of personal transformation, Walking Home offers a compelling read. It’s a reminder that even in our darkest moments, healing and grace are possible, and that the path to forgiveness and freedom can often be found through humility and self-compassion.

This book could have been good but it didn't resonate with me. I know many people have related well to the author. I enjoyed reading about her journey in a physical sense (something I really want to do someday) but spiritually and mentally it didn't do it for me.
