I want to thank NetGalley and Atria books for providing me with an egalley of this book to read and give an honest review, The opinions expressed here are my own.
I've heard many good things about KA Tucker. I even had the chance to have dinner with her during BEA. But I never got to read her books. Why did I wait so long?
The idea of memory forgotten and a woman who refuses to identify as only a Jane Doe gripped me. She uses every clue to pull together her identity. Every character leant this story something new and significant. It was easy to connect with them, easy to relate to them, and, most importantly, easy to have empathy for them. Characters who are fleshed out are the most important part of a story to me. Each character, primary or secondary, had depth. If the author can help me understand the characters, help me feel a pull to them, help me want to know why their story is important, than all other things fall into place. I also enjoyed the romance. There was a rawness to it as well as times when I was just about sure it would not work.
The pacing of this story was spot on. The then and now format was easy to follow and loved how each then and now gave clues along the way helping you pull the story together. Tucker's writing is great.
I enjoyed the plot, with the then and now really lending to understanding it. I will say I kind of saw what was coming from the very beginning but, in all honesty, that did not take away from my enjoyment of the story line.
Overall, I enjoyed this read and I'm happy I dove into KA Tucker's world.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

Burying Water by K.A. Tucker sabotaged itself at the very beginning of the book by revealing a major spoiler about the book's ending. I don't enjoy reading a book that forces you to wait and wait for the characters to catch up with what you already know. It's just not fun or enjoyable. I will not be continuing with the series.

I want to love K.A. Tucker books. She is the type of author all my friends rave about and adore but for the life of me I cannot get into her stories. I started with the Ten Tiny Breaths series and fizzled out after book 2. I figured maybe it was just the series, so I'd give Burying Water a try. But after so long of trying to start and stop this story, it's finally time to admit, it's me, not K.A. Tucker. We just aren't meant to be and that's okay.

Burying Water was just WOW! Bursting with emotion and feeling. This is a story that straddles the line between past and present, for without one there cannot be the other, and the past was pivotal in allowing us to relive their love not only once but twice. I can't put to words how this book made me feel, I was a mess of emotions, and to live through what they lived through made the ending all the more sweeter. It was beautiful in its sorrow and anguish, their second chance at a happily ever after was everything. It's a book you have to experience on your own, for my words won't do it any justice. K.A. Tucker's books have always full of emotion and thought, it is not just a book you read but one you feel. Highly recommended for my New Adult lover friends out there.
