Ex -military buddies agree to help guide a photographic expedition into Tibet but discover it is really a CIA weapons smuggling venture with a potential nuclear war head. Thereafter the characters run for their lives through goat trails, bawdy houses, stinking ship holds and otherwise perilous paths. End the end the bad guys are eliminated and the final survivor rides off into the Arizona sunset with his love-hate girlfriend. The novel has all the gore, sexual encounters, and mayhem one would expect but it is loosely put together as if the writer was in a great hurry to hurry or escape from his own danger. It doesn’t live up to the hype.

I was provided with an electronic copy in return for an honest review.

An American and his friends are in the Himalayas. They are with a group of natives carrying supplies to Tibet. After an accident of horses and men falling over a cliff, they discover the supplies are actually nuclear weapons. They are running for their lives because of what is discovered. One of the American men is in a race for his life. He is captured, escapes and is captured again. He does not know who is friend or foe. Will he survive?
This is a highly adventurous read. Lots of surprises.

After reading Snow which I really enjoyed, I decided to read Tibetan Cross by the same author. Fifty pages later, I knew I could not finish this convoluted story. Too much unbelievable action and no connection with the characters.

Mandevilla Press and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Tibetan Cross. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

After seeing so many positive reviews of this book, I was excited to read Tibetan Cross by author Mike Bond. Tibetan Cross should have been compelling, if the book summary is to be believed, but it just did not come together. With a thin plot and little character development, the novel was all action with no substance.

Main character Sam Cohen is on the run and trying to avenge the death of his friend. He gets himself into situations along the way, narrowly escaping his foes in his dogged pursuit for the truth. As Sam travels from place to place, the names change but the story never does. The author drops Sam Cohen into the action, but never really gives him an anchor to the setting or the plot. I had to struggle to finish Tibetan Cross and, for the reasons listed above, I would not be able to recommend it to other readers.
