This was such a sweet book about going after your dreams even if others think they are farfetched. Tabi dreams of playing the role of a famous princess from her childhood and finally gets a chance to work at the theme park where the character resides. Through trial, error, many dance step practices and finding support in those who turn into true friends and true love, she manages to achieve her dream and so much more! I loved this story so much and would highly recommend it to anyone that could use a cozy tale with a dash of magic.

What girl doesn't dream of being a princess? Or at least to pretend to be one in a major theme park? That's what Tabi has set out to be, even though she doesn't fit the mold of what a princess should look like. She is determined and works daily to improve herself to reach her goal and prove that a princess has to do more with the heart than with outside appearances.

I loved that theme park setting for this book and the sweet, funny love interests! This story felt fresh, yet overdue - where has this book been?!

Thank you NetGalley and Feiwel and Friends for an advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review. What a fun graphic novel! The illustrations were so beautifully done and immersive. I loved the nods to Disney with also keeping it creative; I’m so impressed with the world that Meyer created! This was a sweet love story and I also enjoyed the coming of age/identity exploration aspects of the story as well.

This was a sweet book! I love Marissa Meyers, and I enjoyed this graphic novel. It was a cute story, and I really liked the art style.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for this arc!

This one is for the Disney Land/World aficionados. I have friends who have done the summer Disney World internship like our protagonist, Tabi, does in this novel, and I could see them totally appreciating this.
Marissa Meyer’s story is sweet, empowering, uplifting, and of course, even a little romantic. Joelle Murray’s art work is where it’s at. I need to find more of her work because it is so visually striking (I adore it). The art style is cute, and her choice of pastel colors is very whimsical and calming—especially the scenes during the park’s after hours, which recall the colors of twilight (GOLDEN HOUR).
Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group | Feiwel & Friends, Marissa Meyer, and Joelle Murray for this free, advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
We Could Be Magic will be published June 3, 2025.

This was such an amazing story and one that I feel that everyone can relate to in some way! Through the dialogue and imagery, the hopes and dreams of the FMC are made clear. Despite her passion and dedication, she struggles to be accepted due to her body. However, her enthusiasm and pride in herself win out and she's able to live out her dream. The side characters felt realistic as well and the FMCs friends felt like true friends that I would love to have IRL.
We Could Be Magic is such a wholesome story that addresses the highs and lows of real world experiences and struggles!

This read was such a delightful and charming experience! I really enjoy a good cozy romance. The story is packed with hope, big dreams, and the journey of embracing who you are. The artwork is fantastic—whimsical and captivating, perfect for teens and young adults alike. Tabi does a great job of blending her childhood fantasies with the realities of working at a theme park, giving us a fun behind-the-scenes look at this magical world. It's short, sweet, and surprisingly powerful!

This was such a fun and cute read! I am a huge fan of Marissa Meyer, so I was so excited to dive right into this graphic novel. I'm not a huge graphic novel reader, but this book was so fun! The art style was a little different from others I've read, so it took a minute to get used to, but I really liked the art overall. The story was really fun, and I loved the characters. I wish it was a little longer--the story felt a little too short and fast, but I still loved it!

I've loved Marissa Meyer since her Lunar Chronicles series and (as a Disney cast member), when I saw she was coming out with a graphic novel about a plus-size girl whose lifelong dream is to play a princess at a popular theme park? I knew I had to read it. This was just so wholesome and sweet and everything that you could want from a graphic novel. I loved the art and the characters, and just had such a good time reading this.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the e-arc!

I love a good cozy romance of two quirky characters you just have to love! This story is full of hope, big dreams, and embracing yourself. I was completely charmed!

This was sooooo cute. I loved seeing her dream to be a princess come true. The art style is so pretty. I kind of wish it was a little bit longer though.
I received an arc through netgalley.

This was perfection. The art, the story, all of it! I would love everyone to read this and see that your dreams can come true. You can be the princess, you can have the happily ever after.

We Could be Magic is a cozy romance promoting body positivity. The characters are nothing new, but their somewhere privileged lives are a nice escape for the reader. Characters are compelling enough to keep readers invested, but not complex enough to warrant high stakes that may build tension.

Tabi grew up watching her parents grow apart, the magic of Sommerland and its movies where love conquers all became her guiding star. One summer she lands an internship at the park and is determined to play her favorite princess, despite not fitting the mold. Her love for the park and her enthusiasm and care inspire more than she would ever imagine. And with the help of her own prince charming, she makes her dreams come true.
We Could Be Magic is such a fun read. The art is fabulous, whimsical yet captivating for teens and young adults. Tabi balances her childhood fantasies with the reality of working at a theme park and it’s a wonderful slice of life of behind the scenes at the dreamiest place on earth. Gabi has all the struggles you’d assume working at a theme park but her dream to be a character comes with its own set of struggles. It’s a beautiful story of self-acceptance and never giving up with perfectly swoony moments. Short, sweet, and quietly powerful.
Thank you to NetGalley, FierceReads, and Marissa Meyer for an e-copy of this book for review.

This was sweet and full of charm, but I don’t think I was the target audience—and that’s okay! We Could Be Magic feels like a warm hug for younger teens who are still figuring out where they belong and want a sprinkle of summer romance and sparkly theme park magic. The art is adorable, the message is important, and I can totally see this resonating deeply with the right reader. But for me, it leaned a little too young and a bit too surface-level emotionally to really stick. A lovely story—just not one that fully hit home for where I’m at.

Thank you to Netgalley and Feiwel & Friends for providing me an arc in exchange for an honest review.
But why was this sooo cute?!
I really loved Tabi. She was such a sweet, strong character that just wanted to follow her dream and her self doubt was so real. She was so adorably naive, but in the best kind of, believing in magic sort of way. She worked hard and was really dedicated to making her dream come true.
And I adored James from the start. The only other person that really believed in the magic like Tabi did. To everyone else it was just a job, but to the two of them it was really everything. And I absolutely loved that they fell for each other because they’re so cute together and he was so encouraging, even though he did try and downplay the royals. Turns out, he had a reason to. And that first kiss? Magic.
Kyra completely grew on me, and I really liked her by the end. She was a mean girl at the beginning, but she really became such a good friend and strong support system for Tabi. And I think the costume guy is underrated, he was great! He didn’t question anything and supported her too.
Overall, I loved this story. It was so cute, but also so real. And I really liked the message it sends; everyone is beautiful no matter what size they are.

This was a sweet and light-hearted read. Great for representation and showing that there is no single look to being a princess, as well as the value of kindness and hard work to making your dreams happen.

“I knew that little girl. I was that little girl.”
This fast paced graphic novel mostly follows Tabi and her hopes of making magic at her dream summer job: Sommerland! After seeing her parents love come to a conclusion she decided from that point on to keep her hopes of true love alive. What better place to do that than at Sommerland where love and magic is the theme of every single story! I really liked how the author portrayed Tabi’s highs and lows trying to figure out how to keep the magic alive and follow her dreams! No matter what she was determined.
The little romance between Tabi and James was so wholesome and cute! I think the author did a great job of portraying body positivity! I also really loved the art!!
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC copy!

This was very cute and heartwarming. I did not realize that this was a graphic novel. This really helped keep me interested and actually seeing the story come to life as the book went on. I loved the main FMC and her attitude towards life. If you are looking for a cute YA graphic novel, this one is for you.
