Thank you NetGalley, RBMedia and Katie Holt for allowing me access to this ALC in exchange of my honest opinion!
Not in My Book is a contemporary romance and will be released on Dec 10th.
Rosie, a passionate aspiring writer, moves to New York to chase her dreams but ends up clashing with her ex-crush, Aiden, in a writing class. Forced to co-write a novel blending their opposing genres, they pour pieces of themselves into their unexpectedly steamy story. As their feelings deepen, their rivalry resurfaces when they compete for a career-changing opportunity. Now, they must decide whether to let competition win or rewrite their story together.
Narrator: I wished the narrator would have changed her voice a bit more for the mmc's voice because I did not follow well when it was his turn to speak.
Overall, Not in My Book is a good debut, I just had a bit more expectations. The characters were just too mean (too enemies) at the beginning, and the switch to lovers went way too quickly/weirdly. It was not smooth and natural.

I love an academic rivals to lovers story and its set in new york which gives this extra points!! This reminded me so much of the og romcoms from a few years ago! The little snippets from their book added a unique touch. I really liked both mcs and Aiden being down bad for Rosie since the beginning but not being able to tell her was soo good!! Watching them pour their feelings into their „fake“ story, the book they were assigned to write together while pretending it wasn’t about each other made it all the more compelling. The tension, the witty banter, how they protected each other in some scenes and the way they slowly opened up to one another and eventually talked about their book and their feelings was really wholesome. They could’ve been "enemies" a bit longer if it was up to me and I really didn‘t like the ending tbh. The narration was so good! She gave each character their own voice and portrayed the feelings perfectly! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the early access audiobook.

I loved this audiobook production so much, the narrator did a great job with the different voices and conveying the tension and rivalry in the book. I was hooked on the story and everything going on with both main characters. This is a single narration and audiobook lovers will enjoy this one.
The plot of the book was also a very good one and enhanced more by the narrator. We have the two main characters Aiden and Rosie who are rival writers. Rosie loves and writes romance while Aiden hates romance and writes fiction. They disrupt their creative writing class so much the professor tells them that either they have to work together or quit the course so they start co-writing a novel together. As they write this novel which is basically about them lol they start spending time together and going out on fake dates for the book there’s a bit of attraction going on despite the rivalry.

If you like any of the tropes below then you need to pick up this audiobook on December 10th:

- Enemies to lovers
- Writing rivals
- Co writing partners
- Steamy scenes
- Peruvian fmc
- Dates at bookshops

I wasn’t a fan of the narrator at the beginning of the book but as the story went on they grew on me. The story is a witty romcom full of banter with enemies to lovers.
Both main character are in a writing class and they have hated each other since they met but the teacher decided that they needed to be partners in a writing exercise, but she only reads and writes romance stories and he doesn’t believe in love. They work together constructing their story as they slowly grow together as a couple until one moves too far and the other fears that they just playing along for the story and runs. After realizing their feeling for each other they slowly let their guards down when they’re around each other.
