Amy Daws' *Nine Month Contract* is a hilarious and heartwarming grumpy/sunshine romance that delivers all the feels. This audiobook, which I paired with a physical copy, was an absolute delight! Daws has crafted a story that's both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply emotional, making it a perfect pick for fans of Meghan Quinn and Tessa Bailey.

Wyatt, a grumpy mountain man, finds himself in need of a surrogate, and his meddling brothers take matters into their own hands by posting a rather unconventional "help wanted" ad. Enter Trista, a quirky and vibrant woman who answers the call. From the moment they meet, their chemistry is undeniable.

Trista is an absolute gem of a character. Her inner monologue is a riot, filled with relatable thoughts and hilarious observations. Her love for animals, which leads to a delightful menagerie at Wyatt's mountain home, adds another layer of charm to her personality. And her "I'm a cow" mantra? Pure comedic gold! I found myself laughing on nearly every page.

Wyatt, despite his gruff exterior, is a genuinely good guy who's trying to build a family. Their dynamic is perfect grumpy/sunshine, and their interactions are filled with witty banter and undeniable sexual tension. The pregnancy trope, which can sometimes feel overdone, is handled with sensitivity and humor. The relatable pregnancy symptoms and Trista's honest portrayal of the experience made it feel authentic and engaging.

The supporting characters, including Wyatt's meddling brothers and the various animals, add to the charm of the small-town setting. The romantic moments are both sweet and steamy, culminating in a truly satisfying resolution. The moment when Trista finally breaks down and Wyatt tells her to tear up the contract, leading to some amazing sex? Perfect!

*Nine Month Contract* is a feel-good romance that will leave you smiling long after you finish. Amy Daws has created a world filled with lovable characters and a story that's both funny and touching. Four glowing stars! I can't wait for the second book!

A single man in his late 30s really wants to have a baby, so his niece helps him find a woman to be his surrogate which leads to the two falling in love.

I had a lot I didn't like about this book. I found both Wyatt and Trista to be infuriating at times. In fact I won't lie, I almost DNFed this book multiple times. Wyatt saying the line "I don't like boundaries. Boundaries feel like secrets." was nearly the nail in the coffin. This man felt way too much like he liked to be in control and it was gross.

Trista came off annoying a lot but her pain actually felt more realistic to me because it had to do with having parents that didn't love or respect her. Wyatt's reasoning didn't really make sense and was never fully explained. A previous woman didn't excuse his actions.

What I found redeemable about this book was Wyatt's niece Everly. I liked her efforts to get Wyatt a surrogate and someone for him to fall in love with, she was sweet and interesting. I liked the relationship between her and her uncles. I also liked Wyatt's mother and how she wasn't overbearing. Same with Everly's step mom.

Nine Month Contract follows Trista and Wyatt. Trista agrees to be a surrogate for single mountain man Wyatt Fletcher, who wants to start a family by himself as he’s been burned in the past with relationships. He wants no complications, which is perfect for Trista who doesn’t want to date and certainly doesn’t want a family. Trista has a plan in life, which involves starting an animal sanctuary, and getting money from being a surrogate gets her one step closer to that goal. But over time, will they fall in love or will their forced proximity result in both their plans going off track?

I absolutely adored this book and seeing Wyatt and Trista’s relationship grow! I loved the entire Fletcher family, and I cannot wait to read about the rest of the brothers! Sir Reginald was defiantly my favorite character though! This book made me laugh out loud and cry at certain points. It’s definitely a roller coaster of a book! Trista and Wyatt’s journey to getting over their past and accepting the future was an emotional journey, and was beautifully written. I love grumpy men who have a soft spot for their girl, and this book defiantly delivered on that.

This book releases on March 18th, and if you love spicy books, age gap romance, lots of farm animals, small-town romance, found family, or all the above listed tropes, than this book is for you!

I absolutely loved this book. The banter, it's hilarious. So many moments felt like they should have been cringy, but I ate it up. I absolutely loved it.This was overall, a really great book to read, and I could not put it down.

I absolutely loved this book! Trista and Wyatt are a great couple and I loved watching their story unfold. It was also great to see Max and Cozy again and see how Everly was doing now that she is older! I cannot wait to read the rest of the Mountain Men!

This book was swoony and hilarious! What is it about farm animals in romcoms that makes me so happy? Idk but I love it! I also loved how there was a new animal like every other chapter 😂 much to Wyatt’s dismay.
Wyatt was a great grumpy mmc. He doesn’t have a kid (yet) but he has a niece and I always love when the grump has a soft spot for a kid. Trista had a lot of baggage and issues. I loved her journey into accepting love in this book though.
And Everly is THE sweetest!
While I loved the chemistry between the two main characters, it did feel like the emotional connection was lacking a little more development than the spicy connection. Overall, I still really liked it. I read this in one day because it was so fun. I loved ALL of the characters and can’t wait until the next book. 😍

I'm going to start out by saying that I did enjoy this, but I understand why other readers were having a problem with it. I'm not opposed to surrogacy whatsoever, but I get that the way it was handled here was "different". I think you need to understand that this is still a light fiction read. That being said, I did enjoy these characters. Trista has had a hard life and doesn't let herself get close to anyone. Wyatt has a close family and the dynamic between the brothers was entertaining, although the past conflict seemed a little bizarre to me. The whole mountain living thing gave off some Credence vibes, but i guess if you didn't read that, you wouldn't. The dynamic between Trista and Wyatt was undeniably electric. I do wish that the reasoning for Wyatt wanting to be a dad and his reluctance to let his brothers near Trista was explained a little earlier in the story. Everly was a force to be reckoned with and stole all her scenes.

I have been a big Amy Daws fan for years and I am so excited for her to be trad published! I love her Harris Brothers series so much. I was so excited when she announced she was writing books for the Fletcher brothers (introduced in Last on the List).
This one started strong. I really like the hero and found it refreshing to read about a man knowing he wants a child and not waiting to find a wife to go with the baby. It was a nice break from playboys. He is so sure of his decision despite his family's reservations and I really liked that. I like his relationship with his niece Everly and her trying to play matchmaker. I did find the idea of her picking out her uncle's surrogate a bit strange.
I am a blunt and straightforward person who is not shy about topics that normally make others uncomfortable to talk about so I had a hard time with the words the characters, specifically the doctors at the clinic, used for female body parts and for surrogates. I also wasn't a fan of the heroine referring to herself as a cow so many times.
The actual relationship (not just sex) part was a bit quick because they decided to give a real relationship a try so late in the book.
I loved the setting for the book and all the animals! They were so cute and I loved how exasperated the hero got every time Trista brought home a new one even though it was obvious he secretly loved it.
Overall, this book was a fun and entertaining reading experience and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I am committed and want to know what happens with the rest of the brothers. I love a series that follows family members!

Wyatt and Trista are so cute. She just keeps bringing home animals and he can’t seem to say no to her 🤣 Such a cute and easy read.

On March 18, 2025 this spicy, hilarious romcom releases with the cutest flannel sprayed edges. This book will have you kicking your feet while fanning yourself at the tension.

Wyatt is ready to be a dad and is on the search for the perfect surrogate. Only issue? After a dozen interviews, the surrogate company grows tired of Wyatt’s grumpy attitude. Not to fret, Wyatt’s niece takes things into her own hands and in comes Trista moving onto Wyatt’s mountain to be his surrogate. Trista is Wyatt’s opposite in every way, byt they are determined to make the next nine months work.

Tropes: Small Town, Grumpy/Sunshine, Slowburn, Opposites Attract

ANOTHER AMY DAWS 5 STAR FOR ME!!

If you’re looking for a lighthearted, spicy romcom that will make you laugh-out-loud and simultaneously tug at your heartstrings, you need to pick up Nine Month Contract!

This book is equal parts wild, heartwarming, and downright hot—and it’s one of those stories that will stick with you long after you’ve finished reading. I guarantee this will be a good time. For me it was certainly a crazy, feel-good and unforgettable ride!!

Nine Month Contract follows Trista and Wyatt who come together thanks a little well-meaning meddling for Everly, Wyatt’s eighteen year old niece. Trista—who dreams of one day opening up her own animal rescue center—knows that dream comes with a hefty price tag, which is where Wyatt enters the picture. He’s a man with a plan to become a single father through surrogacy, and when their paths cross (again, thanks to Everly & quite possibly the universe) the two agree to a contract that’ll change both of their lives.

As Trista moves to Fletcher Mountain to fulfill her part of the deal, sparks fly, emotions run high, and things quickly spiral into something much more complicated than they ever expected. But they both have quite a bit of baggage to unpack before they can get to their happily ever after. One thing you can definitely expect though, is that Wyatt Fletcher doesn’t give up on his woman.

My thoughts:

I absolutely devoured and loved this book. I was cackling on practically every other page, thanks to Trista’s wild sense of humor and some of the absolutely insane things that came out of her mouth. She was the kind of FMC I didn’t know I needed—equal parts strong, funny, and just unpredictable in the best way. Her mantra “I’m an inseminated COW” had me in tears, and her unfiltered commentary made me love her even more. Honestly, if you're looking for a heroine who doesn’t hold back and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, Trista’s your girl.

Wyatt, the MMC, is everything you could ask for in a spicy romance—he’s protective, dirty-talking, and a total swoon-worthy alpha who falls hard for his surrogate. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I was living for how he pushed Trista to see her worth, both as a woman and as a future mother. His obsession with her and the whole untraditional surrogacy setup just added layers of drama and heat that made this book so addicting.

The book’s humor was such a lighthearted contrast to the heavier subject of surrogacy. Daws does an amazing job of exploring something as sensitive and complex as surrogacy in an approachable and fun way.

However, I have to mention that given the unconventional nature of how Trista became pregnant and the overall humorous tone, this story might be a bit triggering for some readers, especially those for whom surrogacy is a sensitive topic. That being said, for others, it could be an incredibly healing read. It’s all about perspective!

What I loved most was the crazy but lovable family dynamics—Wyatt’s three brothers added so much humor and depth to the story, giving it a real sense of warmth and community. It’s the kind of book where you’re laughing one minute and emotionally invested the next, with plenty of steamy moments sprinkled in between.

A bit more sex, well alot more really, than my typical read, but I enjoyed the story. Great characters and lovingly explored. A nice quick read.

I thought this book was super cute! I also loved that we got to kinda catch up with some other characters from another one of Amy’s series, but you do not need to read. Even though this is a rom-com and not dark; I would definitely still take in account the authors not at the beginning of the book.

Such a sweet book! I love that it is amusing and the banter is great. Wyatt and Trisha are the perfect couple. They first meet as her becoming a surrogate for him and becoming a single dad. Stuff happens and they start falling for each other. Their scenes were excellently written with an happily ever after.

It's rare that a book not only manages to introduce a whole family of characters in the first chapter and make it not seem like an info dump but also make you love each one!

I've never read a Amy Daws book before but this will definitely not be the last, especially since the next book in the series is going to be focused on my favorite of the brothers, Calder. This was a fun read with a trope I haven't really read before.

4 stars out of 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Nine month contract is about a mountain man who is single and has relationship trauma and desperately wants to have a baby of his own, resorting to surrogacy to become a father. Tristy is a girl looking for money to start her own animal rescue, and finds that Wyatt may be the answer to her question. After moving onto his mountain top retreat, her apartment barn turns into a complicated safe haven as she fills it with animal rescues and begins to fall for Wyatt whose baby she is carrying as a surrogate. And we soon learn her family trauma of her own. Introduce a full cast of characaters, 3 more brothers, their mom, Evelyn the matchmaking niece who likes Taylor swift, and many cute and charming animal rescues that show up on the mountain one day at a time.

I have never read a book like this, but I surprisingly really enjoyed it! I found Amy’s writing extremely easy to get through , and I did enjoy the relationship build between the two main characters. Each character felt full and developed and made it so easy to like. Calder was definitely my favorite. Of course Wyatt was the grumpiest and most miserable of the bunch and those MMC are usually not my type. A plus sized MFC with her own family drama and self detachment to humans however was the primary POV in her self discovery and fulfillment with his family love bombing her despite the fact that this was supposed to be a nine month contract.

Overall, I enjoyed it and do recommend it for a quick and easy read and would like to read the next!
