This is a great book for young toddlers (2-3) to become actively involved in the reading process. I like how it prompts the reader to engage with the story and become part of the action. Cute, funny and short - perfect for the age range the book is geared towards.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was pretty good. I could see this being a fun book for a small group of children or one-on-one because of the interactive cues on each spread. The art was cute and colorful. There wasn’t much plot, but I know the draw is the cranky dog, Cocoa, and his misadventures.

A cute fast book about Cranky Cocoa. I like the interaction on each page that gives the child something to look for , do or is a question to answer.
Even a cranky or grumpy pup can be happy with friends and love.

Cocoa books are so fun and interactive for little readers. They are silly and over the top and a great way to engage the little ones in your life.

Thank you so much to Tommy Nelson and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
A very adorable interactive book, I didn’t realise how interactive it would be but it was a lot of fun. Cocoa doesn’t like Halloween, but Kitty does and wants Cocoa to like it too, together they explore all the different features of Halloween all for treats.
I really enjoyed reading this it was very different to what I initially thought the story would be, but it was a really fun read, following Cocoa and helping him at every step of the way as he navigated the scariness of Halloween and eased his grogginess.
The illustrations were huge and the biggest part of this book, being that they were used for interactivity purposes, we had a mini maze, counting, dressing up, picking up fallen things. It was honestly really creative and so much fun. I know that young ones are just going to absolutely adore this book, there’s so much that they get to par-take in within the story and it’s got a cute story too to help Cocoa through what can be a scary holiday.

This is a very short, adorable picture book. I love the Halloween theme but the best part is how the book gives directions on how to interact with it. So fun!
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

I love a good halloween book and a good interactive book. This is a twofer. The story is cute and short, so it doesn't ask much of the audience as far as paying attention. It also prompts some active as well as basic learning such as "pick the biggest bag of candy". This will make for a great addition to any library, bookstore, or personal storytime rotation for the season.

Thank you for the ARC. This was a cute interactive book about a cranky dog and a cat trying to get him into the Halloween spirit. The illustrations were great.

This book is marketed for ages 2-6 but it really only seems appropriate/like it would be engaging for 2-3 year olds. The book’s not funny…and the activities the kids are expected to do on each page aren’t really that interesting. Pick the biggest treat bag but no chocolate (bc it’s not good for dogs?). What preschooler can do that? And what 6 year old even cares? It just seemed a little all over the place regarding who it’s trying to market itself toward. Cute idea but maybe better executed with pop ups or moving parts. Would give it a little extra ‘something’ to grab the imagination!

This is such a cute book for kids. My four year old loves how the Cocoa books are interactive. She really enjoyed helping Cocoa have a great Halloween.

My 7 year old enjoyed this book and found it funny. We both liked this interactive and cute story. The book consists of very colorful images that adds to getting the reader's attention. Perfect read for Fall and Halloween time! Definitely a treat!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.
This is a fun little book! There are some interactive elements that toddlers will love! I hope it gets published in board book format. My 18 month old niece would LOVE it!

Thank you to Netgalley for this e-copy of Cocoa’s Cranky Halloween by Thomas Nelson in exchange for a honest review. This is a cute, educational story about Cocoa the cranky dog who doesn’t like Halloween . Can his friends change his mind in this funny book with educational questions . Perfect for preschoolers.

COCOA’S CRANKY HALLOWEEN by Thomas Nelson is a children’s interactive book focusing on French bulldog Cocoa, and their adventures in searching for the perfect Halloween costume.
Cocoa is ‘cranky’ ; a young bulldog who struggles with Halloween. They cannot eat chocolate; they are unable to find the perfect costume; and the interactive book allows the child to participate in Cocoa’s search for the ideal costume.
COCOA’S CRANKY HALLOWEEN is a fun, interactive and cute story line for ages 2-6. The images are colorful; the text and instructions require an adult or older child to play along.

Young readers try to help Cranky Cocoa enjoy Halloween! I love the illustrations and the interactive stories of the Cocoa books! This will be a delight for little people who find it hard to sit still for a story.

Cocoa's Cranky Halloween is about a dog who is, obviously, cranky and a cat who tries to get them in the Halloween spirit. The book includes a lot of engagement points (turning the book, counting items, etc.) that are suitable for young kiddos. The illustrations are colorful and funny. This would be a great spooky season book for younger kids.
Thanks to Tommy Nelson and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

My 4 year old daughter LOVED this book! We loved how interactive it was and it made her bedtime story time a blast.
