Jen wakes up to a life that doesn’t feel like her own. Six months lost to a coma, her mind a foggy mess of half-formed memories and unshakable questions. Why is she recovering at home instead of in a hospital? Why does her sister, Rachel, insist she’s single when Jen distinctly remembers a husband and daughter? And why does her carer, Bryce, seem so perfectly attentive—too perfectly attentive?

Told entirely from her perspective, the story unfolds as a puzzle Jen desperately tries to piece together. Rachel has all the answers, yet something feels off—each reassurance only deepens Jen’s distrust. A casual conversation with a neighbor sends everything spiraling because as it transpires, everything her sister Rachel has told her is a lie. That's if Rachel is even her sister...

The book is worth sticking to, and the epiloge is insane!

When Jen wakes up, she learns she's been in an accident and was in a coma for six months. Her memory is fuzzy, and she doesn't understand why she's staying home instead of in a hospital. Her sister Rachel has all the right answers, and her aide Bryce is a wonderful carer, but something doesn't feel right. She remembers having a husband and daughter, but Rachel insists she's single and they're just figments of her imagination. Jen can't help but distrust Rachel, feeling like she's hiding things.
The entire book is from Jen's point of view, so we only know what she knows, and I spent most of the book thinking "what the hell is going on?" Jen is very likeable and reacts the way anyone would in her situation—she's distrustful, asks questions, and does exactly the opposite of what people tell her to do. Since we're limited to Jen's perspective, we don't learn much about the other characters' motivations, which makes some revelations less emotional. All the people in her life made a truly ridiculous and shocking choice (which I can't explain without spoiling the whole thing), but we don't fully understand why. We get their explanation, of course, but since we're not in their heads, their reasoning remains unclear. I would have loved multiple POVs, but I also enjoyed being as blind to everything as the main character, so I'm torn. :D
The ending was incredibly satisfying. I was worried for a while because the second-to-last chapter seemed to tell another story, but then the last chapter? Perfect ending.

I enjoyed this book although I guessed a couple of the "twists". Jen wakes up from a coma and struggles to remember anything from the last 6 months. She is in fact in her own home being tended to by Rachel and Bryce. They evade her questions and tell her it is the doctors instructions that she should gradually recover her memory. When she is eventually allowed to sit in the garden she meets the neighbour who tells her they are lying to her. Seemingly everyone is lying or telling half truths. She doesn't know who or what to believe.

This was my First Holly Down book and I really enjoyed it. I would love to read other books from this author and see more of her writing style

I really really enjoyed this book. Does she have amnesia? Is the lady caring for her her sister? Does she have a baby and a husband? You will need to read it to find out.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this ARC

This isn't an author I've heard of or read before but I believe this is a newer author.

I have to say I didn't love or hate the book. It was just a bit of a gentle read, it was a slow thriller. Nothing too shocking in terms of fearing for your life but definite underlying creepiness going on.

I feel like it was a bit too unbelievable in terms of the amount of lying these characters went through. Literally everyone was lying and the big romance in this book wasn't even a romance. just kinda odd

Jen wakes up with no idea of who she is nor does she remember what her life was like prior to suffering a tragic car accident. Her sister Rachel begins telling her bits and pieces of what Jen’s life used to be like. Jen begins to realize that nothing makes sense and that Rachel is hiding something big from her.

I started reading this before going to sleep but I stayed up until I finished reading this at 3 A.M because I wasn’t prepared for it to be this good! This book had so many excellent shocking twist and turns. I didn’t know who to trust and who was telling the truth. I really like how it ended. I wasn’t expecting Jen to do that thing at the very end.

Minus one star because I felt like the cause of the car accident and one other thing was predictable and the ending was a bit too rushed for my liking.

My favorite characters :
-Ian
-Noelle

My least favorite characters:
-Marc

“Everyone is Lying” by Holly Down Follows the story of a woman who is suffering from amnesia. Or so you think.

Holly gave me a sneak peek of this book, and let me tell you, it’s an absolute page-turner! The prologue is incredible. By the fifth paragraph, I was on the edge of my seat, and by the end, I couldn’t wait to find out what happens next. The way the author takes you on this journey with the main character, trying to figure out who she is, where she’s from, and what happened to her, is just so well-written that you feel like you’re right there with her. The bombshell dropped in Chapter 16, made my jaw drop. Chapter 20 & 21 had my heart shattered. And then, write when I think no more surprises, chapter 27, makes me gasp AGAIN. Oh my gosh, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. There were so many twists and turns. But Bryce and maybe even Ian were my favorite characters.

“I don’t trust myself. It’s like I’m trying to walk on fragile glass over a ravine, and at any minute I’ll go crashing to the ground.” is one of the quotes that stuck out most for me from the beginning. Because if you can’t trust yourself, then who can you trust?

“Everybody is Lying” is a 5/5 for me!

Thank you @netgalley, @bookoutour, & @HollyDown for providing this book! I cannot wait for it to be released. I’d love to own a physical copy of this book!

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this ARC
This isn't an author I've heard of or read before but anything involving memory loss is right up my street.
I have to say I didn't love or hate the book. It was just a bit of a gentle read (I know that's weird to say for a thriller).
I feel like it was a tad unbelievable too hence I felt like giving up.

3.5 stars rounded up. This started out kind of slow for me but when it picked up, I was on the edge of my seat. It just never kept up the momentum, I felt like it kept switching from slow to fast paced and back to slow. The twists I kept trying to guess, but I was almost never right and I had no clue how the story was actually going to end. I did figure out one of the twists but it was hinted at early on. The ending was super satisfying, although I do wish there was more to it. It just ended too abruptly for my liking. Overall, it was a fun thriller that took me on a roller-coaster of twists and turns.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Jen slowly awakes, struggling to remember who she is. Her name eventually comes to her, but she is struggling with where she is. Unable to move very much, Jen thinks maybe she is dead?

Someone comes into the room, no one Jen knows, but when they see that she is awake the shock causes them to drop the vase of flowers they are carrying.

How long has Jen been asleep and how come she is in this bed and not in hospital?

I really liked this book. The plot line and characters were well constructed and it certainly kept me interested, a just one more chapter read!

Some of the events were far fetched and unlikely, but it all added to the thrill of the story. Somewhat creepy at times and very frustrating, but in a good way. The ending was spot on!

This is one I definitely recommend.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.

Everyone is Lying was a creepy mystery, taking the reader through the mystery of why Jen, who has been in a coma for 6 months, remembers very little but can’t seem to trust those around to her to tell her the truth. Along with that Jen’s few glimmers of memory don’t seem to be real at all, causing her to wonder why she suspects that there is more to her than is being revealed.

This reminded me of another book I read recently with a similar main conflict (coma patient who has lost her memory) but this story went down a domestic suspense path that was fascinating and built up to a great ending. If you don’t mind some pretty big anger at the family at this story’s heart (and you shouldn’t, it pays off), pick this up

Holly Down's writing style is very similar to Freida Mcfadden's. I say that as a compliment. I thought I had everything figured out and Down blew my mind at the end! That is definitely my favorite kind of thriller. I loved this book so much I went and purchased her other two books on audible.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

When Jen wakes up with no memory she is distressed. Her sister Rachel and nurse Bryce are the only people she had contact with. As tiny memories trickle through Jen doesn’t know what is real and Rachel suggests much is not real. How can she find out the truth?

This was hard to get into and very frustrating. However, the frustration I felt was mirroring Jen’s so I felt that a positive aspect. The truth is slowly trickled through until near the end where things move faster. I enjoyed the slow pace and all the reveals. The final sting in the tail was satisfying!

This was a fantastic psychological thriller novel, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed the way everything worked with this. The characters were everything that I wanted and was hooked from the way they were written. Holly Down wrote this perfectly and had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the genre. It had me on the edge of my seat and was glad I read this.
