Perfectly Wedded

Thank you Netgalley and Poets and Saints Publishing for my copy! I love a cute hockey romance, and this one included several of my favorite tropes. Friends to lovers and marriage of convenience were both done so well. Sloan and Vale have been friends for a long time. When they run into her ex during a night out, they pretend to be together. Later, when Sloan shares that her expensive medication is no longer covered by insurance, Vale proposes they get married so she can be on his plan. As a pro hockey player, he has great insurance. Sloan reluctantly agrees, and after a night in Vegas they return home as newlyweds who never told anyone what they were planning. It was a sweet, heartwarming read and I loved Vale so much. I need the next two books immediately. This was a perfect brain candy romance with a lot of heart.

Perfectly Wedded by Grace Worthington is a delightful romantic comedy that expertly blends humor, heart, and a dash of chaos. The story follows the quirky and relatable heroine, who gets roped into a fake marriage with her best friend after a Vegas event spirals out of control. What was supposed to be a simple ruse to make her ex jealous soon becomes a full-blown charade that threatens to complicate her life in unexpected ways.
The premise is undeniably fun: a fake engagement turns into a temporary marriage for medical reasons, all while the two protagonists navigate their "friend zone" rules and deal with meddling family members. The tension between pretending to be in love and the undeniable chemistry that builds between them makes for a page-turner. The humor is on point, with laugh-out-loud moments and witty banter that keeps the reader entertained.
What really makes this story stand out, though, is the emotional depth. While the fake marriage is at the heart of the plot, the heroine’s secret love for her best friend adds an element of tension that pulls at the heartstrings. The complexity of their relationship, with the blend of fake intimacy and real emotions, makes for a rollercoaster of feelings, from hilarious to heartwarming.

I enjoyed this one. I’m a sucker for marriage of convenience which is hard to find in contemporary romance. And of course I love a good hockey rom com. However friends to more isn’t always my favorite but Vale and Sloan had me turning pages because they weren’t the typical friends to more rom com couple. Can’t wait to read more of the series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Perfectly Wedded is a contemporary romance novel written by Grace Worthington. It is book one in the Perfect Crush Hockey Romance series.
Summary: Sloan needs better health insurance to pay for an experimental drug that could keep her from the bouts of amnesia she keeps having.
Vale has great insurance and would like nothing more than to move out of the friend category with Sloan.
When Sloan’s ex shows up with a new fiance (the girl he cheated on Vale with) on his arm, Vale suggests a fake engagement with Sloan to protect her from embarrassment.
A fake engagement leads to a real marriage (for insurance purposes only, of course), and real feelings.
How will they get out of this one….and do they even want to?
My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. There were a few too many bouts of does she like me/does he like me kinds of writing, but overall, this was a fun read.
Vale got some great advice from his friends on relationships, and I thoroughly enjoyed how patient, kind, and caring he was throughout the book.
I would definitely recommend this one!
I would like to thank Poets & Saints Publishing for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

So enjoyed Sloan and Vale's book!
Sloan is a skating coach at the local college, and Vale plays hockey for the crushers. Vale rents a room along with several other Crushers. When Vale and Sloan go to Vegas, they end up married. Vale convinces Sloan it is a great idea so she can get health insurance for an expensive medication needed for her migraines.
Vale takes husband very seriously and has cared about Sloan for a while. He shows affection, and she tries.
When the Crushers team mates send them on a honeoon to Mexico, Vale shows Sloan how special she is. Through talking, Vale tells Sloan she is it for him. He professes his love. Sloan tries to let feeling show and finds that she has been hiding her feelings.
When The Star wants to feature the wedding, it causes so much pressure but again, Vale handles it and convinces Sloan it will be ok, until she finds Vale has told the truth, which makes her run. Vale chases her and lets her know he is trying to make it all real.
Together, they handle the wedding day and celebrate the real wedding. Vale and Sloan handle life together as a team.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an e ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a bit slower than I was expecting and the cover and summary gives more fun /cheeky vibes. So I think my feelings of disappointment were more to do with incorrect expectations than a lack of quality. I was going into this expecting a lot of fun banter and maybe even some fake dating/ marriage shenanigans. While we do get some of that, its much less than what I was expecting and the inner working of these MCs are more serious. They both spend A LOT of time ruminating on how much they love the other person and worrying about making this fake dating scenario work out and also worrying about things like the health of the FMC and the career implications of their situation.
Another aspect that didn't work as well for me is that both of the MCs already love the other romantically from the start (pretty much) and so there is very little variety when it comes to their POVs in terms of the fake marriage/ marriage of connivence aspect of it all.
2.5 stars but someone with different taste and expectations would probably enjoy this more.

This is a delightful read for fans of light-hearted, feel-good romance, particularly those who enjoy friends-to-lovers tropes, the marriage-of-convenience stories, and hockey-themed romances, with a dash of humor and a heartwarming, clean, and closed-door love story.

In order to get the medicine she needs the 2 mcs elope in Vegas. Turns out they loved each other all along.
No smut
Why did the sister show up on vacation?
3.5 stars

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

Vale and Sloan decided to get married while in Vegas so she can use his medical insurance.
Sure, why not, right?
Sounds promising.
Both characters appear to be secretly in love or maybe lust with the other which made her agreeing to marriage a little more believable even though she wakes up not remembering getting married at first. Kinda odd even though she’s having medical issues. I’m just not believing it. I don’t know….. seemed a little far fetched for me.
Now add in their siblings are married to each other and then you have drama….
An okay story for sure - just not the one for me.

The book started well and had all thetropes I like but very quickly got derailed. The MMC took 'my wife' to a really obnoxious level. All the conflicts between them seemed forced also the MMC hid the contract thing and never really got any consequence for it. The FMC also seemed completely undecided ovef everything.

While I appreciate all the ooey gooey in a romance book, this was HEAVY on the ooey gooey with virtually zero spice and far too much self-loathing.
Sloan spent the entire book being absolutely faint of heart and literally fainting. There was so much conflicting information about Sloan. She took chances, never looked back...when that is ALL she did in this book. At one point it referred to her taking a brave leap by marrying Vale and not thinking about it but the entire wedding was her overthinking and whining/ being a scared puppy.
It was just not for me. The simp boy Vale who is shoveling out money, not caring about his NHL career (insane), etc. all over his "friend" Sloan. It was too much.
If you died down the melodramatics and added some spice, it would have been a great book. The holiday epilogue was a nice touch - I'm a sucker for Christmas.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!
The most sweetest, heartwarming and beautifully written hockey romance!
The story and setting was very intriguing and Son's character was extremely precious and sweet.
Vale 😭😭😭 is sooooo sweet, understanding and a walking green forest!! His selflessness, kind and witty persona won my 💜
The chemistry between them was crackling and The slow burn was burrninnnnn 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
The detailed and heart touching story line and the very cute yet dysfunctional found family vibes, made this book my utmost favourite read of the month!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Definitely a must read for those looking for sweet and clean yet firey and sizzling romance 💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️

I wanted to like this book, but the plot holes and emphasis primarily on physical attraction left me feeling the book was lacking.
Plot holes: if the FMC had such a severe health condition that she would consider marrying someone to get the experimental medications, I would expect that the medical condition plays a large role in the beginning of the book. It didn't. In chapter one she had an episode of amnesia. She had a headache once. That's it. After she was on the meds, she fainted once. There were other holes, but that was the most glaring to me. The book states it can be a stand-alone book, but perhaps it needs the one before it for context?
Romance: Again I think this is where I needed to read another book to set the stage for this book. If the falling in love and building a friendship happened in a previous book, I don't see how this can stand alone. In this book the conflict was primarily that both MCs were very physically attracted to each other ... and that was made evident all the time.

Ehh sweet, predictable marriage of convenience. I think what irritates me most was the almost juvenile communication- it was a lot more internal monologuing and creating issues from nothing.

Perfectly Wedded is a cute marriage of convenience book with enough humor and romance to keep you going. Sloan and Vale make a fun "fake" couple, with secret feelings flowing out in waves.
Thank you NetGalley for an arc of Perfectly Wedded by Grace Worthington

The marriage of convenience trope has to strike a balance to come across as realistic while also being enjoyable to read, and this one did it well. The magnetism between Sloan and Vale was palpable and their banter and the way they end up working as teammate in their marriage before admitting to love was so good.
This book is technically the first in a series, but you would benefit from reading The Roommate Renovation first to get this character's backstories.
Thanks to the author for the gifted book. All opinions are my own.

I really loved this book and it was such an amazing book to end the year with (a fantastic one)
So many tropes going on in this book; friends to lovers, waking up in Vegas married, fake relationship, married for convenience. And I am here for it's all.
Main characters: Sloan and Vale
We also have the he fell first, I feel. He is such an amazing guy and shows how much he cares for her even as a "friend" he would do anything and he really tries to make her life the best he can. She also doesn't realize how well he pays attention to her and how much he really knows how she is. Which is super sweet and I loved this also.
This book has so much in it and it is such a fast read because you don't want to put it down.
Very addictive book to read and I loved all the characters.
I loved watching the find out each others real truths and how much they cared about each other wayyy beyond just friends.

I loved this book so much! This was just what I wanted in a book! It is a closed door, sports romance, with marriage of convenience. I would highly recommend this book!

Hockey romance read? Um, yes please!
Not sure why this is my vibe lately, but it is what it is.
Grace is such a great author in clean sports romance writing and this was yet another novel to prove it.
