This book is similar to all of her past works and is a collection of snippets organized into categories. It was humorous and impactful at points. Parts of her insight really made me think. It did bounce around a lot which I struggled a little bit with, but I could mostly understand the flow. If you enjoyed her previous books, you will enjoy this too. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I've been reading Chelsea's books ever since the beginning, and her first book was the very first book I ever read on my first kindle. When I had the opportunity to read this early courtesy of Netgalley and Random House, I felt like it was full circle since I now have a book channel where I feature my kindle and books I read on YouTube. I met her when she was on tour for Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang and she signed my book "Summer, Chelsea, Ummmm".

I always love Chelsea's stories, and this one was no exception. However... this one had a bit of a different twist to it. I don't want to spoil too much, but it had quite a few highlights where I noted "life lesson". Chelsea was called out by Jane Fonda for some bad behavior, and this book chronicled her time learning these life lessons, and how to be a better person. With - hilarious stories including run-in's with George Bush (and his paintings), Woody Allen and his daughter/bride, and COVID stories that made me think back on my own time in quarantine.

This was witty, fun, and heartwarming. I only wish I'd listened to the audiobook, since they are so much better when they're read out loud by her!

(I will post more on Instagram/YouTube/TikTok [if it's alive] once the book releases!)

I appreciate how honest Chelsea Handler is and for her pursuit of truth both within herself and others. She also is comfortable with seeing others in a different light and not overly committed to preconceived ideas on who others are.
She balances real life with humor and shows no matter how successful one is professionally they still have to do the work on themselves and with relationships. Bravo Chelsea for inviting us to join you in the journey and for the generosity in sharing the wisdom you have gleaned along the way! (And still gifting us with laughter)

Chelsea Handler's I'll Have What She's Having is an entertaining and honest dive into the world of self-reflection. The book is funny and candid. I laughed out loud a lot during this book. I particularly enjoyed the stories about the pandemic, Jo Koy, and Woody Allen. I wish I had listened to it. I think hearing the stories in her voice would have made them even better! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for an advanced copy of this book!

⚖️ a balance of funny and heartwarming

summary:
I’ll admit, I have LOVED all of Chelsea Handler’s books to date, as her writing style is a perfect balance of humor and heart. This book was no exception and in fact, I think I liked it even more because of the maturity and perspective she has during this chapter of her life. Like her other books, this is a collection of short stories/essays, covering the entirety of her life. Some are funnier, like when she quarantined with her entire family during COVID, and some are more serious, like when she took parenting classes to help parent a boyfriend’s three daughters. She reflects on many of her stories through the lens of therapy, a topic which I appreciate her openness about. She spends a lot of time reflecting on how her actions after therapy are different than those she would have had before, and how the evolution of her self reflection changes how she interacts with those around her. One of my favorite parts is when she writes a letter to her family about their need for respect and gratitude when she invites them on trips. In many of her earlier books, it’s almost a joke how much she gets taken advantage of, and her willingness to go with the flow. In this book, she talks about setting a higher standard for those and others around her, which I admire!

Her honesty and humility are refreshing, and her lens on life is both enjoyable and admirable. I love the stories about her family, about all the kids she supports and how shes found a maternal instinct, even though she isn’t a mother. As someone who doesn’t want to be a mother but loves kids, I could totally relate. Lastly, if you’re an OG Chelsea Handler fan….she is still the same. She talks about her dogs, her struggles with adulting, drugs, alcohol and her mistakes.

If you love her as much as I do, I highly recommend this book when it comes out on February 25! Thanks to Random House and Net Galley for the advanced copy!
