Oh and she is funny and not afraid to be herself!

I’ve read most of her books but this one feels very different, in a good way!

Chelsea has turned into the auntie we all need to teach us about life. I make sure to floss daily now.

You can see the immense changes in her life, mental clarity, gratitude, understandings, strength, being present, and love for herself and those around her.

This is a fantastic memoir with her typical comedy and drug use between the pages. Thank you Chelsea for your humor and not being afraid to be yourself!

Chelsea Handler is a caricature of the ultimate Jersey Girl—and as one myself, I love that. She’s always been unfiltered and bold in her comedy, but I’ll Have What She’s Having takes an unfiltered look at the new Chelsea, one who’s deep into therapy and self-improvement. This book is less about the punchline and more about her journey toward personal growth.

If you’re a longtime Handler fan, there’s probably not a ton of new insight here, but if you’re curious about her self-growth era, this book is for you. Personally, I was hoping for more of her signature humor, so it ended up being just okay for me. But I can’t be mad at a book about a woman trying (and wanting to be seen trying).

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

First and foremost, I’d like to thank NetGalley, Chelsea Handler, and Random House for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

As a longtime fan of Chelsea Handler, I was beyond excited to dive into this one. I’ve read all of her books, and each time, I come away with something that resonates—whether it’s humor, wisdom, or just a feel-good vibe.

What I loved most about I’ll Have What She’s Having is how raw and honest Chelsea is about her life, her healing journey, and her path to truly loving herself. She doesn’t shy away from heavy topics, and that vulnerability makes this book all the more powerful.

I had the chance to see her live a few months ago, and I can personally attest to how genuine she is. She even stopped by our seats before heading off stage and let me chat with her for a minute—I was absolutely stunned and loved every second of it!

Chelsea Handler never fails to deliver, and I’ll forever read anything she writes. Highly recommend this one!

I’ve always enjoyed Chelsea’s books, and it is so interesting how they’ve evolved over the years. She has done so much work on herself, and it shows in her writing. She is still the Chelsea we know and love, but the reflections she shares and her insights into behavior make you think about yourself as you read, which make this book kind of a hybrid of humor, memoir, and self-help. Who knew Chelsea would get me deep-thinking about my own life as I read about her antics?!

Chelsea Handler’s I’ll Have What She’s Having is a refreshing blend of humor, self-discovery, and emotional growth that showcases her signature wit while delving into deeply personal experiences. Known for her sharp comedic voice, Handler brings readers along on a journey of transformation, revealing the power of therapy, personal reflection, and standing up for oneself.

Fans of Handler will appreciate her candid storytelling and the raw honesty with which she shares her struggles over the past few years. The book balances laugh-out-loud moments with heartfelt revelations, making it both an entertaining and inspiring read. One of the highlights is her humorous yet touching reflections on stepping into a “fatherly” role for her nieces and nephews, a testament to her evolving perspective on family and responsibility.

Handler’s willingness to confront difficult situations—including holding her ex accountable for his role as a parent—adds depth to the narrative, making her not just a comedian but also a figure of resilience and growth. Her journey serves as a reminder that change is possible and that self-improvement is a lifelong process.

I’ll Have What She’s Having is more than just a celebrity memoir; it’s a testament to the power of personal evolution, making it a compelling read for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Handler’s blend of humor and honesty ensures that readers will not only laugh but also come away with a sense of hope and encouragement.

Chelsea Handler is back with another great funny book. This circles around the pandemic and Chelsea doesn't hold back with her sharp wit and humor to provide us with stories on skiing lessons, mediation, COVID lockdown with family, relationships. She opens up on her relationship and break up with Jo Koy but doesn't divulge all details which I appreciate. Chelsea takes with her as she works on herself - going to therapy, her meditation practice and enjoying life as a solo lady. Thanks Chelsea for another great journey, funny stories and glimpse into your life.

I'll Have What She's Having by Chelsea Handler is a collection of stories from Chelsea's journey to find out how to be the woman she wants to be. Most of Chelsea's previous books have been her typical raunchy, unapologetic humor that made me cackle out loud. While this one did have some of these moments, it was much more of a different side of Chelsea. I absolutely loved how candid Handler was throughout about her mental health and trying to be the best woman she can be. Both hilarious and inspiring, I'll Have What She's Having is a testament to the struggles and hard work Handler has had to do in order to become her more authentic self. Definitely read this if you are interested in a look at what it takes to be strong but vulnerable and honest not just with others but with yourself.

Thank you to NetGalley, Chelsea Handler, and Random House Publishing / The Dial Press for this ARC. Expected release date is February 25th 2025.

I have never missed a Chelsea Handler memoir and was thrilled to hear about her newest release. "I'll Have What She's Having" could also be described as "Chelsea Unplugged." From developing and nurturing new and old relationships, life changes, travel, dogs, skiing and reading, Chelsea writes about her time mostly spent outside of the spotlight. If you want chill vibes, "I'll Have What She's Having" is the perfect book.

This was the first time reading Chelsea Handlers and I was expecting it to be a laugh out loud pee my pants kind of book. Just so you know, it does have a couple of moments, but for the most part no, it's a serious book. Which I have to say I grew to appreciate not just as a woman but in general.

Chelsea starts by talking about what kind of woman she wants to be. Then it goes into how she goes into therapy. Therapy with Dan! He seems to help her and give her quite a few tools she describes using.

She talks about her family and her siblings and their children. She shares about her many loves and her heart breaks and the heart breaks of which she has caused.

All in all, life lessons and the growth of which one goes through if you are paying attention and striving for it!

Happy reading!

I love comedian Chelsea Handler, she is smart and raw and topical and so very funny. I have also appreciated her post-therapy activist growth era showing us her tender side, as outlined in her previous book, ‘Life Will Be The Death Of Me’.

While Handler's books are presented as a series of comical essays, they essentially form her biography, and whether you like that format, and the new Chelsea, are pretty much if you are going to like her books, including this new one, ‘I’ll Have What She’s Having’.

I liked this book. While it is less chaotic and laugh out loud than her earlier books, the heartwarming and funny stories worked for me; these include run-ins with Jane Fonda who called Handler out on her bad behaviour, the Bush sisters and then their father and his paintings, her pampered dogs’ misbehaviour, and too much time locked up with her own extended family during COVID.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House for an advance copy of this book. It will be published Feb 25th. While I read this one, I would likely recommend checking out the audio to hear Handler deliver these stories her way.

I love Chelsea Handler and have read all of her books. I feel like this book is so different, but in a great way. It was very positive and uplifting. I loved hearing her stories with her usual humor, but these stories felt so loving and heartwarming. Especially the stories of Oopsie, Whoopsie, and Poopsie. This book also made me want to work more on my mental health as she mentions how much work she has put in for her own mental health.

Chelsea Handler’s latest book is a testament to everything she has worked hard to become. “I’ll Have What She’s Having” is a lesson in how to center yourself and become the person you want to be. It’s both funny and inspiring, and paints a beautiful picture of the person Handler has become and the legacy she will leave.

You would think after five best sellers Chelsea Handler would have nothing pertinent or interesting left to say. You would be wrong. Handler has stories and wisdom to share with us for days!

In I'll Have What She's Having, Handler takes us from the stages of L.A. to the slopes of Whistler and the shores of Mallorca as she shares with us her journey of fatherhood and family matriarch. You can always count on her to be vulnerable, strong, and honest with her readers. She shares the good and the bad, but what particularly shines through this work is her gratitude for it all. Chelsea Handler might be the most mature person I know (and I don't even know her!) When I grow up, I want to be just like her.

Format-wise, the switch between longer stories and short vignettes took some getting used to. I would prefer some of the small segments be included in the longer chapters, especially when some contained the logical suite of the previous anecdote. I was left sometimes unsure when an anecdote was over or when it would continue for three more chapters. The longer chapters allowed me to immerse myself better into the story and focus on the action and the writing.

A special shout-out to Woman King. We all have stories of weird coincidences we cannot explain, and hers is a delight. I long for a Whistler book-reading quarantine of my own, but a midnight kayak therapy session in Mallorca with her would heal me.
Chelsea Handler always succeeds in surprising me, and I will keep reading whatever she decides to share with us as long as she does. And I think many readers will be surprised with this Chelsea.

Thank you, Chelsea Handler, Random House, and NetGalley for the ARC.

I’ll always be a big fan of Chelsea Handler and couldn’t wait to get my hands on her newest book. A stark contrast from her most recent book on grief, this is a collection of funny and poignant essays, spanning from childhood to the present, travels, loss, relationships and more. With plenty of stories to enjoy, much revolve around one theme: family and chosen family, and how Chelsea has not only built up a solid support system, but also how she shows up for the people she loves (and even strangers). This is a great reminder to recognize the joy in your life and embrace it.
I loved reading this but while it’s definitely a stream of consciousness, it sometimes bounced around a lot and it was hard to follow at times. But I loved all of Chelsea’s stories and dream of the day where we can sit with a margarita chatting about life and where I can slowly steal Doug away haha (he’s just the cutest).
Thank you to Random House for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a departure from Chelsea Handler's previous books.

It is still hilarious and somewhat raunchy at times, but it also has a message of hope. I know that sounds like it doesn't fit with her stand up but, she makes it work,

In this series of essays Handler takes us through different moments in her life that helped her become the 'woman she always wanted to be.' From her childhood through the present Handler shares stories and lessons she's learned.

But the book isn't just a look at lessons she learned through life-- Handler is open about the therapy and meditation and true work she put in to evolving from who she was to who she is now.

It's really inspiring and hilarious. Seeing someone devoted to being more positive and getting away from the anger that fueled her younger years is really something to make the reader think.

I’ll Have What She’s Having by Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler at her best. I’ve enjoyed all of her books and although they have all been wildly entertaining and insightful, this one is my favourite.

Told through various essays and short stories over the last several years, this collection focuses on her self discovery. How she has taken her lessons from therapy and applied them to her life. Becoming quieter, more intentional and digging deep into her personal beliefs she is even more dedicated to always standing up for women and those in need of a helping hand.

I loved her chapters about her time in Whistler, her always hilarious take on ridiculous people and her no BS attitude of choosing yourself and not putting up with assholes.

Can’t wait to listen to this one as well, there were countless quotes I want to explore again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to @thedialpress for my early copy. This is one @netgalley approval that made me squeal and feel very lucky to have the opportunity to read an early copy from one of my favourite authors. This one is out on the 24th!

I've read most of Chelsea Handler's books, and this one was her best yet- and shows her evolution as a person and what she's learned along the way. There is plenty of humor, honestly, but it's also heartwarming.

As along time reader of Chelsea, I was very much looking forward to this book. What I didn't expect was that it feels quite grown up compare to her previous books.

As loud and abrasive as her previous books have been (which I loved), this one feels more vulnerable, really opening up about her growth over the years, including experiences with therapy and living life as THE Chelsea Handler.

Her writing style continues to be relaxed, and the whole book feels like a conversation rather than a series of essays. There's a feeling of really connecting to Chelsea while reading this book that many will find endearing and beautiful.

3.5 stars

Part motivational, part self-help, part comedy, Chelsea Handler’s newest book is a lot different than the other books I have read by her. There are fewer Comedy/humor stories and a lot more stories about therapy and self reflection. She talks about meditation, striving to be a better person, and skiing. Chelsea loves skiing. She has a house in Whistler and she goes every winter, and a lot of the book is about that.

I definitely would’ve liked some more humorous stories. I do like hearing about her dogs and her interesting life. Overall, an easy read.

Thanks to Random House Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

I have read a few of Chelsea’s books over the years but none of them held me quite the same as this one. I would say it is her best book yet.

I found her to be quite beautifully open. Her vulnerability felt like soaking to a close girl friend and you having a real conversation with them about life, being a part of this world and walking with your truth inside of you while the people who do not know you create a fictional you.

One of the stories she shares that really touched me was about these 3 girls who are the daughters of a man she had started dating. No intention on meeting the girls that early she spoke so much about her love for them and how close she was to them - a step-father as they called her.

I highly recommend this book. I think you may be surprised at what all you find inside.
