Cleaning up my book shelf and adding reviews never posted.

I had a really hard time getting into Dream a Little Dream. I loved the concept and characters, but could not getting the plot and story line.

First, I know we don't judge a book by its cover, but that cover is gorgeous! I was excited to read this since I absolutely loved The Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Gier. The first half of this book was a lot of fun and I loved Liv's sass and how she tells it like it is. Once Liv started experiencing and sharing the dreams she was having, the book both took fun and eerie turns. The second half of the book seemed slower paced and I found myself getting a little bored at times. Overall though, this was a fun first book with a lot of promise and leaves me ready to get my hands on the second in this series.

Dream a Little Dream is very twisty and surreal and well, dreamlike. It was fun, but also slow paced at times.

Dream a Little Dream by Kerstin Gier

I became quite a fan of Kerstin Gier's magical storytelling with the Ruby Red trilogy, and she's done it again with Dream a Little Dream. The humor in this story is so wonderful, and is becoming a thing I feel safe to expect from Kerstin. Her characters have so much wit and personality, and I just love that. I love that it translates so well to English. I love the sister relationship in this book, too. Gier's writing is beautiful, and flows so fast that I finished this book way quicker than I expected. A few more swoons would have been nice, but it's ok. I still really enjoyed this!

The narrative voice is REALLY great, and I love love loved the boys and the lack of a love triangle! But maybe it was because this took place in a dreamscape but the whole thing didn't feel super cohesive to me.

I've had the ARC of this for a while now, but I haven't had time to read it until recently. I really enjoyed reading the book though. Liv's dreams are very detailed and how people who she hasn't met yet. These dreams and a group of boys will turn Liv's world upside down. A good book that keeps your interest.

I really enjoyed this unique fantasy! I really liked the concept of traveling into other people's dreams, and found the suspense to be quite well done. The characters are enjoyable and true-to-life, and I liked the home drama and tensions displayed there as well. I look forward to reading the next installment in the series!
