I really, really like Susan Mallery and her Fool's Gold series is so popular! Problem is, this book just didn't have the magic I had hoped for when I dug into a Christmas book. I would have rather have not had the updates on every couple from the previous books in this series because I haven't read any of them yet. That's my fault for jumping into a series partway through, I suppose. Both Noelle and Gabriel (cringey names, and that's saying something coming from me!) had major past traumas, and I really struggled to believe that they were both able to so fully heal and overcome their pasts in such a short amount of time. It just felt too convenient and easy. Love and Christmas do not have the power to heal people like this, and saying that they do is doing others who suffer with similar demons a huge disservice. Sometimes I love this idea, though, and an escape from the world is nice. But it can also leave me feeling sad and hopeless because I can't be fixed this easily.

Interests have changed & archived - no longer going to review this book as its bo my cup of tea any longer - sorry

Can you ever go wrong with a Christmas book? I think not. Even though it's not Christmas yet, there's something calming about diving into Christmas that makes all things calmer. And I like these Fool's Gold books so of course I would like this one.
