Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
A very powerful and disturbing memoir about the author’s dark past of sexual abuse and trafficking. Difficult subject matter to read but beautifully written.

This book tells the story of Katie Price's abuse, but much of the story illustrates her resilient and strength. Her trauma work with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, the author of "The Body Keeps the Score," was important and lent further credibility to her story. This book was at the top of the reading list for chaplains when I went through a CPE program. If Price's book had been released then, I am sure it would have been required reading as well. This was not an easy read, and it took me a few days to work up to do starting it, but Price tells her story in a way that the abuse is uncovered gradually (as it happened in real life), and so I did not feel overwhelmed as a reader, or manipulated. I would recommend this for anyone who is interested in trauma recovery, and/or stories of breaking cycles in families. Powerful and well-written. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
