**3-Star Review: *The Real Food Revolution* by Tim Ryan**

*The Real Food Revolution* by Tim Ryan advocates for a healthier, more sustainable approach to food in America, addressing issues such as industrial farming, food policy, and nutrition. Congressman Tim Ryan calls for a shift toward locally-sourced, organic foods and highlights the social, environmental, and health benefits of making real, unprocessed foods more accessible.

Ryan’s passion for food reform is evident, and his insights on the harmful effects of processed foods, as well as the benefits of supporting local farmers, are timely and thought-provoking. The book succeeds in providing an overview of the challenges facing America’s food systems and introduces readers to the concept of "real food" as an achievable goal for individuals and communities alike.

However, the book sometimes lacks depth and specific actionable steps for readers. While Ryan’s ideas are compelling, the solutions presented can feel vague, leaving some readers wanting more concrete guidance on how to implement these changes in everyday life. Additionally, those familiar with food policy or nutrition may find the book somewhat basic.

Overall, *The Real Food Revolution* is a well-intentioned introduction to the food movement, best suited for readers new to these topics. It’s an accessible read with good ideas, even if it doesn’t fully deliver on practical advice.

Interesting book from the perspective of a congressman, but it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. I do like that he might be able to get different people looking at the topic, but other than that, we know we need more sustainable food and food systems--practically what does that look like for our country?
