I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced thriller—it's a fun, twisty read that kept me engaged from start to finish. Kabler delivers some great surprises along the way, and the book moves quickly, which makes it perfect for a weekend binge. However, I did find that some of the plot developments felt a bit too convenient at times, making the resolution less satisfying than it could have been. While it's an entertaining ride, it's not a story that will linger long after the final page. A solid, enjoyable read for fans of domestic thrillers—just don’t expect it to change the world.

Goodness me, this was such a good book. Highly entertaining. Would definitely recommend to others, that's for sure! Jackie Kabler is an author to look out for.

The Revenge Plot is a twisty thriller that had me not knowing where this was going at all.
Ella has recently opened a coffee shop with the help of someone she met whilst at her last job, this one is perfect. Selling coffee, cake and plants, Ella’s three loves. She turns up on a Monday morning and there is no sign the coffee shop was ever there, the locks have been changed, the signs have gone and looking through the window the place is empty. She gets in contact with the owner but can’t get through, strange but she is busy but as the days go on and no contact is made it becomes clear that this is not the only aspect of her life to come under difficulty. Luckily an old friend is there to help her but not everything is rosy and bright and lives get weirder by the minute.
This was a very twisty read, I sort of guessed where the first part was going but from there on I had no idea. The characters were likeable to a point and there wasn’t many of them so made it an easy read. The pace was good and I liked how the book was split into parts relating to each woman and they each got their own thoughts across. Probably the best book I’ve read from this author to date.

Jackie Kabler's gift is that she manages to pull off some fairly far-fetched elements to deliver a gripping story, much like some of her previous ones. An entertaining piece of fiction.

I really liked the cover of this book, it really caught my attention. I really loved this storyline. It was so intriguing and nothing like I have read before. I couldn’t help but stay completely engaged in the writing because I had to know what would happen next. I also really appreciated all the twists and turns, it made the book stay very interesting. This was a solid thriller that I would highly recommend.

Revenge is best served cold. The more, the merrier. So much to love about this tense novel, especially the cleverly-crafted plot. The list of characters is perfectly short and easy to follow. They are detestable with no redeeming qualities but somehow, it works here. Multiple perspectives are written beautifully. Bits are implausible but man, I sure enjoyed my time inhaling the novel. It enveloped me in suspense and jumpiness but not in a scary way, just...unsettled.

Ella is stunned to see the abrupt closure of her workplace. She's a former model but burned through her earnings. She really, really needed this job. Besides. She was great at it. Now she is forced to sleep in her car but when her safety is compromised, she swallows her pride and shows up on the doorstep of an old housemate who was now a married pediatrician. Harriet welcomed her and tried to help her get back on her feet. Theirs was a mutually beneficial relationship. But Ella is not the only one with problems. One bad thing after another shadow the women wherever they go. Plus a third enters the scene which stirs up further messiness. Secrets begin unraveling and continue until the very end. The anxiety-inducing atmosphere and colossal twists came from every corner.

Although I could see a few things coming in general, I did not guess any of the hows and whys. The writing appealed to me as well. All in all, this was well worth immersing myself in.

This was fantastic. I really enjoyed reading it and didn’t want to put it down. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This was a pretty solid thriller for me. I loved the prose of this book. The deleting of aspects of Ella’s life bit by bit was a new concept for me, which I really enjoyed.
However, towards the end, the twists were getting a little predictable. But overall a good thriller that I read really quickly thanks to the good pacing!

The revenge plot is a gripping thriller full of twists and turns. I literally couldn’t put this down and read it in a single evening.

What I liked in particular:
- the morally grey characters. Most of the characters do something terrible over the course of this book, of course some are more devious than others.
-the fast pace, this book was a real page turner.

What I didn’t like so much:
- I didn’t like the way miscarriage and motherhood were portrayed in this book sometimes.

I think fans of Frieda McFadden will love this.

Firstly the cover! Love it!

Well I was totally captivated by this one, there is just so many different layers to it and just who can you trust??

When Ella turns up to work on Monday, she finds the business is gone. The building is empty, the locks have been changed and the orders cancelled. Just what is going on?? And things only get worse for her…..

I love the style in which this was written, jumping between different characters perspectives, it really gives you a feel for how they are feeling and what they are thinking.

I don’t want to give anything away so won’t mention more of the plot. I really liked the character development throughout this book and my feelings towards the main three characters changed throughout, they aren’t always the most likeable but I feel more for Ella and less for Harriet as we get to know them!

This is definite must read for those who like twists and turns right up until the last page. It’s fast paced and will have you questioning what you think you know!

You could argue that some of it is unbelievable, maybe reactions and the consequences are over the top, but then what lengths will people really go to for revenge when they feel they have been wronged??

Sometimes, when things seem too good to be true, maybe it’s because they are. Which is what Ella Leonard must have thought when her life upturned in a matter of days. One day, the former model (and not always nice young woman) had a fab job with a new start-up, accommodation included, and an advance in wages paid upfront.
And then…
She had no job, no home and no money. She couldn’t track down her “boss” either (the woman she met in her last job as a barista who “offered” her this amazing chance but who convinced Ella the contract would come through in time. It didn’t) and the police didn’t recognise anything that’s happened to her as a crime.
Forced to sleep in her car, she founda new job only to lose that too.

Life was not going to plan, but who did she have to turn to?
No friends to speak of, no colleagues who’d be pleased to see her, and no family (she burnt her bridges there long ago), Ella could only think of one person who might help her out: Harriet, an old friend from college times, and one she hadn’t seen in years (and there was a reason for that!)

Things had to get better for Ella now, surely?
Well, if that were the case, this wouldn’t be a psychological thriller ...and trust me it is. Ella might think she’d found her saviour in Harriet but it was far from a smooth ride from here.
And not just for Ella.
Harriet had her own issues with Ella and another character (Nisha) and these led to many more plot twists before the story reached its conclusion. The ending proved that Ella hadn’t really changed that much since her college years, though it was probably to be expected.

The writing was tight, the chapters short, the pacing fast and the mood one of suspense, creating a compelling read. The main characters weren’t exactly likeable and had selfish intentions that drove them to overreact, but their actions made for great tension for the most part.
I did feel that later chapters weren’t as tight because there were many threads to tie up, and so some scenes seemed a tad farfetched (how these women justified their actions to themselves, I’ll never know) but the many twists kept me engaged.

A great read! When Ella arrives at work, she finds it has been emptied and the locks changed. Her boss isn't picking up her phone and then Ella is evicted from her flat as well. Confused and penniless, she is forced to sleep in her car until she reaches out to an old friend for help and a place to stay. When it transpires that Ella's friend, Harriet, has a stalker of her own, the two work together to try and solve the mystery of who is trying to destroy their lives. A couple of great twists took this in a direction I was absolutely not expecting!

What if you went to work one morning and your office store wasn’t there - no sign, no furniture, no equipment - nothing. That’s what happens to Ella Leonard and when the woman who hired her disappears, things get more interesting. A lot more interesting, although I won’t write more because of spoilers. I can say that The Revenge Plot is full of twists and turns and complicated almost beyond belief. The three main female characters, Ella, Harriet and Nisha, narrate in alternating chapters that end in a jaw-dropping conclusion.

The Revenge Plot is intense, compulsively readable and hard to put down. 4 stars.

Full of suspense, atmosphere and tension, I couldn't put this book down and I didn't want to, I finished it in a couple of hours. Full of twists that kept me guessing.

It all starts with Ella, and her initial situation is intriguing, as she goes to work on Monday morning and discovers that over the weekend the locks have been changed, everything from the coffee shop has been removed, and even a key order had apparently been cancelled the previous week. Ella has no idea what or why, and when things escalate from that, it gets even more interesting.

There are so many levels of deviousness within the pages of this novel. It kept me totally gripped. I was never sure where the story would take us next, and kept being open mouthed at some of the revelations / twists.

It's another utterly brilliant psychological thriller from Jackie Kabler, and I couldn't get enough of it. I can't say any of the characters would be someone I'd want as a friend, but they are realistic, possibly marginally unhinged and I could understand some of the motivations.

it's dastardly, compelling and I was totally there for it. Just fabulous.

This author writes brilliant books and I have read them all

I loved the storyline and the characters and I was involved all the way from the very first page, a real page turner for me.

Oh dear - I am all for an easy thriller but this really did not do it for me. All three main characters were so awful that when terrible things happened to them I had no sympathy. As for the twist, well I saw that coming, if someone has previously stolen your man I would suggest inviting them into your marital home is never a good plan. Also if you are really scheming malicious person I suspect that the people who tolerate you are going to be that way inclined as well. It gets two stars because I did finish it - but I feel the need to read something about lovely people as a palate cleanser.
