Fun, spicy and adventurous! Great for fans of Uncharted, The Lost City and Indiana Jones!
When Adriana opens a mysterious package and puts on the bracelet inside, she has no idea that her whole world is about to be turned upside down.
Dr Andrew Jones is the actual intended recipient of the bracelet which will reveal the location of hidden treasure!
Adriana and Andrew go on an adventure together across South America, flirting, sleuthing and trying to stay a step ahead of their enemies.
A spicy rollercoaster ride!

Digging Dr Jones is a rom-com style book that follows that coincidently and conveniently for the plot, similarly named Adrianna Jones and Andrew Jones as they engage in a quest involving an ancient artefact.

I had high hopes for this book based on the blurb, it had all the themes and elements I loved. I liked certain elements of the set up, like a down-on-her-luck businesswoman, who is in her thirties. But ultimately, I wasn’t a fan of the writing style, I found it a little immature (things like “rah rah” and “WTF-ery” in the opening chapters) and at odds with the voice I expected from an adult protagonist. I also found there wasn’t a lot of depth to Andrew, he felt a bit too perfect. Overall it’s sad, because I really, really wanted to like this book.

I’m sure this will be a great romance adventure for other readers, but not for me. Thank you Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review, these thoughts are all my own.

This book gave me major Romancing the Stone vibes, which is still one of my favorite movies. I love stories with a treasure hunt and I enjoyed the clues that Adriana and Andrew needed to put together in order to solve the mystery that she gets herself roped into. This was definitely a quick read, and the romantic burn between the two main characters does not disappoint.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Digging Dr Jones by Olivia Jackson is an adventurous story about a woman named Adriana Jones whose life is in crisis. While on vacation with her brother William, she receives a package from an unknown sender with a beautiful antique bracelet. She puts it on, it knowing it was really meant for Dr Andrew Jones, an archeologist, who needs the bracelet to assist in finding a treasure. When the bracelet won’t come off, Adriana and William agree to go with Dr Jones on his adventure. As sparks fly between Adriana and Dr Jones, will they successfully find what they seek?

This was a fun story. The characters were a bit flat, and sometimes the language took me a bit out of the story, but I enjoyed it overall. The story is not realistic regarding an archeologist searching for treasure, but I’m fine with just going along with it and enjoying the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for access to an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I'm always up for an adventure romcom, and Digging Dr. Jones hit the mark. If you enjoyed the movies The Lost City and The Mummy, you'll love this book.

The plot was a lot of fun and interesting (especially if you're into archaeology or had dream of being Indiana Jones). The plot is a little wacky but that's what keeps things entertaining. I had a lot of fun reading about the different situations the characters ended up in. I thought the plot was unique.

The romance is for lovers of opposites attract and forced proximity. Adriana and Andrew have the best banter. I was cackling because of these two. I thought the romance developed nicely. Plus this has spice which I was pleasantly surprised by.

This is a fast-paced adventure filled with romance, humor and spice. Readers are going to love this one!

I am loving this new trend of "adventure romance" books. As someone who grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies, Jewel of the Nile, etc, these books are a fun callback to my formative years.

This book, in particular, has an identity mix-up that kicks off the fun, ancient treasure, jungle dangers, a feisty and clever heroine, and a gruff but cool archaeologist. It's a fun romp, over the top and campy at points, but that just adds to the charm.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Adriana and her brother are on vacation when a package is mistakenly delivered to the wrong room, setting off a chain of events that brings Adriana face-to-face with Dr. Jones, an archaeologist on a treasure hunt. The adventure was engaging at times, though there were moments when it felt slow, and I found myself losing interest. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, but not one I would read again.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for this ARC.

3 words. I loved it. Such a good story. Easy to read. A little bit of romance. Or a lot of it. Couldn't put it down once I started it.

Wow this book was so frustrating.

I did not believe the connection between the two main characters and the side characters connection felt forced. There was 0 chemistry between any of the characters.

The only interesting part of this whole book were the locations they went to on their adventure. That's it.

The premise sounded so promising with this book, but it was a massive let down.

Thank you though to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for giving me the opportunity to read and review this novel! The book will be someone's cup of tea, just not mine.

This book is:
- Low suspense
- Mutual yearning medium burn
- Traversing around Colombia trying to stay ahead of competitors
NOT Indiana Jones or a rom-com.

The characters were quite flat to me. I got a bit frustrated with Adriana and how she at first very much was hung up on her dad not being there, then about not believing in love, and then being hung up about growing up on a trailerpark and not having finished college.

Andrew was even more flat. Maybe because we do not get his POV? He seems into Adriana, but never acts upon it and he seems very avoidant of opening up. For the longest time I thought he might be the fake MMC to divert the reader's attention or something (á la ACOTAR).

William was a superfluous character to me. I did not see his added value to the story or the quest.

The plot itself sounded very interesting. However, as I've said before, this book doesn't have much suspense or high stakes that got me excited and att the edge of my seat. It moves on decently, but I wasn't stopping all activities in my life to keep coming back to read this book. If you enjoy this style of book then great it could totall be for you! i just enjoy more action.

The writing itself I enjoyed. It didn't feel juvenile or illogical. Everything was very coherent and easy to follow. I just didn't understand the random dictionary style definitions of words every once in a while. It was not consistent enough to provide a quirkiness to Adriana's personality. Just seemed off.

A cute light hearted read, that was very quick paced and easy to read. The adventure aspects of the story were a great change from everything I’ve read recently which added a fun twist!

The love story was the obvious focus on the story but for myself did feel like we were lacking a little bit of character depth/building in sacrifice to the overall adventure story. It made the characters a little two dimensional but if you’re after a quick paced fun read then that doesn’t really take anything away from the story! I’d describe as an ideal holiday read, the stakes are low, I didn’t feel overall invested in the characters and it was a fun time.

Okay, yes, I was sold by the title alone. I mean, is there anyone out there who can read Digging Dr. Jones and not hear it in Short Round’s voice?! With those big shoes to fill, I dug in... and loved it. Treasure hunting with a hot archaeologist? Sign me up. Add a touch of yearning, another team hot on their trail, a buried treasure, and some long-awaited spice, and Mama’s a happy girl.

On vacation in Costa Rica with her brother William, Adriana never expected a mysterious bracelet to be delivered to her room, or everything that would come with it. Enter: Andrew Jones. Excessively tall, drop-dead gorgeous, and, oh yeah, a very determined archaeologist.

There’s just one hitch: the bracelet won’t come off, and Andrew needs it. Which means Adriana is now along for the ride. She has to join him to unlock a pirate’s chest that could lead them to a long-lost treasure deep in the jungles of Colombia. Sounds easy, right?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s fast-paced but still a slow burn, just how I like it. Andrew and Adriana were lovely. Truly lovely. Their journey made my heart sing. It was sweet, honest, and then... oh, so smutty. It gave me Romancing the Stone vibes (which is very high praise coming from me).

I’m so happy I got the chance to read this one. Highly recommend!

This was so cuute!!

It’s giving: rom-com, Indiana Jones, a quest, friendship and so much yearning.

It was a bit cringey at times, but definitely enjoyable!

When Adriana Jones receives a mysterious package containing a bracelet, she immediately puts it on. The package was meant for Dr. Andrew Jones, who needs the bracelet to unlock a secret treasure hiding in South America. When Adriana can't take the bracelet off, she's dragged to Colombia with Dr. Jones as he searches for the hidden treasure. The pair finds themselves in one dangerous situation after another, racing against the clock and another team of treasure hunters to get to the finish line first.

Recommended for fans of adventure novels who don't mind some romance added in.

Who would have thought that an Indiana Jones style romance was something I needed. This was such a fun and lighthearted read. I loved every second.

The adventure aspect immediately appealed to me and I definitely think it’s a new romance sub-genre that I will be obsessed with.

Digging Dr Jones is a refreshing new addition to romance and I’m excited to see what swoon worthy adventure Olivia Jackson takes us on next!

3.5 stars

This book follows Andrew and Adriana, who are on a quest to find ancient lost treasure after a mishap means that the bracelet needed to unlock the treasure is stuck on Adriana's wrist. This book follows the journey of them travelling Columbia in order to find the treasure. I really enjoyed the first half of this book. The relationship between Andrew and Adriana was funny, and I enjoyed how they were begrudgingly together. I enjoyed the relationship that Adriana has with her brother, who is also on the trip. I liked the adventure aspect, and the tension between them was sooo good. The last third of the book is where it lost me. There was too much spice that felt unnecessary, and there were one two many plot twists. The epilogue was cute, and I did overall enjoy this book!

Digging Dr Jones

3.25 / 5 ⭐️

2.5 / 5 🔥

This book was definitely more focused on the relationships rather than the adventure aspects which I found made the pacing a bit slow for my preference. The slow burn/ angsty desire between the MMC and FMC hit the nail on the head though! It was soooo delectable!

All in all , a bit of a predictable read but an excellent pallet cleanser

This book is for you if you like :

Adventure romance
Forced proximity
Slow burn

4⭐️ that was so much fun!!

I desperately needed this book! It was the perfect little escape and I had the absolute best time reading it. We follow Adriana who is currently on vacation with her brother and ends up getting a package with a bracelet inside. She of course decides to put it on and that’s when Dr. Andrew Jones enters. He’s a 6’6 British professor with heterochromia and hunts for treasure on the side! There was a mix up and that bracelet was supposed to go to Andrew but it’s now not able to come off, so he offers Adriana a proposition to come with him to Columbia because that bracelet is actually a key.

This book is perfect if you’re looking for a fun romance with adventure that gives Indiana Jones vibes! I also wasn’t expecting it to be as spicy as it was wow. I had an absolute blast reading this!
