Digging Dr Jones is sexy rom-com with plenty on offer to keep readers entertained., It's a bit of a cross between the various Indiana Jones stories and Romancing The Stone, as struggling business owner Adriana teams up unwillingly with archaeologist Dr Andrew Jones in search of treasure that is linked to a bracelet which she has put on and can't get off. The story moves rapidly through different South American locations, each with their own appeal and their own dangers. There are plenty of plot twists as well as greedy antagolists, who will apparently stop at nothing to beet Adriana and Andrew to the prize. Then there is the chemistry between these two, and it is off the charts. I loved watching their emotional engagement building as their relationship grew closer. This book kept me on my toes from start to finish and was a thoroughly entertaining read.

Thank you Harper Collins for my gifted copy. All opinions are my own.

This was such a fun and steamy ride. Adriana meets Andrew Jones when she puts on a mysterious bracelet that was delivered to her by mistake. They end up going on an adventure together (with her brother William) to remove the bracelet and try to find lost treasure.

I had so much fun with this! Adriana and Andrew had great chemistry and banter. Her brother. William, was also a fun side character. I liked how Adriana was skeptical at first, but really got into the mystery. Adventure romance seems to be a newer subgenre and I’m here for it! I’d recommend this for fans of movies like Romancing the Stone and books like Code Word Romance or Temple of Swoon.

Insta love works only in certain, quite rare cases, and this wasn’t the case. The MC was whinny and annoying plus the writing was not to my taste.

This is the kind of book you’ll want to devour in one sitting—fun, sexy, and full of adventure. I adored the banter between Adriana and Andrew. Their opposites-attract dynamic is pure gold—she’s all chaotic energy and quick wit, while he’s the brooding, brilliant professor who can’t resist her charm. The forced proximity (thanks to a cursed—er, "enchanted"—bracelet) leads to hilariously awkward and swoon-worthy moments. This isn’t just a romance—it’s a full-blown treasure hunt! From jungle treks to cryptic clues, the adventure keeps the story fresh and exciting. And yes, the spice delivers. The slow burn is delicious, with tension so thick you could cut it with a machete. Adriana’s brother, William, is a scene-stealer. His meddling and one-liners had me cackling. My only minor quibble is that the romance moves fast (hello, insta-lust!), but given the high-stakes adventure, it kinda works. The ending wraps up neatly, though I wouldn’t have minded more jungle peril, more banter, more Andrew being adorably flustered.

Perfect for fans of "Romancing the Stone" vibes and adventure romances that don’t skimp on the fun. Highly recommend! (And now I need a sequel—or at least a spin-off for William.)

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC!

I found the FMC unbearable and the MMC wasnt much better. I thought it would be very different based on the description but it was kind fo a let down. I thought it would be fun and cute but it didnt really flow. The MMC is grumpy but not in a good way and not in a way that worked for me. Like he has to convince a woman to go with him to a different country and he does that with lots of money? That is not the romance and flirty charmer I was hoping for. And she was just complainy and shallow. I guess this might be on me but it just wasn’t working.

This book was everything I needed after a few very heavy, dark romantasy books back to back. The perfect pallate cleanser- funny, sexy, not too serious and will have you singing “Doctor Jones” by Aqua the whole time 😌

This book was such a fun time!! I loved how adventurous and funny it was. It really hit the Indiana Jones void in my heart.

I really liked how we dived straight into the plot and the characters got to work together straight from the get go. I had an absolute blast and lots of laughs!!

Overall I had a great time and the romantic relationship really suited the story!!

I've been searching a book who could deliver on Romancing the Stone and Indiana Jones but more updated and this one did! I loved that the story involved a romance while taking the reader along for an adventure of a treasure hunt. You're exploring the sites and clues with the leads. The cover also drew me in with its genre vibes of a tropical quest. However, there are parts that felt unoriginal to the point I knew who the author's fan cast was before I saw for myself based on movies in the genre. (Side note: There's moments that gave me pause for how something comes across as ignorant but I wasn't sure if I was being to nitpicky because I want these stories to get a revamp with respect to the cultures). Also, it feels a bit weird at time when the siblings share very intimate details with each other and some of the story's conflicts feel underdeveloped or introduced too late for a proper conclusion. Still, I had fun with the leads! The couple is charming and I enjoyed how they work together throughout the way.

Digging Dr. Jones has me invested from the first few pages! Adriana believes she got a bracelet from a deal and puts it on. But this is much more than a fashion accessory..... it's a key to unlock treasure. Needing her arm as it won't come off, Adriana agrees to an adventure with professor Andrew.

This book is pure vibes- you need to go in with an open mind and ready for an adventure. There are multiple scenes that had me rolling my eyes and wanting to flip through faster. Things seemed quick to wrap up towards the end and I wish that was more fleshed out. However; I overall had a fun time and would recommend for those wanting something silly.

This book was such a surprising read for me - I had not been sure what to expect but it was so satisfying. A cross between Raiders and Romancing the Stone in terms of adventures and non-stop action. There's a girl ...Adriana - desperate to get her business up and running, a guy.. Andrew an archeologist - a too smart but interpersonally challenged hero and an incorrigible brother .... and a bracelet. There is one madcap adventure after another but somehow it works. There's betrayal, romance, quite a few laugh out loud moments and just a great ride. If you are looking for something a little different in your romance reading try this one. It'll widen your romance choices beyond your norm and make you smile in the process. I was glad I did.

I've been so excited for this book. The title sold me and I'm a sucker lately for archaeology romance/ adventure. This read was a lot of fun. I just wish there was a physical copy for my shelf. (correction... I found that a physical copy could be ordered via the big A.)

If you’re looking for an adventure action mystery romance book with humour and spice, may I recommend Digging Dr Jones by Olivia Jackson?

This debut is a romp of a book, and perhaps may inspire you to plan a trip to the jungles of Colombia - or maybe a wine bar… or a museum…. Or a resort where you can relax without having to deal with a bracelet that won’t come off, a quest to find a lost treasure, and a villain who is following your every move.

Dr. Andrew Jones and Adriana Jones (same last name, no relation!) cross paths when Adriana accidentally puts on a bracelet Andrew was meant to receive - it was an honest mistake! This results in Adriana traveling with Andrew - with her delightfully entertaining brother William in tow - to remote villages, jungles, and waterfalls on a mission to find and protect an ancient treasure.

Toss in some major attraction between Andrew and Adriana, some forced proximity, and a meddling brother and of course it’s gonna get interesting!

This is a fun, quick and light read. Perfect for when you’re sitting by the pool or at the beach and you just want to relax and have fun.

Olivia is a delight of a person and her charm and humour shines through her words. I’m excited for her forthcoming books!!

I don’t usually like insta-love but I feel like it worked in this book. The whole thing was fast paced and an easy read and even though it was insta-love it felt like there was a decent chunk of the book where they were just yearning for each other. I really liked the adventure aspect as well

I did have to 'dnf' this one at 21%. Unfortunately it just wasn't for me. I disliked the insta lust mixed with miscommunication with an annoying brother butting in every other second. I can 100% see the appeal of a fun lil romance this book is offering but it just is not for me.

Thank you for sending me this arc though!

This book was a blast. Think Indiana Jones but make it horny. The adventure setup was fun, the vibes were vacation core, and the banter between the leads made me smirk more than once. The spice level was solid. Nothing too wild but enough heat to keep things interesting.

That said, while I had a great time, it didn’t completely knock it out of the park for me.. The pacing was fast, which made it easy to read, but I didn’t feel super connected to the characters. It was all a bit quick, like romance on a speed run. I wanted a little more meat on the emotional bones, you know? I actually found it quite hard to want to continue reading, I really wasn’t drawn in as much as I would have liked

There were also some heavier moments early on that felt a little out of place. I came here for sun, smooching, and shenanigans, and suddenly we were diving headfirst into trauma town without a seatbelt. The FMC’s growth was nice, but the conflict near the end felt like it came out of the Pick Me Girl Handbook.

Overall, Digging Dr. Jones is flirty, fun, and fast paced. It didn’t quite give me all the substance I wanted, but it delivered a good time with a side of steamy archaeology, and really, who can complain?

As a huge Indiana Jones fan I really love the archeology in this book and the adventure. This was a sweet interesting quick read that was just what I needed and would be the perfect read for this upcoming summer. The banter and chemistry between the two main characters is great and it had me giggling and kicking my feet more than once.

*Thank you so much to Harper Collins UK/One More Chapter for a free copy of the book in exchange for a honest review, it really means a lot that you trust little old me!*

Let's start with the good things... shall we? The chemistry was really well written. I liked the growth the FMC went thru, and enjoyed the smut. I also think it was well written. The Indiana Jones Meet Cute vibes were Definity there. This book also has very fast pacing that as someone who is in a very bad reading slump, I can appreciate. Also, Cover art Definity makes me want to read this book, so there's that.

Now on to the bad things. First off, the sibling relationship was a little weird. As someone who has siblings, I would feel weird talking in detail with my brothers about sex. I feel that the relationship would be better if they were "family by choice" especially given the FMC's background. Second, there was wayyyy to much trauma dumping in the beginning. When I am reading a romcom, especially a warm and fluffy one like this advertised, being bombarded by how hard the FMC's life is not the move. Third, the FMC and the overall conflict in the novel, felt very pick me girlish. The idea that "you will never understand me no matter what" is very picky me girl. The whole conflict felt a little stupid to be honest. Fourth and finally, while I do appreciate the fast pacing, the relationship in the actual novel was very much rushed, and felt like it was almost instant.

Adriana Jones ends up with a bracelet that was actually meant for Andrew Jones, who is an archaeologist who needs the bracelet to find an ancient lost treasure. However, the bracelet will not come off so Adriana ends up accompanying him on his quest in the jungles of Colombia. Maybe Adriana will find a lot more treasure than she bargained for...

This is such a cute, spicy romance. I thought the treasure hunt adventure aspect was so interesting and really added another layer to Adriana and Andrew's characters, as well as seeing them fall for each other. Although the romance happens over a short amount of time, it didn't feel like it - it actually felt like the main characters had known each other for a lot longer than they had and felt natural that they gravitated towards each other. I love how both of their flaws (especially Adriana's) were explored and then overcame - it was refreshing to see them both being relatable and feel like real people. Another of my favourite characters was Adriana's brother, William - he was absolutely hilarious and I loved his and Adriana's sibling bond.

I had such a fun time imagining the settings in this book - they sounded so rich and lush, that it felt easy to picture where they were in the story. It also helped to make me feel absorbed in this story because I flew through it so fast, as I was hooked! The only thing I had an issue with but didn't deduct any stars for was the ending - I wish that it was a little longer just so everything could be answered without feeling like it was a bit rushed to squeeze everything in.

Thank you One More Chapter and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book early, in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked the premise of this one and it’s a great holiday read. If you’re not on holiday reading it, it’ll make you want to book a trip immediately. I was hoping for more of a slow burn but I enjoyed the adventure!
