this is the second book in a series about Gina and Dorothy. I love that they were older women. Loved the book, it can be read as a stand alone, as I have not read the first book.

This was a lovely book about friendships. Old friends Gina and Dorothy are back with the second book in this series, Gina is working as a writing companion in France when Dorothy is on holiday there. It’s a lovely story with a perfect setting. Leaves a smile on your face. 4 star read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

I loved catching up with Gina and Dorothy! In this instalment, Gina, 71 and newly single, heads to the South of France to provide companionship for a short while to an elderly couple, Meredith and Gerald.
This is the second book in the 'Old Girls' series and whilst this book can be enjoyed on its own, I would recommend reading “Old Girls Behaving Badly” so you can get to know Gina and Dorothy a bit better.
The perfect feel good read!!

The cover of this book got my attention and I knew I had to read it. Loved the characters and would love to read more books with these wonderful and funny characters.
I received this book from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

Love the older characters and love their adventure! It was a pleasure to read this story with such great characters and a fun premise!

It was great to catch up with Gina and Dorothy who previously appeared in Old girls behaving badly. However this book can be read as a standalone.
Gina goes to France to help an elderly couple as a companion on Dorothy’s suggestion. What follows is a story full of mystery and humour. I was worried at first Dorothy would not appear much in the book but I was glad as the story progressed that she did.
There were plenty of great well written characters and I really enjoyed this story. I can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks to NetGalley, Kate Galley and Boldwood Books for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

✨3 stars✨
This was a really quick read and I enjoyed the setting of the chateau in the south of France.
However, this was just an okay read for me because I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters and felt that some of the point of views used didn’t really add anything to the plot. This meant that the switch in narrator was quite jarring at points. I also didn’t realise that there was a book that was published before this one which is about how Gina and Dorothy met and became friends. If I had read that first I may have enjoyed this more.
Although it wasn’t for me, if you have read and enjoyed this author’s other works then I would still recommend this to you as you might get more out of it!
I received an ARC from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

Book 2 of Gina and Dorothy’s “Old Girls Behaving Badly” relationship finds Gina in France as a companion to elderly couple, Meredith and Gerald. As Meredith navigates being a full-time caregiver to her husband, Gerald, who has dementia, she finds herself with a broken arm in need of her own help.
On the suggestion from Dorothy, Gina takes the opportunity to help Meredith - but with more than being a companion. Dorothy has enlisted Gina to not only help Meredith, but to see what she is up to with regards to writing a memior. Dorothy is afraid that the memior will reveal a secret that she has been hiding. What starts out as a simple favor for Dorothy and a job for Gina turns to a story of friendship, love, and resilience.
With humor and a little mystery thrown in to complete this well-written story, Kate Galley delivers an enjoyable read from beginning to end. I have not read the 1st book in this series, but I am looking forward to reading it, as well as everything else Galley has to offer. Thank you Netgally for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. 5 ⭐️

An enjoy read. I did enjoy the story, the humour and the drama that unfolds, but was to slow paced for me.

Another fantastic read that follows Gina, a 71 year old lady recently separated and living on a houseboat, finding new friends and new adventures!
Gina has been asked by her friend Dorothy, to travel to France to help, as a companion to Meredith, a friend from her past, that is about to write her memoirs. Dorothy is concerned that secret's long since forgotten will be written so she has asked for Gina's help to see that this doesn't happen.
Making new friends, young and old, discovering new and exciting places and helping to catch a thief that has been stealing items from the Chateau is keeping Gina on her toes.
A wonderful fun and witty story, not to be missed!

Absolutely fabulous book. I’d unfortunately missed the first book and expected something very different from the storyline that panned out. This was engaging with a touch of mystery but focused very much on the importance of family. I loved Neredith and Gerald’s story and how Gina handled their situation. I also loved the setting Ian’s more than once found myself looking up Cezanne and his art work. Although I was sad to finish this , it gives me the opportunity to catch up on the first novel.

I thought this book was really sweet! Overall, I enjoyed it. I liked how bright and funny Dorothy was. I think the overall storyline of reconnecting and finding resolution was touching. I do think a few things were a little random and dragged. Maybe Lucien’s story didn’t feel as relevant to me? But I enjoyed it.

What a joyous read.
This is a story that shows life doesn't end at 40 50 or sixty, and it also shows you're never too old for an adventure.
It is fun fun fun and I loved it .. I am going to read it again again ..it's fabulous

This is the first time I have read this author and I really enjoyed this story about seniors since I am one too. Gina's husband left her after 40 some years of marriage. She met Dorothy Reed when she was her caregiver for a week and she moved in the boathouse on her property. Dorothy then found her another caregiver job sitting with an old friend of hers Meredith, who was a romance writer and was going to write about her life. Gina went to the chateau meeting Lucien and Beatrice who were were taking care of the place while Hugo and Rose traveled to there son Oliver , who was in an accident. There were several thefts at the chateau and Gina was the sleuth. Find out why she went and what happened while she was there.

The first ‘Old Girls’ book was brilliant as was this one. A great fun read with two friends on an adventure. An uplifting humorous read.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review. It was great fun!

If this doesn’t speak romcom perfection I don’t know what does!… I was so delighted with the warm fuzzy feeling this book left me with

The Old Girls' Chateau Escape is a worthy follow-up to the first book in the series, Old Girls Behaving Badly.
This time, our cast is mostly in France, which makes a delightful scene change and allows Art Historian Gina to thrive.
While she once more takes on the role of companion to an older couple, Gina has been tasked with uncovering some secret that Dorothy doesn't wish others to know. What follows is a charming tale filled with some trepidation and a lot of questions, which resolves itself quite beautifully in the final few chapters.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I'm sure readers will be equally entertained by Gina and Dorothy and their antics.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my review copy.

Through her companion and now friend Dorothy, Gina sets off on another adventure. Off to the south of France to be an aide to Meredith and her husband. Gina turns out to be a bit of a sleuth and helps solve problems at the chateau . Dorothy emerges again too. Cosy septuagenarian read

Having read and enjoyed the first Old Girls book, I was pleased to receive this advance copy from the publishers. Once again, this was a story with warmth, humour and a cast of well written, interesting characters. This is a great story that had me invested and I can’t wait to read the third.

Gina, is 71 and her husband decided he needed to go find himself, so she became a companion, to support herself. She is heading to France, to be a companion to an elderly couple, while their daughter leaves to go be with her son, who was seriously injured in an accident. When she arrives, it isn't what she expected, but she takes each day as it comes.
Gina has a way of making the best of what is going on. The place she is staying, hasn't been updated yet, but that is ok with her. Meredith and George, doesn't think they need a companion, but Gina, connects with them, and she is good at her job. While there, she discovers some strange things going on, and her attention to details, helps her figure out what is going on, and brings it all to a satisfying conclusion. The strange things going on, made me wonder, kept me guessing, and seeing the elderly people and the younger generation together, nourished my soul. This is a story, that has a lot going on, but flows so smoothly, that I felt like I was right there with them, just taking each day as it came.
I received an ARC from Boldwood Books through NetGalley.
