Well! This is my first Daniel Hurst book and it did not disappoint! Easy, short chapters, fast paced and I loved the chapters being from alternate perspectives. I’m grateful to Netgalley for giving me an ARC of this book and I’ll definitely be recommending it to others. I’m glad I’ve got more of his books on my shelf to binge!

Daniel Hurst's The Husband needs to be bumped to the top of your TBR this year! This story was packed with twists that will keep you guessing until the final page. It had sooo many themes -- trust, deception, and buried pasts--to name a few.

I loved the dual perspectives of Jenny and Lachlan, which each chapter unfolding a massive web of secrets.

It’s a binge-worthy read—ideal for a weekend escape into suspense.

While it was entertaining enough and the premise intrigued me, this has too many plot holes and awkward dialogue for me. I usually like multiple POVs, though here both seemed a little silly and not realistic in the way they thought about things. I hate to give a low rating, and of course, other readers may feel very differently, so it it sounds intriguing, give it a try, It is a quick read.

I really enjoyed this and the dual aspect of the reader knowing he was a killer and the family being in the dark. Full of suspense

This was a tense, gripping thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. The twists were well done and the characters felt real and layered, which made the story hit harder.

A few moments slowed down for me, but overall it’s a solid, page-turning read if you love psychological suspense with emotional depth.

The Husband is a fast-paced psychological thriller that explores the unsettling secrets hidden within a decades-long marriage. When Jenny’s daughter becomes obsessed with a true crime case from her husband Lachlan’s hometown, Jenny begins to suspect her husband may be hiding something dark.

Told from both Jenny and Lachlan’s perspectives, the novel builds tension steadily, though some plot twists may feel predictable. Still, Daniel Hurst delivers a gripping story that fans of domestic thrillers will enjoy.

Thank you Bookouture, Daniel Hurst and Netgalley for the Arc of The Husband.
Narrators Lucy Paterson , Angus King

Having read a few of Daniel Hursts books, I have always really enjoyed them but I do enjoy the stand alone thrillers more than the series ( Just personal preference ) The Husband literally grabbed my attention and read/listened to in 1 sitting while out walking. I just couldn't put it down. This is from a duel POV of a Husband and Wife. On the outside they seem very happy but on the inside, someone is holding a secret.

This is a very quick, dynamic, engaging read which just gathers momentum over the course of the book. I love both our MC,s, Lachin and Jenny and because it from first POV, we get into the characters thoughts more. I wouldn't say they are super developed but definitely developed enough to keep you engaged.

Lucy Paterson and Angus King were fantastic narrating this fast paced psychological thriller.

Another go to author who I know will be a great read. This book has alternating chapters between the 2 main characters - we know one is a murder, but the other character doesn’t know about her husbands past. From the prologue I was hooked, wanting to know what happens to everyone in this domestic thriller. A good page turner of a story with some tense chapters that I was holding my breath while reading.

This is my first by Daniel Hurst but it is now going to lead me down a rabbit hole and into the Daniel Hurst bookverse. I really liked the writing style (reminds me a bit of my FM) the twists were great but not so many that I couldn't keep track of things. It has some unsettling vibes to this book but DANG is it good. Definitely a MUST read. Especially if you are a FM fan - IYKYK. Just read it.

Once again another amazing book from Daniel Hurst. I think I’ve read nearly every one now and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. I’d definitely recommend to fans of Daniel and anyone who wants a good suspenseful mystery!

I enjoy all of Daniel Hurst's books and discovered them thanks to recommendation from Freida McFadden's facebook group. I found this particular book to be unique from some of the other plots. It was intriguing to know that Lachlan was the killer and to get his perspective, which we do not always get in books. I also liked how this unsolved murder finally gets solved and enjoyed how the mom and daughter became obsessed with the true crime podcast. I can see how his writing has grown over time and really think this is one of the best (aside from The Doctor series, which I is so brilliant!)

I was able to figure out what was going on too easily with this book. So, its not rated very high. I like books better where I don't know or can't figure out what the ending will be .
