I am so happy and proud to say that I received this book from NetGalley as an ARC reader. As an ARC reader, I am given the honor of reading books before they are published and creating a review of the book gifted. Daniel Hurst has been one of my favorite authors since 2022 and every time I get to read one of his books, I am always captivated! This book had me from the Prologue. “Nobody’s husband is perfect.” What a poignant statement! Very true but thank goodness my hubby isn’t that far off from perfect! Hee, hee I loved his character development and was able to relate to his characters. I couldn’t put the book down because of the well-written story. An easy recommendation from me to you…you will love this new thriller from Daniel Hurst!

Quite possibly my favorite Daniel Hurst book to date! Such a clever plot of a seemingly "do gooder" family man with so many hidden secrets. Lots of twists, unexpected surprises and a jaw dropping ending!

From the very first page, I couldn’t put this book down!
I am a sucker for a psychological thriller and having read a few of Daniel Hurst books now, this one became a firm favourite!

I loved the plot of the book, it is nicely written even though a little bit predictable at some times. This combination made me wanting to keep on reading.
I would recommend it to friends, family and readers of Frieda McFadden as the style of writing is quite similar to her stories.
Thank you to NetGalley and Booksouture for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader's Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest opinion.

Daniel is one of my favourite authors. He writes super fast which is fab as I read superfamily. Another brilliant read. Totally engrossing.

Told in 2 POVs, this was a chilling thriller that had me flipping the pages at maddening speed. The storyline is intriguing and I appreciated having Lachlan’s POV. While reading his inner dialogue officially scared me off men; I appreciated having a view of how he got to make the decisions that he did. This is perfect if you enjoy reading unreliable/unhinged narrator books.
There were, however, times I felt that some of the plot points were a bit unrealistic- especially Jenny’s decision to visit Scotland after the documentary comes out. I believe that if the characters and story had a bit more depth and fleshing out, some of those plot points would be more convincing to the reader.
Still, it was an interesting story with an intriguing storyline.

Another amazing book by Daniel! This book shows that you never really know another person - even when they are your husband! Great ending and felt the book was really well thought out! Will definitely be recommending this book to others!

This was a quick and easy read told from two different POVs. I found it to be a slow burn with most of the action packed into the ending and it didn’t quite deliver on the thriller or mystery front. The story reveals key information early on, which took away some of the suspense. However, it still had a solid storyline, and I really liked the wife’s character.

Daniel Hurst's books never disappoint and this one is no exception. I did think it was a slightly different kind of writing to his previous work but no less gripping. Fast paced with twists galore and an ending that was totally unexpected. If you havent read anything by this author, now is the time to start .

As always this author hooked me in and would not let go. Perfect premise of how well do you really know the ones closest to you and ultimately what would you do to protect those you love. Full of secrets and lies and set using true crime this was a joy to read from start to finish. I guessed early on what the husband secret was but such clever writing and character development had me hooked to see how it would plan out. Such a page turner relatable to other lives events. I like the fallout and the final twist had me feeling like what did i just read. I highly recommend this to any mystery lover. Daniel's style means you may become a reader for life as the novels feel relatively sort and are always well paced. I look forward to the next one. Thanks netgallery and author for this cracking 5 star read

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Daniel Hurst delivers yet another intense and suspenseful story with The Husband. The tension builds perfectly, with twists that catch you off guard and a plot that keeps you guessing the whole way through. The pacing is spot-on, making it impossible to put down. Another fantastic read from an author I can’t get enough of!

Many thanks to netgalley, the author and bookouture for approving my request to read this book.
I have read many of Daniel's books before and once I again I thoroughly enjoyed this latest one.
Well written, fast paced and twisty The Husband is a gripping psychological thriller that I personally found very hard to put down-highly recommended of you like this particular genre and a must read if you are a fan of this particular author.

Fantastic book, im a massive fan of Daniel Hurst as his writing style is just so easy to read and follow. The book was such a nice read, it had a twist I did not expect and wasn't able to guess.

Got it! Here’s a four-star review for The Husband by Daniel Hurst:
Daniel Hurst’s The Husband is a gripping thriller that had me on edge from start to finish. The twists were smartly crafted, and the suspense kept building with every chapter.
The narrative was fast-paced and intense, with just enough detail to pull me into the characters’ lives. I appreciated how Hurst explored the complexities of trust, betrayal, and revenge in relationships, making the story feel grounded and relatable.
The ending was surprising and satisfying, though there were moments where I wished for deeper exploration of certain plot points or characters. Nonetheless, the book delivered on its promise of a thrilling and unpredictable ride.
If you enjoy domestic thrillers with twists that keep you guessing, The Husband is a fantastic choice.

This was my first book by Daniel Hurst, and it was such a great start to my reading journey with him!
The book goes back and forth between the husband and the wife, in a game of cat and mouse as the husband works to keep his true self from his wife. The wife slowly realizes that her husband is not all that he seems, not the man she thought she was married to.
A documentary set in the husband's hometown is the catalyst for the action, and I definitely felt my pulse pounding along with the characters' pulses!!
Overall, a good read!
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

Wow I was totally gripped from the first page of this fast paced thriller. Lachlan has the perfect life, a lovely home, a wife and 2 children but what is he hiding? When a documentary about the murder of a young girl in the village he grew up in is shown on tv his life begins to unravel.
A great read with plenty of twists and turns and a brilliant and unexpected ending.
Thanks to Netgalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Another great read by Daniel Hurst! A face paced psychological thriller full of suspense and twists. I would have liked for the characters to have been slightly more developed as I felt like I didn’t get to know them well enough compared to some of his previous books. Overall a great read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my ARC

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
A little repetitive, not up to the author’s usually high standard, .

Anything Daniel Hurst writes, I’m going to read. As with all of his books, this was a quick, easy read with an attention keeping pace and constant action.
The only thing I didn’t love was there was no mystery around who the “bad guy” was, the reader knows from the beginning. There could have been a little suspense added there. But overall, very good book!
Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst, and Bookouture for this ARC!

I have to say that Daniel hurst has a funny way of developing you in a story where you can’t stop until the bitter end. His writing is so addictive and I can’t stop thinking about the book even after I put it down for the night, eager to scoop it up again. This book was raw and intense and right when you think you know what’s gonna happen again, the author throws a curveball and sends your head spinning I love these stories that you think you know the outcome but you were pleasantly surprised with a complete different ending. Kudos Daniel hurst.
