I ended up skim reading this book...I live a good trials trope, but this felt TIRED. Did the author get sick of this series? The writing felt super lazy and I just didn't care about what happened to the characters.

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced reader copy.
This was a series that really captured my attention and didn't let go.

Continues to get better with every book! I was pounded through all 4 books in 4 days so things started to blur together but this book really came through with the world-building and plot being revealed! Estrella learns who her parents are and what her role to play is. Caldris and Estrella are separated for a fair bit of the book but they will fight tooth and nail to be together and the spice does not die down! We have another intense cliff-hanger at the end of this one so hopefully book 5 comes out soon!!

Thank you to Tor for the ARC of this book!
Estrella's character development over the course of this series has been I N C R E D I B L E. Being forced to reckon with her past and to react differently? A+ choice.
But my favorite part? ALL OF THE GREEK MYTHOLOGY REFERENCES. I ate them up. Every single one. Loved it, loved what it added to the story which is already partially about processing religious trauma, and loved how everything was incorporated in a way that stayed relatively accurate to the myth while also weaving into the current cast of characters.
And Caldris. Still love him. He is still peak book husband material and I will NOT accept any slander on that regard.
The addition of additional POVs was also super interesting, because it's starting to show how the story is more than Estrella now--she may play a pivotal role, she may be fate's champion, but it's all MORE than her. And I think that's a message we all need to see right now.
I am SO excited for the next book in the series. We love our serpent queen.

"What Sleeps Within the Cove" by Harper L. Woods is book 4 in the series, and while I am enjoying this series, I do feel like it is starting to drag.

Great addition to this series. Will be impatiently waiting for book 5 after that ending. Enjoyed getting more character history and growth.

There was a noticeable lack in romantic tension that we got in the other books. This book just wasn’t it for me. While you get answers and a conclusion to the series in this book, I don’t think it was a very good one.

This might be my favorite one yet? After book three's ending, I was dying for this installment, and it paid off for me, and I am just waiting for Mab's downfall! The chemistry was great, and you can see Woods's writing get better with each book. I can't wait for five.

Oh my gosh. I think this was my favorite Of Flesh and Bone book yet. Harper broke my heart and slowly stitched it back together. Estrella's journey in this book was just incredible. There was so much growth and development, both for her as a character, and for her relationship with Caldris.
Woods has done an amazing job of expanding the world in each and every installment of this series, and #4 is no exception. What Sleeps Within the Cove gives us more of the fae courts, more of the gods and mythology, and we finally, finally learn who Estrella really is.
I highly recommend this series for fans of JLA, Carissa Broadbent, and Karina Halle.

Thank goodness there are two more books coming because that ending was insane!!!! This book picks up where the last one left off and is more focused on the trials that Estrella must go through while also where her lineage comes from. This is definitely such a fun series and the cliffhangers absolutely kill me but I can't wait for what comes next! It's a great read for anyone who enjoys romance and a world mixed in with Greek + Irish Mythology!

A very long wait between titles has been at the detriment to this series. I should have done a reread but I didn’t have time for it.
I love trials in a fantasy book so I enjoyed that part with Estrella in Tartarus. I really prefer when her and Caldris are together and that didn’t happen for a large portion of the story. Obviously they’re still fighting to get to their HEA which can’t come soon enough for me.
My takeaway at the end was that this book didn’t really advance us any further ahead than the last. There were some reveals but definitely not my favourite in the series.

The delays in releasing this really removed a lot of the momentum for me. I found that the tension and danger were lost while they’re in a different setting. there’s also no romantic tension at this point in the series which is such a detriment to the series.
I loved finally getting answers about Estrella’s bloodline (even though it was very predictable). Caldris is a possessive and obsessive simp still.
I just don’t feel as invested in this series as I used to.
Thank you Bramble/Tor for the arc!

I enjoyed being back in this world series! A very swoon worthy romance with high stakes, you'll forget to catch your breath.

I dnf’d this book at 40%. I just couldn't get into the book. I feel like this series could have been wrapped up in 3 or maybe 4 books. I also felt like the character growth was slow. I was a little lost in the book i think it was just dragged out.

What Lies beyond the Veil was one of the first advanced copies and I am so excited that I was able to read this one as well! I really enjoyed getting to see Estrella travel through Tartarus, and simultaneously seeing what was happening with Caldris and Mab as she fell further into insanity. There were so many crazy twists in this book and I didn't see the ending coming! Overall I loved this book and I absolutely can't wait to see what comes next in this series

Let me start off by thanking the publishers, netgalley and Harper L. Woods for the amazing opportunity to read the stunning 4th installment in this series!!
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice:🌶️🌶️
Can I just start off by saying that for four books Caldris has called Estrella “Little One,” and I absolutely swoon everytime! That being said What Sleeps Within the Cove is another stunner in the Of Flesh & Bone series! I have enjoyed every moment of watching Caldris and Estrella’s relationship grow and become and iron clad bond that cannot be broken, I loved that in this book we were able to get back to some more romantic scenes as I did feel in book three we lost a little of the romance to the plot not necessarily a bad thing but I was swooning left and right over the romance in this book, I have also loved every plot twist and turn, every new revelation, and I even enjoyed that cliffhanger ending though I’m desperate to know what happens next!! All of that to say that the Flesh and Bone series is a must read and What Sleeps Within the Cove will not disappoint anyone looking for a story bursting at the seems with an amazing plot, characters you’ll love and characters you’ll despise, romance that’ll leave you swooning, plenty of spice and a cliffhanger that will leave you agasp!
*Potential spoilers for books 1-3 ahead*
In What Sleeps Within the Cove we pick up immediately in Tartarus where Estrella has been sent by the mad Queen Mab to collect a snake from the crown of Medusa and bring it back to her under threat of Caldris’ life should she fail. Estrella is not known for her give up attitude though especially when her mate is at stake so Estrella takes on another challenge with her head held high. What Estrella doesn’t know is that Tartarus has been waiting for her though…waiting to test her strength, waiting to test her magic, waiting to test her very soul. Meanwhile, while Estrella faces off against trial after trial Caldris is worried about one thing… how to descend into Tartarus himself to help or even save his mate, the women he loves, the women he would do anything for. A task that’s proving most difficult when Mab is refusing to let him anywhere near the Cove. But to quote Jurassic Park “life finds a way,” or in the world of Flesh and Bone the God of Death finds a way to his mates side no matter the cost. And after Tartarus rips almost everything they knew and are apart there is only one trial left… one trial to give Estrella and Caldris the advantage they need over Mab and to save the lives of so many trapped under her ruthless thumb… But not everything is as it appears and when I tell you that cliffhanger ending will leave you gasping, shocked, mad at more than a few characters, and perhaps even shedding a few tears it’s all true at least it was for me. This series is one that is not to be missed and I can’t wait to see what’s to come next in the amazing Flesh & Bone series!

Book four picks right back up where What Lurks Between the Fates left off. Estrella is now banished to Tartarus and has been seperated from her mate Caldris. Estrella is tasked with completing the Trial of Five Rivers. Each trial is based off a different human emotion. We also finally learn more about where Estrella comes from and her family.
Oh Mab, what a cruel and heartless creature. Always playing the victim. Girl is even more unhinged, but I secretly love it.

Seeeee okay I see you now series. Listen it’s not all I wanted from the peoples but I can see the direction here

This book was intense and so much fun. Some questions were answered but I NEED MORE. Apparently we have 2 more books coming and I can't wait for those!

I think this one has been my favorite so far. The challenges and trials Estrella must go through were so intricately woven, but I absolutely need to know what happens next. There's another one coming, right?.....right????
Estrella and Caldris are fighting to be together and complete their mate bond, but Mab continues to deny them andmake them suffer. With her last request, Mab has sent Estrella on an impossible task in Tartarus. She has no idea what she's about to face from Caldris's wrath, and that of her own court as she continues her descent into madness.
Fate itself unfolds as Estrella makes her way through the trials, learning more about herself than she ever thought there could be. I could not put this one down!
