I was lucky enough to receive a preview of this book for my first net galley review. if you are looking for a bridgerton era , ‘who is this mystery woman’ story, then this is for you. Already I know Lady/Aunt Adelaide will be stirring up drama with her arrival. If the witty one liners are any indication of how this family gets along, I am all in for it !! I will definitely be continuing this book when it is released !
Thanks to Emma Theriault and Entangled Publishing, LLC for allowing me access to this preview

Jasper, the new Earl of Belhaven, is still reeling from losing many he cared about to scarlet fever (including his older brother, his parents, and his beloved Annabelle). He has sworn to himself that he will care for his remaining siblings, but he will never feel love again. While visiting his mother's grave with his sisters, they stumble upon an injured and unconscious young woman laying in the snow. Who is she and what happened to her? This preview sets up the framework for an interesting romantic mystery, as it seems that Jasper may reluctantly lose his heart to this fragile but courageous woman who remembers very little but that she is in danger. Nice supporting characters in his sisters, who are also mourning in their own ways. There are dual POVs, which lends depth to the story. The beginning of the story is engaging and urges the reader to keep going to unravel the mystery. It's tricky to give a star rating based on only a portion of the book, but I give what I read 4 stars rounded up from 3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley for this preview, this has been my objective review.

I've been really excited about this book for a while because the synopsis sounds great and because the author was inspired by writers I enjoy. I have to say that the first five chapters show a very intriguing start to the novel!
I’ve read a lot of historical romances, and it’s very rare to come across one that starts with chapters from the male character’s POV. In this novel, it works really nicely and fits the plot very well.
The writing is crisp, intriguing, and the characters feel multidimensional. I hope the story remains just as promising until the very end.
I will definitely read the whole book.

This is an intriguing start! This preview definitely piqued my interest and made me want to read the rest of the book. The writing style is great. I like all of the characters so far; they may be a bit familiar and tropey, but they are enjoyable. Furthermore, the mystery aspect of the plot is certainly engaging. Though I’m not sure about the realism of some aspects of the story, I’m interested enough to read on and find out more about “Jane” and Jasper.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the free preview. I post this review with my honest opinions.

This is just a preview of the book so my thoughts are just based off the preview of the first few chapters.
I think it's an interesting start - the overall premise is a mystery involving a person who has lost their memories and trying to unravel the background behind why she were found injured and afraid that night.
I liked the initial atmosphere that was created and the description. Later on, the book started to feel less subtle and almost overly direct - with every character getting in on wanting to unravel the mystery - and I think it may have been better to slow the pacing and have the investigation into the mystery unravel more naturally - and primarily driven by Jasper - who heard her words from that night.
However, decent start and I think I would be interested to read the rest of the book once it releases.

The first and (probably) last regency book I read, and I can't believe I have to wait so many months to discover what happens next. But it’ll be worthy!
Thanks very much to the publishing house and NetGalley.
