Annabel Monaghan delivers another funny, sweet romance story. Itβs a Love Story showcases her Annabelβs fun personality and readers of her others books with enjoy this story work enemies turned lovers.

I just loved this book - the characters were messy and complicated and I love them together. A perfect quick beach read that also has some depth and makes you long for more. I have loved all of her books and this one was so good. At the end she says her character was inspired after reading Jennette McCurdy's memoir - adding that to my list!

Annabel Monaghan gives us another fun rom com with all the happy heart feels!
Former child star Jane Jackson finds love over breakfast, between her cold pop tart and messy no-heat hair. Desperate to get the green light on a beautiful script, she prepares to swallow her pride and face her past with the company of Dan Finnegan, the worst!
I loved this novel and was excited to see Jeanette McCurdyβs memoir mentioned as inspiration in the acknowledgements.
Thank you Penguin Group Putnam and NetGalley for the early read!

Everything Annabel Monaghan writes gives me butterflies and makes me swoon, and this book was no exception. It delivered all of that and packed an emotional punch. The chemistry between Jane and Dan was off the charts. Without relying on too much spice, Annabel still made us feel the electricity between them. I absolutely adored all the references to The Notebook, and I could vividly picture every scene playing out in my head. Even though this book was told from a single POV, I still felt like we truly got to know Dan and his family. His family might have been my favorite part of the story, and his niece Ruby absolutely stole the show. I love how this story makes you reflect on your role within family dynamics and reminds us that it is okay to be different. This book is the perfect summer read, and I will be swooning over it for a long time.

Itβs A Love Story
Annabel Monaghan
Jane is a formerly famous childhood star, still trying to make it in the industry as a producer. She has an amazing script all ready to go and the only way she can get it under production is with a little white lie. She tells her agency she can get the hottest country star, Jack Quinlan, to do the soundtrack for the film! With the help of her co worker/non friend, Dan, they head to Long Island where Jack is doing a music festival.
Jane and Dan spend the entire week with Danβs family and of course, their distain for each develops into something so much more.
I was rooting for them the entire time and I really wanted all the things to work out well for Jane!
A super cute love story and I am so grateful for this early copy of the book. It comes out on May 27!

Jane, a former nerdy child star, is having a rough time being taken seriously at work. In order to get her project approved, she claimed to be in contact with music superstar Jack, who she hasnβt seen since her teenage heartbreak. Her lies pile up and result in a weekend work trip and fake dating scheme with her coworker Dan, who she canβt stand.
I absolutely love Annabel Monaghanβs writing, and this novel is every bit as much fun as her others. She writes with such charisma and relatability that you canβt help but root for the characters. I think many readers will relate to Janeβs struggles with dating and being likable to men while also being true to herself. I loved all the references to The Notebook, and what a fun twist to have Dan be the huge fan of it and Jane be the one who canβt stand it! Readers who enjoy found family, enemies to friends to lovers, and childhood actors will love this book.
Thank you to Annabel Monaghan and Putnam books for the arc and opportunity to be an early reader and reviewer.

Annabel Monaghan is an auto-buy author for me and this new book didnβt disappoint. 4.5 stars rounded down. It was forgettable and predictable, but an enjoyable, feel good, quick read nonetheless. Iβd buy this and recommend it for a lighthearted beach book.

Iβm not gonna lie, I was pretty bored in this book. There are SO many characters in this book & they all had so much dialogue. It did feel very early 2000βs romcom to me which I appreciate the nostalgia of but I had to force myself to finish it. Witty writing but sometimes felt choppy.

I absolutely fell in love along side Jane and Dan in this story! Annabel weaves a realistic and fun enemies to lovers storyline. I love how her characters jump off the page with their complex but relatable personalities. I will read anything she writes!

This one will definitely be one of the books of the summer! Love, friendship, heartbreak, humor, identity...It's a Love Story has it all.
Details of the story notwithstanding, I really loved the characters. They felt like real people, and the kind I would want to know in real life. That's the ultimate thing I am searching for in a story: people I want to cheer for until the end. I am hanging on until the end to see if they grow, change, learn or in rare cases, get their comeuppance.
Put this one on your list!

I just LOVE Annabel Monaghanβs books!!! She knocks another one out of the park. In IT'S A LOVE STORY she manages to entertain AND pull on every single heartstring. If you love second-chance stories with a Hollywood twist, relatable characters, and a romance that develops organically, this book is worth picking up.
The plot of the story technically revolves around getting Jack Quinlan to write a song for their movie to keep up Jane's lie that she's still in close contact with him, but he's barely a part of the story at all. Instead, we get
heartwarming bonding moments as Dan and Jane spend time in Long Island at his family's house - biking, at the beach, etc.
He has a huge family that immediately welcomes her in.

I couldnβt put this book down. I literally told so many people I canβt wait until they can read it. I love Annabelβs ability to build a romantic story that is both light and fun, but deep and meaningful. I will come back again and again to read her books!

Annabel Monaghan writes books with FMC on a journey of rediscovering who she is, or discovering. This one was the latter. A story of two enemies on the hunt to make a script become a movie has Jane diving back into some unresolved childhood memories. And ultimately finding learning to love herself as much as the male main character.
I loved the story that brought the two to his hometown. I also liked the take on child actors as an adult. In the acknowledgments, she wrote if inspiration in reference to Jeannette McCurdyβs memoir. That book has stayed with me since I read it.
Lots of deep internal monologues and over analytical thinking, which some deep romance scenes. The scene with the painting, had me tearing up.
Thank you G.P. Putnam's Sons for this ARC.

I love the sense of humor of this author and how it flows through her books. She writes about people with little quirky traits that are easy to relate to. The book is funny and entertaining while also dealing with some more serious issues. Romance is not my go to genre usually, but this author is a must read for me!

My least favorite trope, enemies to lovers, not only made tolerable but downright delightful.
Did I want to shake Jane and tell her to get out of her own way? Constantly, yes. But in a kind, loving way. Because I want the best for her. I am so endeared to her. To both of them. Iβll miss them. Hell, Iβll miss all of them. The entire family. I sincerely hope theyβre well.
On that note, when I die, please bury me in a perpetual state of meal time at the Finnegan house in Long Island.
Annabel, please keep writing breakfast table romances. Youβre excellent at it.

Annabel Monaghan is and will continue to be an auto-read author for me. Her writing is witty and relatable, she makes smirk-worthy jokes (I had fun sounding out the names of the throat-clearing couple iykyk), and her romance plots make me squeal. That said, this story didnβt captivate me like her other reads. The pacing seemed really off - the plot dragged a bit and then really picked up and then stalled out again in parts. I didnβt find Janeβs character as likable or endearing as Nora or Sam. As always though, I love the bookβs cover art! Thank you to Putnam Books and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is my favorite Annabel Monaghan story to date and I have loved all her books! I laughed, I cried and nobody gave me the ick. The family and friends in this book are incredible. I was genuinely sad when this book was over and wish I had savored it more, but I read it in a day!
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin group for this advanced reader copy from one of my favorite authors. All opinions are my own.

Oh how this book stole my heart. It worked it's way in piece by piece and by the end I was completely head over heels in love with it.
This book follows Jane, previous child actor turned creative executive, who's trying to push a project into production. As her and Dan, a pompous cinematographer, travel to Long Island in an attempt to reconnect with one of Jane's old costars who could write a hit song to catapult the movie.
At the beginning of this book I admit, I was confused who the love interest was going to be. Jane and Dan could not stand each other, and I thought there was no way they would ever work it out. But as Jane and Dan make their way around Dan's hometown surrounded by his hectic family, they both begin to melt their outer shells in the best way possible. The quotes in this book are unmatched, and I loved the way Jane realized how badly she needed a family around her like Dan's. The ending was so. good. and I'm so so happy with the way everything turned out.

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ for this charming read!! Dan is quiet and introspective and has this amazing lively big family full of love. Jane is adorable, but insecure and struggles with her identity and how she feels about love until itβs right in front of her. Learning that vulnerability is hard and it hurts, but that it can lead to new amazing things. Iβm definitely going to go add more @annabelmonaghan books to my TBR and you should, too! Easy, heartfelt prose that makes you just want to keep flipping the pages and wanting more.
Thank you @netgalley and #penguingroupputnam for this #arc of #itsalovestory !

When I finished this book, I looked down and my hand was on my heart. Itβs a Love Story is a beautiful ode to quiet love. Not about explosions and helicopter rides but two glasses of water, one cold and one not. Many years from now I will still be taking this book off the shelf and running my fingers along the annotations. Annabel Monaghan just keeps getting better and better.
