The best part of romance books is how much they make you *feel*. The heart clenching, stomach dropping, tears down your face feeling when a romance book isn’t just simply a romance, but a book that makes you feel seen and understood. Charley’s story is one I relate to so much. The type A, needs to have everything planned out, anxiety inducing panic when things don’t go your way because when that happens, there’s a lack of control that terrifies you. Her family trauma and closeness with her sister was written in a way that only someone who understands that could write it and *feel* it. The friendship, years of pining, and love between Ethan and Charley was so beautifully captured that I simply couldn’t put this book down until I knew how their story would end. Beautifully written, hilarious, heartwarming, and so well wrapped up at the end.

Thank you NetGalley and G.P. Putnam’s Sons for my ARC.

First and foremost, Ellie Palmer, if you are reading this, please be my friend. You are hilarious.

I recently read Ellie Palmer’s debut Four Weekends and a Funeral and loved it, and was so eager to get my hands on her second book. It did not disappoint! I loved this friends to lovers romance as much as I hate toe running shoes. This book is SO FUNNY — I sent several quotes to friends (with no context) because they deserved a broader audience.

This book is so heartfelt and sweet and I can’t wait to see what Ellie Palmer writes next!

Having only just read her debut recently and now reading Anywhere With You I can say Ellie Palmer is officially an auto-buy author for me.

I loved the gender reversal with the personalities - Charley is the uptight one, determined to stick to her rigid life plans while best friend Ethan is the free spirited one. Even though his choice of those toe shoes are gross (ICK!) its clear he's hopelessly in love with Charley, but she stubbornly and rigidly refuses to deal with that spark that will not die.

Charley is frustrating, constantly refusing to see what is in front of her and confront the reasons for her estrangement with Ethan. At times I think she went too far when she shut down conversation. In that respect I wish Ethan went a bit hard-arse on her because she needed to be put in her place earlier.

A fantastic, heartwarming and swoony road trip romance thats well paced with two characters that I became invested in. The yearning, the spark and the banter were well-written.

Thanks to Penguin/Putnam and NetGalley for the ARC.

As someone who enjoyed Ellie Palmer’s debut novel, Four Weekends and a Funeral, I was thrilled to receive an arc for her sophomore novel. In this, Ethan and Charley are childhood best friends and end up on a road trip together to see Charley’s sister get married. Charley is recently divorced and Ethan lives in a van and is more of a free spirit to her very structured life.

I enjoyed the easygoing nature of their relationship and could truly feel their connection. I rooted for them the whole time. The only thing that frustrated me was that Charley was fairly communication averse. I feel like all of the problems she had were fixable if she hadn’t shut down anytime someone tried to have a real conversation with her. I understand that this is due to her upbringing, but I just really hate self sabotage. Otherwise, all of the relationships were so dynamic. I also just love Ethan and his willingness to try. I just wish he mustered up the courage to say something about how he felt much sooner.

Palmer has such a great writing style and voice and whatever she releases next, I will definitely be picking it up.

Anywhere With You was a cute, light-hearted, second chance romance between Charley and Ethan. Friends to lovers with slow-burn mixed in between never fails to entertain me. It is by far one of my favorite tropes, and Ellie Palmer delivered. Her writing style is witty, and the banter between Charley and Ethan, as well as the obvious yearning kept me hooked.

I loved Ethan as a MMC. The way that he was obviously down bad for Charley pulled my heart strings and kept me invested in their love story. I did struggle with Charley’s character throughout the novel. While I wanted to empathize with her, I struggled to, especially when she would blatantly ignore the feelings of those in the world around her. I wanted to see more self-awareness from Charley, and wished we had gotten more character growth.

Overall, this was a 4/5 star read for me. Thank you to Ellie Palmer, NetGalley, and Penguin Group for the ARC!

This was a great friends to lovers rom com! This was my first book by Ellie Palmer, and now I am eager to read her other one! I loved the author’s present day language and felt that added to the humor. Sweet love story. Definitely recommend! Thank you Net Galley for this ARC!

Oh man, TEARS!!!!!! I absolutely loved Four Weekends and a Funeral so I was very excited for this one. I’ve recently grown out of being a friends to lovers hater and if I hadn’t already, this would’ve sealed the deal. THE YEARNING???? Friends to lovers always freakin delivers. Ethan was quite literally down horrendously bad and it made my chest hurt. I love him.

The reason this isn’t a 5 star rating is because Charley’s sister drama annoyed me and made the second half not as enjoyable. I find that I have a short leash when it comes to fictional sister relationships and I didn’t really like this one. Also Charley seemed a bit *too* stubborn at times.

But other than that, this was so cute! I’ll definitely continue looking out for Ellie Palmer’s books.

I ended up DNF'ing this one unfortunately. I just could not get into it. I love a slow burn but this one just dragged on. There was a lot of backstory and fluff that didn't need to be included.

Rating this 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars. I was so excited to get this ARC, as I loved this author’s debut album - that one was a 5 star read for me. This book was a well-executed best friends to lovers book, with fresh, witty writing and flashbacks that actually added to the story.
What fell flat for me in this book was the FMC Charley. I kept getting so frustrated with how she treated her sister and Ethan, despite there being backstory to why she was acting that way (family problems, her divorce). It took her way too long to “come around” and then the book just felt wrapped up in a bow super quickly. I really liked this book for the first half or so, and then just felt like I had to slog through the last 25% which was a bummer!

I liked this book. It was refreshing friends to lovers romance. The emotional depth of the characters made you connect to them. I can't wait to read more by Ellie Palmer.

Okay Charley was so annoying for 75% of the book but she got better! And justice for Petey and Laurel and their chaos

The book was cute. Flash backs of childhood and present. He loves hard. She's afraid. Childhood best friends.

Let me tell you I'm not a huge friend to lovers trope fan but this one worked for me. Charlotte wasn't that perfectly lovable character all the time. From her childhood she has some underlying misunderstanding of what love really looks like and replaces that with the need for security. Ethan will come along side her though and show her what true love looks like, in this beautiful friends to lovers rom com.

""I know you'll wake up every day and love me, because you always have. Even when I didn't know it, I felt it." In the way he treated me, accepted me, valued me. It was always there. I was simply too stubborn to see it."

"I've never been someone who can leap headfirst into the unknown and trust that a net will appear, but I know how to build a good net. Nets are my specialty."

Thank you NetGalley and Ellie Palmer for the opportunity to read this advanced readers copy. I'm loving Ellie Palmer's books so far, I think shes a great new author in the Rom Com world. I had the opportunity to read an ARC of Four Weekends and a Funeral and now Anywhere With You.

This friends to lovers romance follows Ethan and Charley on a road trip while exploring their past and present.
I really enjoyed the backstory given and I think that the dual timeline is super cute and needed for this story. I love their history and their current story. The tension and the passion between them is just so good and so perfect.
The story as a whole was really funny, I found myself giggling a lot. I also love the chapter names. They made me want to keep reading, even after I said I’d stop reading and go to bed after the last chapter. I do wish there was a playlist since music plays such a big role in the book but it’s not needed.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

Anywhere with you is a friends-to-lovers adventure romance following Ethan and Charley in both the present and the past.

After her marriage falls apart, Charley's best friend Ethan comes back in her life just in time for them to roadtrip to her sister's wedding.

It is entirely clear from early on that Ethan is so far gone for Charley and is willing to be patient. He has some shining moments as the MMC.

My hang up is on Charley's emotional journey. She is essentially "not seeing" Ethan or other obvious problem in her life throughout the book and then sees the errors in her way all at once, which just wasn't a satisfying way to reach her resolution for me. I also struggled because she had an ugly fight with her sister where they both said things, but somehow at then end, only Charley is taking responsibility for what was said and that's just okay, somehow.

Unfortunately this book was a very slow read for me. That said, I think my problem's with it had to do with my compatibility with the book and not the book itself!

f you're a fan of authors like Abby Jimenez and Jessica Joyce, you'll love Anywhere with You!

This friends-to-lovers road trip romance follows Charley and Ethan, best friends since childhood. Their bond has endured moves, career changes, and travels—until Charley gets engaged. As her wedding approaches, Ethan starts pulling away, and after her marriage falls apart within a year, she reaches out to him.

They effortlessly fall back into their old rhythm, and Charley couldn't be happier. But when her impulsive sister decides to elope, Charley convinces Ethan to embark on a road trip to stop the wedding. Along the way, they uncover truths about themselves and their friendship that could change everything.

My Thoughts:
I absolutely loved the banter between the characters! The dialogue is sharp, witty, and full of laugh-out-loud moments. I was completely invested in Charley and Ethan, rooting for them to overcome their fears and take a chance on something more. Ethan, the calm and easygoing friend, has hidden depths that make him even more endearing, while Charley, the Type-A planner, slowly realizes that she’s always been Ethan’s first choice.

I highly recommend this heartwarming, funny, and emotional romance!

I really love a good road trip book with cozy heartwarming vibes. And this book was just it!
Ellie Palmer made a good work with Anywhere with you.

The story is best friends to lovers, and I always plotting for those story lines, they are so fragile, so tender.
Charley and Ethan are goals. They are so afraid of losing their friendship. Adorable!

I can recommend this book to everyone who enjoys rom-coms, quick and warm readings. It's very a hard to put down book!

I love Ellie’s writing. She has a way of drawing you in. This book was such a sweet best friends to lovers romance but the sister relationship might be my favorite part. There were also several parts that had me cackling. I’ve been anxiously waiting her next book since and this one definitely delivered!

Thank you SO much to NetGalley and the author for the amazing opportunity to read this book before its release- I am indebted to you. I think that this is my favorite book that I’ve read in a very long time. It all felt so raw and emotional and I loved every minute of it.
I am absolutely in love with Charley and Ethan. It is so clear from the start that they both want the same thing but are so afraid of losing each other again. This story (in multiple ways) is an incredible use of Friends to Lovers and I think until now, I’d forgotten how much I love that trope. I also found all the parallels between the past and the present super interesting. As well as the juxtaposition of Charley and Laurel where they begin on opposite sides with their perspectives on relationships and at some point, it’s almost as if they switch; Charley takes on the role of the pessimist who thinks she wasn’t made for eternal love and Laurel is dead set on rectifying her past mistakes by getting married.
Ultimately, I thoroughly enjoyed Charley and Ethan as well as Lauren and Petey. I finished this book feeling absolutely smitten and wearing a huge smile.

This was very cute. I love a single POV where the MMC has been in love/obsessed the whole time. Overall I really loved this but it did feel like a few things were missing - I feel like she needed a little more work on her inner emotions before going in to her relationship with Ethan. And I feel like her parents were both a big part of her story but also not explored enough. But it was cute and sweet!

I absolutely loved this sophomore novel from Ellie Palmer! From the very beginning, it was an absolute romp! Charley was such a fun character that I instantly related to and was rooting for this whole time. The romantic tension between Ethan and Charley was so deliciously drawn out and I loved being able to see how their past related to everything that was happening in the present. I felt like this whole novel was a rom-com that I could definitely see on the big screen one day! This was a super short and fun read that I think anyone who loves a good rom-com will really enjoy! Thank you so much to NetGalley, Penguin Group, and Ellie Palmer for allowing me to read and review this!!
