Ry and her mother go to Spain for her mother’s job. There Ry meets Julian and a connection is formed.

I did not enjoy this book and I would not have finished it if it weren’t for this review. To me, this book felt boring. I didn’t connect with the characters or their stories. Reading this book felt like a chore rather than an escape from reality.

I had high expectations for the book because of Anna Todd’s other books, specifically the after series, but it just fell flat for me.

If I could give this book a million stars I would. I have been an Anna Todd fan for years, and if I wasn’t already, I would for sure be now. This beautiful story about mental health and medical issues. Oriah and Julian have a beautiful love story and it broke me in more ways than one. A million stars and a standing ovation of this one!

The Last Sunrise written by Anna Todd

*Medical / Mental health issues
*Summer romance
*Parental drama

This is my first Anna Todd book and I was pleasantly surprised with the story! I expected the typical playboy MMC and virginal FMC, thankfully neither of those were included in this story.

Oriah and her mother are visiting the island that Julian and his father live on for the summer. Oriah instantly connects with a new friend at the hotel they are staying at, that friend leads her to Julian, a local fisherman.

Oriah and Julian form an instalust/love connection agreeing to spend their summer together exploring the island and hooking up. Oriah decides to keep her medical issues from Julian, Julian decides to keep his mental health issues from Oriah.

However, keeping secrets always results in heartache and angst, for the main characters as well as their parents.

No OW/OM drama, no third act breakup!
