This was a very decent thorough examination of Malcolm's life and the view of society after his death. I was very interested in reading this as I am writing my Masters thesis on Malcolm. I will be looking at Whitaker and his work for the future. This definitely contributes to the canon of Malcolm and his image.

I am not 100% done with this read but I have been greatly enjoying it so far. I love reading abou great leaders but I have found that many biographies have a very dull writing style which made it hard to finish for stay engaged. This book has been a refreshing experience so far. I've learned some new things about Malcolm X as well as some connections to current events that I have never really considered or seen before. I'm excited to finish this book and I feel confident that this will continue to be an enjoyable read. I've recommended a few people preorder this as well.

Thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for permission to read this work prior to its release. This comprehensive exploration of Malcolm X’s legacy is as vital as it is timely. From the posthumous release of his autobiography to his influence on music, film, and politics, Malcolm X left a void that could not be filled and an impression that cannot be erased.
