(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

Melbourne, Australia: Round one of the Formula One World Championship. Billy Hotchkiss no longer races a V8 Supercar, but that doesn't mean he's lost the need for speed. When the young cop uncovers a diamond heist in progress he leaps into action and almost captures the thieves single-handedly.
Lyon, France: Interpol are convinced the criminals are somehow connected to Formula One. And they think this Australian ex-race driver is just the guy to stop them.
Sent undercover with an unwilling French partner, Billy is thrust into the glamorous world of international motor racing. But as the duo closes in on the thieves they soon expose a far more sinister threat.
With the fate of a city and the lives of one hundred thousand people in the balance, Billy must drive like never before to stop the worst act of terror since 9/11.

A book straight from the motor-racing world in Australia, this high-octane thriller has a little bit of everything. Adrenaline, mystery, action, thrills and spills...right up my alley, really.

The basic premise is that Billy Hotchkiss, a former V8 Supercar driver, is now a police officer trying to retain that need for action. He gets involved in investigating a diamond heist that throws him head-first into the glamorous (and not so simple) world of Formula One racing. International intrigue based around motor sport. I love that combination.

Billy is an excellent character - so very "Australian" with his dry wit, he was very easy to like. His interaction with French Interpol agent, Claude, were excellent. They were a combination that worked extremely well.

The highlight of this book was the action - non-stop gun fights, car chases (and car races) and explosions makes this a fabulous action novel.

Highly recommended!
