This was an interesting read. I can't say it was a light-hearted, enjoyable read, but it was intriguing and it kept me engaged.

A definite nod to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, it's a novella written from the "monster's" perspective. The monster, Agatha, was a bit disturbing to say the least. She was an electricity junkie who didn't mind killing a few people and drinking their blood.

There were several areas I wish the author had expanded. For instance, the Jack the Ripper theme was really not explored thoroughly. Seeing how this was one of the things that drew me to the book, I was disappointed. The ending was also abrupt. I guess it's good that I wanted more, but it was still a let down.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but there was definite room for improvement. If you go into it knowing it's a novella, a genre which usually leaves you with questions, you won't be disappointed.
