I began this book with complete admiration for Jensen Huang, and really appreciated the way author Stephen Witt treated this book as a work of investigative journalism. The way Huang built his career and technological skills as well as leadership skills was nothing short of impressive. He is brilliant, exacting, and measured. The writing is incredibly well done, in that many complex technological concepts are explained conversationally and it is a very interesting read for anyone who is not in the tech field, as well as those who are.
As the book goes on, we watch his company evolve, first from a hardware to a software company, then to a powerhouse for AI. There are interesting connections between Nvidia and other tech billionaires, such as Huang's consultations with Musk. An interesting passage written about Huang's desire to keep his finger on the pulse of his company, even during the pandemic, revealed that he requested employees send him the five most important things they did that week. He received thousands of emails, then parsed through them to learn more about his company's progress and growth. It seems that Musk took that idea and moved it into government, though it's not clear whether anyone reads any of the emails that are sent back in this instance.
The final portion of the book is a growing alarm about the rise of AI and whether we will be able to control it. Three of the innovators who first used GPUs to connect with a neural network have raised significant alarm, and there is a very real fear. Unfortunately Jensen Huang doesn't seem to agree.

Witt delves into the complex world of semiconductor design and the cutthroat competition that defines the industry. He explores Huang's vision, Nvidia's rise, and the crucial role their GPUs play in everything from gaming to AI. It's a deep dive into the technology itself, but also a story of ambition, innovation, and the global forces shaping the future of computing. If you're curious about what's powering the tech revolution, this book offers a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes.
