Pippa is the glue that holds her family together sinner mother died she’s been there for them all including her aging rocker father Jonny Jones. When her dad asks her to sort out a house he owns in Hartfell she packs herself and her daughter off without question as she always does.
Surprisingly she finds the village holds more about her family history than she ever knew also the house comes with a sitting Tennant Gil the local vet.
Brilliantly written as expected from Suzanne Snow and hoping for further visits to the Hartfell village .
Fantastic read.

I was so pleased to read this book for. Review on NetGalley. I have read all Suzanne’s books and loved them. Took me a few chapters to get into this one but when I did,I didn’t want to put it down. Loved the setting in the country and on a farm. So many great characters too. Pippa and her daughter Harriet are up from London at the instruction of her father who owns the farm. Gil runs the vets practice which is on the farm and was his family home when his gran was alive. Pippa’s dad is a rock star who is travelling the world on a tour, she has siblings who are scattered around the world too. Her being the oldest, they all turn to her and expect her to be available for them. Pippa and Gil don’t get off to a good start but you can see there are sparks there. Gil has tenancy rights to stay in the house but he moves in to an old dilapidated caravan which he puts in the yard. Harriet, who is 14 doesn’t want to be at the farm but she loves animals and gets a job helping at Gil’s aunt Dorothy’s animal shelter as well as a pony on the farm which she looks after. Pippa and Harriet ingratiate themself’s into village life. Harriet meets Alfie and they spend lots of time together. There are comings and goings between Pippa And Gil but you must read it to find out how things all pan out but I can’t wait for the next instalment.

This book is all about balance between family, self, responsibility and desire; and it’s done with warmth, wit, and just the right amount of charm. If you’re in the mood for a story about second chances, love, and finding your place in the world, then this book is your perfect escape.

A mum struggling with her teenage daughter, thrown into an old farmhouse in Yorkshire. Add in a gorgeous grumpy vet. What could possibly go wrong. Brilliant characters, chemistry and scenery. A wonderful book.

Pippa is asked by her rock star dad to go sort one of his houses to sell, she doesnt bank on there being someone living there.
Gil lived in the house were his grandma lived and it still looks the same.
He runs a vets practice in the buildings at the back of the house and is well known with the local farmers.
sparks start to fly but neither of them wants to act on them as Pippa will be going back to London soon.

Hmmm, it took me a while to get into this book. The enemy-to-lovers theme was a bit much, they were almost yelling at each other. But hey, there were alpaca's, so I am good :)

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

A lovely story. You have a teenager, a meddling famous father , a gorgeous vet, a family farm , a slow burn love story. Pippa was the main character and her siblings just relied on and it was lovely how she got stronger. A great ending. Read it .

It took a little bit to get into this story, but once I did I really enjoyed it. Pippa and Hannah are fun characters and the location in Yorkshire Dales is really beautiful. There were some moments that were only okay, but overall I really enjoyed the read.

Beautiful romantic heartfelt read:. I loved the veteran aspect as my father was a veteran. I highly recommend this book to someone looking for a light escapist read.
