I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
OMG the way I want to just gush about this book, but I can't as typing is really difficult so this won't be as long as I want it to be. While I'm sad to see this series come to an end, I am glad that we went out with a satisfying ending for the characters and world. I have been so excited for this book from the moment I learned that it was going to be about Nox - who I have absolutely adored since they first appeared on the page in Hunt On Dark Waters - and then to find out it'd be a why choose Romance made me want it even more so getting approved for an ARC - even though I'd already pre-ordered the book - had me over the moon. And I would've read it right then, but life, ya know? I loved all the characters - Siobhan and Bastian both quickly stole my heart and complement Nox well as partners - and the plot was great. Between the spicy scenes and the battle scenes I was often left feeling a lot of emotions. Katee Robert does an excellent job showing actions speak louder than words in this series, and this book is no exception. The exploration of themes like grief, loss, mental health, and more are done well and the diversity is just as wonderful as always.
I can't wait to explore more works by this author and hope that maybe in future we'll get to revisit the world of Threshold again one day.
Note: If you have issues with Aquaphobia, Thalassophobia, or Bathophobia just know that there's a lot involving water in this book, and I know that might seem obvious, but I mention it cause I know that maybe people think there might be not much underwater stuff etc. but it still is present. Also, please understand the Toxic Relationship does not involve the romantic relationship in the book.

The third and final installment in Katee Robert’s Crimson Sails series, a high-seas fantasy romance saga brimming with magic, rebellion, and electrifying relationships. Sad to see it end, but happy for a good book.

I've been waiting for this book for a while and I think I might have hyped it too much in my own head because the end result wasn't what I expected. NOT IN A BAD WAY THO. In a good way I guess? Since I couldn't even really guess how the events of the story would go down. I wasn't sure how they'd fix the entire corrupt system in one book but, they did! The Wild Hunt being the ending result in here was unexpected but I think Siobhann's wish was very concise and worked in her favor. I didn't expect the Wild Hunt to go back on their word or anything (like a genuine might interpret a wish wrong) but I was glad they picked up both sisters to take with them but only Siobhann managed to break free. I wanted Nox and Bastian to talk more as well and apologize properly to one another. I also wanted to know more about the argument that broke them apart. I understand the gist of it but I feel like... it wasn't all that big of a deal honestly? I didn't have the fight like they did but I didn't see anything wrong with Bastian wanting to stay. If Bastian was afraid why didn't they talk about maybe doing long distance or something? They didn't HAVE TO go out to sea together. If Bastian had a plan to help the rebellion on land, I feel like he should've done it but it didn't sound like he had a plan so... maybe that's where the true plan laid. Either way, this was a fun read that I enjoyed! Nox was my favorite throughout the first two books so when they finally had their own I was so excited!!! I lvoed learning mroe about them and their roguish ways.

I rate this 4.5 stars and 2.5 chili peppers for spice. The one spicy scene is for sure spicy but there is only one scene in the whole book. I loved the final book of the trilogy. It perfectly concluded a wonderful pirate adventure. I loved finally getting Nox’s story but I wish we would have gotten more of the backstory with them and Bastian. Katee is the master at writing beautiful queer romance. Sad to see this series end.

I usually love Katee Robert books, but this one felt very rushed and bland to me. I had trouble getting into the book and staying engaged. There's a lot of plot. I love plot with my romances, but it felt so bland and lacking in chemistry that I couldn't find myself caring where the plot OR the romance developed to.
I absolutely adore Katee though and will still be picking up her next release :)
Thank you Netgalley for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In Rebel in the Deep by Katee Roberts, the story is full of swashbuckling action and steamy love scenes that wraps up her Crimson Sails trilogy with an engaging conclusion. One of the aspects I really liked is that we get the perspectives of all three of the characters, Nox, Bastian and Siobhan as they struggle with the relationship between the three and handle the final stages of the rebellion. That choice allows the reader to get to know all three of the characters and understand them better.
I liked the dilemma that the rebellion faces as they struggle to find a solution that will keep the most people alive. I also love that right from the start we get some fantastic pirate action that utilizes some interesting magic. The story blends pirate rebellion with strong magical characters. The one element that lessened my enjoyment was that the solution and conclusion seemed either too quickly wrapped up or too easy for the main characters. It didn’t feel as emotionally challenged as it could have been. But I still found this a fun novel with lots of great romance between the three leads.
If you like Romantasy with a dash of piracy, I do recommend this novel, especially if you’ve read the first two books in the series. The polyamorous relationship between Nox, Bastian, and Siobhan is truly the heart of the story and that romance is well handled. The conclusion is handled with magic and ties up the storyline well. I really had fun reading the novel.

A solid ending to the Crimson Sails series! I really enjoyed finally getting Nox's story as we have seen them throughout the series. Both Siobhan and Bastian were great characters and I really like the relationship they developed.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

3.5⭐️Thank you to @berkleyromance for the copy of this book and for including me in the #berkleyromanceinfluencer program for the year. I’m so grateful!
This is the third and last book in the Crimson Sails series. I would definitely recommend reading the first two if you’re interested in this series because there is a lot of character and backstory carry over that might be harder to jump into in the last book of the series.
I will admit, I struggled with this series. There is a lot to digest between the realm they’re in and the varied magic systems that exist. I believe there are some crossovers between this series and a few other books this author has written. I love the look of the books themselves - I think the covers are gorgeous.
The pacing often made it hard for me to stay engaged and I found the book to be very easy to put down, even though it’s probably my favorite of the three. 😬 I did enjoy seeing all of the characters coming together in this final epic quest of the series. It wrapped up nicely and really became a great conclusion to the series.
This author is an auto-buy for me and I’ve really enjoyed a lot of their other work, so I’m not entirely sure what it is about this series that was a little bit of a miss for me.

A solid conclusion to the trilogy. These characters felt well-developed and their romantic relationship was done with so much care.

I think this might have been my favorite of the 3! I always loved Nox, but getting to be inside their head and learn more about how they think and why they do what they do is awesome. I also loved learning more about Siobhan and meeting Bastian, all three of their characters felt so fun. It was also lovely seeing our old couples, and just how in love they still are. I wish Katee did an "after the end" epilogue, so we could really see how all the couples are doing now that the rebellion is over (I know that was kinda included in the one year later but that was mostly how the world was doing rather than the couples). Anyways, This series definitely got better after book 1 and Im glad I kept going!

Thank you to the publisher, Berkley Romance, for a free copy of Katee Robert’s newest novel, Rebel in the Deep; all thoughts are my own.
Anytime I am looking for an engaging and hot escape, I pick up something from Katee Robert. I have devoured every book; they are extremely bingeable.
Rebel in the Deep is the 3rd and final book in the Crimson Sails series. This could be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the first two books first to avoid spoilers and get more context.
This book follows Nox, Bastian and Siobhan. Siobhan, the secret leader of the rebellion, enlists the help of Nox, Pirate Captain extraordinaire, to help rescue Bastian from imprisonment. Bastian has been captured and is waiting to face punishment for use of his outlawed glamour magic. Nox is hesitant to assist at first since they have history; Nox and Bastian are estranged lovers, and they haven’t quite got over each other after 14 years. However, for the good of the rebellion, Nox offers their help to Siobhan.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Katee Robert books used to always hit for me, but I feel in recent releases the plot has taken a back seat to spice. However, in this book, there is only 1 steamy scene towards the end. There are 3 POV’s in this book and multiple love stories- Bastian and Siobhan, Bastian and Nox, Nox and Siobhan and then all together. Ultimately, they develop into a polyamorous relationship.
Overall, I ended up enjoying Rebel in the Deep. I think it was a solid wrap up to the series. I always appreciate spending more time with previous characters and seeing more of their happily ever after. The POV’s got a tiny bit confusing at times; I think it was hard to distinguish since they were all on a boat and lived similar lives. I think the internal dialogue must be unique and it was hard to do that given their circumstances. Some of the magic went over my head, but it was still fun to read about.
What to expect:
-Pirates, monsters & magic
- Poly Romance
- Opposites attract
- Adventure and suspense
- Historical-ish but with contemporary language
Rebel in the Deep came out on 5/20 and is available now if you want to pick it up! Thanks again to the publisher for a gifted copy!

I struggled with this read more than I was expecting. I was so excited to read the conclusion to this story but ultimately struggled to connect with the characters and their shared mission. And this especially saddens me because I loved book 2 so much and was looking forward to how this series concludes. Part of the reason I struggled with this read was because I had read the first two books so long ago that none of the details were fresh in my head. If I had read this series back to back, I think I would have enjoyed it more. The ending also felt so rushed.

This was a great conclusion to the Crimson Sails series. I loved that we got to learn more about Nox! They have been such an interesting character throughout the series, I'm glad we finally got their story. And I loved that we still got to see glimpses of Evelyn and Bowen and Lizzie and Maeve. I'm interested to see if we come back to this world at all in the aftermath of the rebellion!

This was a really fun adventure! The pacing was quick and engaging. I’m not typically a multi-partner romance fan, but I really enjoyed the dynamic between Siobhan, Nix, and Bastian. I actually would’ve been happy with even more romance between the three of them, especially at the end where things just kind of ended abruptly. I enjoyed the way Katee Robert mixed in elements of fantasy and magic throughout! All in all an enjoyable and fast read!

Rebel in the Deep is the final installment of Katee Robert’s Crimson Sails trilogy. This trilogy is different from other Fantasy Romance books I’ve read because it incorporates a variety of elements, including pirates, vampires, selkies, magic, etc. It is a unique world filled with diverse characters and full of adventures, featuring action-packed scenes that will engage readers.
Unfortunately, this book won’t be a favorite of mine in the trilogy, and I’m sad I didn’t enjoy it because I loved the second book, and it will remain my favorite in the trilogy. Here’s the thing: I wasn’t fully invested in the characters in this book, and I loved Nox in previous books when they were mentioned, but I wasn’t fully convinced of the romantic relationship that formed in this one. It felt rushed, and the fact that Bastian broke Nox’s heart years ago and supposedly he was still in love with Nox just wasn’t convincing to me. When it came to Siobhan, I loved her character and how she was determined to rescue Bastian from the Cwn Annwn ship so he didn’t stand trial, and I loved learning about her background. I actually loved how she saw right through Nox and felt attracted to them, but when it came to Bastian, I just didn’t care for him. Look, I hold grudges, and Bastian needed to grovel more to win over Nox.
I loved how everything came together in this book, especially when it came to the rebellion winning. They had been through a lot in previous books and this one. I loved that previous characters were there, helping with the main characters in this book. I was actually more invested in this part of the book than in the romantic relationship between Nox, Siobhan, and Bastian. (Bastian particularly. Seriously, I didn’t care for him.)
Katee excels at writing polyamorous romance storylines, but I wasn’t as convinced by this one as I have been with the other poly romance stories in their Dark Olympus series. This particular story is a slow burn between the characters, so don’t expect steamy scenes until towards the end. Additionally, the intensity of their interactions is milder compared to other books I’ve read by Katee.
Overall, I give this book three stars and truly wish I had enjoyed it more. It had potential, but I wasn’t fully invested like I was with the second book in the series.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. Even though I didn’t enjoy this book, it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend it. This is one trilogy I would recommend to Fantasy Romance readers who are seeking a fast-paced, action-packed adventure filled with diverse characters involved in a rebellion.
What to Expect:
✔️M/F/NB Romance
✔️Pirate Fantasy Romance
✔️Second Chance
✔️Forced Proximity

I absolutely loved this story! Of course I didn’t do my due diligence in making sure I wasn’t reading a book in a series rather than its own book, BUT you can absolutely get everything out of this story if you accidentally miss the first two like me. I’ll eventually be getting into the start of the series and then rereading this 3rd installment, but 10/10 would recommend for lovers of love and magic!

Thank you to Berkley Romance for the free book and to PRH Audio for the complimentary audiobook. These opinions are my own. #Berkley #BerkleyPartner
This is the third and final book in the Crimson Sails series. This series is definitely one to read in order. Through the first two books, we have met many of the people fighting as part of the rebellion against the Cŵn Annwn. In this book, we get to know the even more important players and read the conclusion to the overarching drama.
I had appreciated reading about Nox in the earlier stories. They absolutely deserved their own book. And it felt that they matched incredibly well with Siobhan and Bastion. I would have loved seeing even more of their backstories, especially between Siobhan and Bastion. With three leads, the emphasis felt especially focused on Nox. The steamy scenes were well done. And the emotional storylines dug deep.
As makes sense with concluding the trilogy, the book felt more focused on the fantasy than the romance. I especially loved the quote, "We've been saving people since the beginning, and now it's time to save, well, everything." The stakes are so high, and I was so invested in whether the realm would be saved from an authoritarian force that intentionally created divides among its people.
Nathaniel Priestley, Zura Johnson, and Nicky Endres narrated the three POV, each with uniquely recognizable voices that helped orient me to the perspective. The book sped by at just over 10 hours.

I must admit this third and final book in the Crimson Sails series wasn't my favorite. It had lots of action and a spicy polyamorous queer romance situationship but overall I just felt the story kind of dragged and the other two books in the series were stronger for me. C'est la vie. On to the next. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review!

I seriously love all things Katee Robert. I can admit that the Dark Olympus series is still my absolute favorite but...when I want a great story and some amazingly spicy romance, Katee is my go to!
With Rebel In The Deep, the third book in the Crimson Sails series, Katee delivered the suspense, smexiness and smolder all in one. Focusing on the polyamory relationship between Nox, Bastian and Siobhan, Rebel handled their story with care and compassion. Sometimes these story lines can be hard to follow (admittedly I am not talented enough to pull off this type of relationship) but I was engaged with every page.
I also think this book perfectly wrapped up the trilogy and closed out many of the past characters in the best way possible.
Thank you to Katee Robert and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my gosh. This was an epic conclusion to this trilogy. There was so much action and it wrapped up the plot lines beautifully. This was a perfect read to start off pride month, with a thruple being the main characters. Surprisingly, there was only one spicy scene in this book, but I couldn’t make myself give a Katee Roberts book anything less than two peppers. Sorry, not sorry. These three took their time circling each other, but the polyamorous relationship that it became seemed absolutely natural. I adored this one!

Nox is captain of their own ship and a secret member of the rebellion. And their ex boyfriend’s girlfriend arrived and asked them to help stage a rescue for their ex. And it’s not like they can say no: she is the leader of the rebellion, and if they get Bastian to break when they torture him the whole rebellion will be hunted down. Now they are all marked for death and the rebellion is out in the open. Might as well go out with a bang (in more ways than one 😏)
