I love Katee Robert’s books because she always delivers a great HEA and the final book in The Crimson Series Trilogy delivered. It had all the spice, chemistry, great characters and a great plot. It’s set on the high seas with monsters so there is lots of action and adventure as well. Ultimately it was a great love story between three people. I loved the writing and the story and highly recommend the trilogy for paranormal romance lovers. I devoured it.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

The Crimson Sails has come to an end, and let me tell you wow, Katee Robert did a great job with wrapping the plot up, having great characters, character development, the action and drama in the book will grab you and keep you invested as well as Katee writing and the romance in this book was top notch (Polyamory was done with care).

In this book you will meet Nox, Bastian and Siobhan. This isn’t the first time you have met these characters but, in this book, you get to know and understand them better. I loved that Katee Roberts finished the Crimson Sails with a Polyamory relationship, and I found how she wrote it to have handled their relationship with care. I liked that told in multiple POV of the characters because it really helped me to understand them better. I loved that they all had their flaws, but they all accepted them and at the end of the day their love for each other was stronger than anything. I didn’t mind the spice level in this book at all, but it is spicy like all her books so be ready lol. I loved the tension between the characters, you will see their own struggles having to deal with feelings that they have pushed way, way down, not knowing how to be open and intimate when speaking about what each of the characters wants. I loved how Katee portrayed their feelings for each other and to show people that love is love.

I found the fighting and the drama in this book to be high stakes, and it was thrilling to see how the characters handled the idea/threat that they might not make it out alive and that really forces the characters to finally be open about everything. I loved that we got the wild hunt in this book and how the characters handled the drama of unleashing them on the evil of the world but for a good cause I promise.

I recommend this book to anyone who has read any of Katee Roberts books, loves adventure, drama, romance, and great characters.

I want to thank NetGalley and Berkley for the opportunity to review this book.

Katee Robert continues to be one of my favorite authors and I was so excited to read the conclusion to the Crimson Sails trilogy.

This book follows two characters we have seen previously, Nox and Siobhan, and introduced us to Bastian. We start off right after book two ends with complicated relationships and a rush to defeat the Cwn Annwn before they can destroy our heroes.

I loved the pirates, monsters, magic, ancient history and gods, and fighting off an oppressive government regime by a diverse group of heroes, but I didn't feel as connected to the main characters in this one. The story felt very fast paced, and I was torn between this epic adventure and feeling like it didn't have any teeth. I was never worried they were going to fail.

More plot and romance than spice in this one, I'd give it a 1/5🌶️.

They you Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with a free ARC to read and review.

Loved it! I am really going to miss these characters and even though I don't love boats, I am going to miss feeling like I'm sailing on a magical boat with the best crew. Katee knows how to make the most interesting and emotionally intelligent characters. They are flawed yes, they are struggling yes of course, but dang do they know how to take care of each other and how to communicate! This part had equally amazing romance and fantasy storylines. I was intensely invested in each and it caused such a swell of emotion in me the entire time. This was a fabulous ending to a series that I honestly wish would never end in a creative, but easy to understand magical world. I love the found family of the crew and how they would sacrifice everything for the greater good of strangers. The throuple was PERFECTION. The way they handled everything, cared for each other as a unit, never leaving someone feeling less than or unwanted was just so masterfully done; brava!

📖 Book Review 📖 Katee Robert brings a dazzling conclusion to the Crimson Sails trilogy. And while it’s no shock, it’s always a treat! Rebel in the Deep wastes no time, jumping right into the action with a glorious and sweeping momentum that never lets up. Robert delicately balances a fast-paced plot with deep-rooted character development (and of course, that steamy romance) for a juicy, unputdownable fantastical escape. Prepare yourself for all of the adventure in Rebel in the Deep because this is one wild ride!

Rebel in the Deep is a fun and emotional ending to the Crimson Sails series. Nox is a ship captain working for the rebellion. Their life gets more complicated when the rebel leader Siobhan shows up asking for help to rescue her partner Bastian, who is also Nox’s ex. Things get even messier when feelings between all three start to grow.
There is action, romance, and lots of tension as the trio tries to escape danger and save the rebellion. I liked how the characters dealt with their pasts and built something new together. The story has magic, pirates, secrets, and second chances. It is not as spicy as the earlier books, but the slow build works well here.
I really enjoyed this book and getting to know Nox better. If you like found family, adventure, and romance, this book and series are worth reading.
Very grateful to the publisher @berkleyromance for my #gifted copy through @netgalley , opinions are my own

She's the rebel leader who is hiding a secret, he's her lover who's been captured and the only person that can help is his ex, and they're the ex that is very complicated but captain of a ship. Pirates, rebellion, complicated relationships, and the unlikely throuple that results in the three unlikeliest people with history. Nox is the captain of a ship and working for the rebellion but when their ex is captured and they have to help said ex's very hot rebel leader girlfriend get him back... they didn't expect to start feeling for her too or that their feelings for said ex is also still very much there. Siobhan is hiding a secret and when her family drama comes back to the surface how is she suppose to lead a rebellion. Bastian is conflicted because not only has been captured but now he haas to deal with his feelings for both his ex and his girlfriend. Meanwhile there's a rebellion to work, mysterious forces to evade, and hearts to heal. This was a fun conclusion to the series and I do love the slow burn element to the relationship between the three. I have always loved Katee's writing and this series has been a fun pirate adventure for me. I can't wait to see what Katee comes up with next and would definitely recommend this series for fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean series!

I enjoyed this final book conclusion to the trilogy!

It was great to see everything wrapped up, and I really wanted to get Nox's story and I am glad I did! Siobhan, Nox and Bastian are a trio with complications, but I love how they developed as a trio and how their story played out.

I enjoyed getting to see our other favorite characters again, and enjoyed the plot in this story. It was much less spicy than the other ones, but I think it worked well.

This is the conclusion to the Crimson Sails trilogy and it's a doozy. Again, you don't really have to read the other novels in the trilogy, but you may want to for backstory. Besides, there are definitely recurring characters and it helps for context. I will say that this novel has one of the steamiest scenes I've ever read, and if you're a fan of Katee Robert, you know that's no small feat. This novel focuses on Captain Nox and is a thrilling, emotionally charged romance that blends steamy tension with high-stakes adventure. The chemistry between the protagonists is electric, and Robert’s skillful world-building makes the deep-sea setting as captivating as the characters themselves. Fast-paced, sexy, and full of heart, this installment is a standout in the series. Awesome conclusion for this series.

📣 Poly PNR with some second chance elements

Thank you, @berkleyromance, for the free copy of Rebel in the Deep. #BerkleyRomance #BerkleyPartner #BerkleyBookstagram.

📖 are there any ocean-dwelling creatures you like or are interested in? I think narwhals are so cool!

What would you risk for the good of others? What would you risk for happiness?

Rebel in the Deep answers both of these with: a lot. This PNR series set primarily on the oceans where monsters dwell has been so fun. As you know if you’re a Katee Robert reader, the author is not afraid to go there.

In this book, three people are brought together on a dangerous rebel mission, all of them dealing with the challenges of loving or having loved someone. The external threats they’re facing both amp up the tension & allow them to act on their feelings for one another.

There’s plenty of thrills, intrigue, & fighting in these books, along with Katee Robert’s trademark passion & boldness.

3.5 ⭐️, out 05/20.

Rebel in the Deep by Katee Robert
Book 3 in the Crimson Sails Trilogy
Releases 5/20!

Thank you to Berkley, NetGalley, and Katee Robert for entrusting me with an early copy.

Multiple POV, forced proximity, second chance romance, MFX (male/female/nonbinary trio), found family, nonbinary rep, elemental magic, ancient and powerful ancestry, corrupt government, rebellion, legends

Nox is a captain of one of the counsel's ships, but they are also secretly in the rebellion. They are surprised when the leader of the rebellion, Siobhan, shows up unexpectedly on their ship to beg for help. For the one thing Nox had asked to never be involved with again. Their ex, Bastian, who also happens to be Siobhan's current partner, needs rescuing. Once Siobhan and Nox get Bastian back, their cover is blown and they are on the run for their lives. There is a legend of a magical artifact that may help them, though, so they set out on a quest to learn about the artifact and to reach it. And all the while old feelings are being reignited for Nox while new feelings also are flaring. Soon it is clear the trio has feelings for each other, but can they stay alive long enough to explore them?

This was a fun, high seas read! I had missed that this was book three in a trilogy until I stared it, but each book has different couples so it wasn't a problem to jump into this book. I would say though it is probably more fun to read the other two first to get the stories of the other couples! I've seen from a few other reviews that this is a bit less spicy than the other two books, with one explicit scene. I enjoyed the trio's journey to each other! The ending was also beautiful- I will very likely go back and read the other two books!

I was not sure I could enjoy a series by Katee Robert more than I enjoy her Dark Olympus series, but I think I enjoyed this one much more!!! The plot and story were just so addicting and SO GOOD. I am honestly speechless about this book and the series as a whole. 100% recommend.

In the third book in Robert’s pirate fantasy series, three people have to confront their pasts, their present, and what they could do with their future as the rebellion against the Cŵn Annwn swells. Nox, the quartermaster for the rebellion, has been working behind the scenes for years while carefully avoiding their ex, Bastian. Bastian is currently in a relationship with Siobhan, but he’s torn between his past with Nox and the love he currently shares with Siobhan. Siobhan has a secret she can’t share, one that could change the course of the rebellion. And she’s drawn to Nox, even as she loves Bastian. While this book expands on the Cŵn Annwn and those who run it, what stood out to me in this book was the relationships taking center stage, as Nox, Bastian, and Siobhan have to figure out how to stop being dummies and start being in love with each other honestly. Siobhan’s big secret reminded me of a plot point from an Ilona Andrews book, which is a good thing, and Bastian has to grow up from “privileged playboy” to “responsible adult”, while Nox is trying to re-learn that love can heal, not just hurt. This isn’t a place to start the series, but for those who read the first two books, this is worth picking up.

The chemistry in this book is electric. Katee Robert is a master at writing tension, both sexual and emotional, and she doesn't shy away from letting her characters be flawed, hurt, and hopeful all at once. The tangled relationship between Nox, Bastian, and Siobhan feels organic and earned — the history, betrayals, and desire between them simmer under every interaction.

If I had one tiny gripe, it’s that I wish we’d had just a bit more breathing room toward the end to settle into the aftermath of everything these characters endured. But it’s a testament to how much I cared about them that I wasn’t ready to let them go.

If you’ve been craving polyamorous dynamics, complex characters, and a world where the line between love and survival is razor-thin — Rebel in the Deep delivers.

I really liked Rebel in the Deep! It was a great end to this series. I liked the romance, even though this was pretty low spice for a Katee Robert book! It’s pretty plot and relationship focused. I think readers will enjoy it and find it to be a satisfying ending to the story.

A slow burn by Katee Robert standards, but definitely worth it. The first book of theirs I've read with a nonbinary main character, which was super cool. Rebel in the Deep is plot-heavy, thrilling, and absolutely worth the buildup.

Thank you Netgalley and Berkley publishing for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

When Bastian has been taken captive Sioban has no choice but to turn to Nox to save him. Leading the 3 of them on a journey that will bring them together as they try to save the world.

I loved how dramatic all of the main characters are! The storming out during conversation, running away when they don't want to face that they actually have feeling for each other!! DRAMATIC!

This moved at a very good pace it keep me wanting to know what was going to happen next and had a conclusion that was very satisfying.

I was unaware this series was planned as a trilogy (I’m so used to Katee Robert doing LONG series!) but this was an excellent conclusion.

I was surprised at how little spice this book had, but I enjoyed seeing the three members of the relationship realize they wanted to be in a relationship. As other reviewers said, it did drag a little, but overall a solid read
