I've read all three books in this Silver Pines Ranch series and this book is definitely my favorite. I love Ginger and Cole AKA Vixen and Law Daddy. She is his sister's best friend, but they have had a secret friendship, too. When she was younger, she knew that she could rely on him, and he would do what he could to help her. That "friendship" continued into adulthood, too.

Ginger has secretly pined for him, but after her attempt at kissing him years ago, he pushed her away. Since then, she has kept her feelings to herself. Cole and Ginger's sass and banter back and forth was so good. Their chemistry was amazing. I could actually feel it coming off the pages!

A weekend in Las Vegas leads to a drunken wedding between them. This could be terrible for the town's new Sheriff and the Congressman's daughter. But what if they kept it a secret?

I loved everything about this book! The friend group, Cole's eight-year-old daughter, the texting, the steamy scenes and the conflict.

Thank you so much to Dell Romance for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is such a great series. When I got this DRC I started the whole series. I finished the series up to this point in 4 days! The series is captivating and endearing! I love all these characters and I cannot wait for the rest of the series.
Cole Ashby and Ginger Danforth have had such great chemistry through out the whole series and the banter,...gosh the banter is to die for! The whole series have these amazing men who are all rough and though on the outside but these soft and doting boyfriends/husbands when they are with their person. Cole is my favorite by far! A single dad and a sheriff mixed with a reforming playboy how can it go wrong! Ugh I just love them all!

Highly recommend this series to any romance reader!

💞Ginger & Cole💞

I'm not sure who I love more Wade (Training the Heart) or Cole, honestly, please don't make me choose! As with TTH, this book was perfection! Cole, recently appointment as Sheriff, is working to try and clean up the mess his predecessor left, while also trying to raise his daughter as a single parent. Ginger is just trying to live her life and break free from the stress and perfection required of her as the daughter of a congressman.

The two have secretly been ride or die friends for years now and after a drunken night in Vegas wake up married! The issue comes that neither can have risk an annulment right now. They just need to make it 90 days, till Ginger's dad is re-elected and Cole is past his probationary period. Ginger agrees to move in to help watch Cole's daughter for the summer (and cover their tracks is anyone comes sniffing around about a fake marriage) but turns out, maybe their marriage wasn't meant to be temporary.

I'm a sucker for these tropes:
💐Drunken Vegas Wedding
🪻Single Parent x Nanny
🌷Best Friend's Brother
🌻Secret Friends to Lovers
🌹Forced Proximity

Thank you to the author and Random House Publishing for the e-ARC!

I don’t even know where to begin with how much I adored this book—Cole and Ginger completely stole my heart. From the very first flashback, which sets the tone for their long-standing friendship and unspoken tension, I was hooked. You can feel their history in every interaction, and the chemistry? Off. The. Charts.

Ginger has been in love with Cole forever, but she's kept those feelings buried, content with the closeness they do have—until a wild night in Vegas changes everything. Waking up married wasn’t the plan, but instead of rushing to undo it, they decide to fake it and keep the marriage under wraps while Ginger moves in to help for the summer as a nanny to Cole’s daughter, Mabel. Only… faking it gets real fast.

Their dynamic is absolute perfection. Cole, the grumpy, rule-following single dad. Ginger, the chaotic, big-hearted best girl. Watching them try—and fail—to resist each other was deliciously angsty and sweet. Their banter is sharp, their tension electric, and the way they orbit around each other is pure slow-burn satisfaction. And once they give in? Yeah, you’ll need to sit down for that one. Shoutout to the shaving scene and Cole going above and way beyond in the intimacy department. 👀

But what really elevates this book is how grounded it feels. Cole’s relationship with Mabel is so tender and genuine, and seeing Ginger bond with her made my heart ache in the best way. Their little trio feels like a real family long before anyone’s willing to admit it.

Paisley Hope absolutely nails the small-town romance vibe with Riding the High. The side characters bring warmth, the cameos are delightful, and the story never loses momentum. Every character feels distinct and purposeful—this isn’t one of those series where each book feels like a copy-paste job. Ginger and Cole’s journey is layered, emotional, and totally worth the wait if you’ve been following the Silver Pines Ranch series.

The ending, especially that epilogue? It’s everything. I laughed, I swooned, I might’ve even teared up. This book felt like watching two people finally realize what everyone else already knew—that they belong together.

This is a steamy western, with emphasis on steam. This is the third in the Silver Pines Ranch series and I was fine reading it as a stand alone. Clearly the family and friends group are the couples from the previous books in the series so you may get more enjoyment reading in order. Cole Ashby is the new appointed sheriff and he is also raising Mabel, his eight year old daughter. Her mother comes around occasionally. Ginger Danforth is his younger sister’s best friend. She is a school teacher and her father is in politics, so appearances are important. Clearly the two have always had a thing for each other and shared a kiss once.

It a twist shared in the blurb the pair end up drunkenly getting married in Las Vegas. They don’t plan to stay married but agree to keep it quiet until he is off his new job probation at the end of the summer. He also suggests that she move in and help take care of Mabel for the summer for which he’ll pay her and she could use the income. Honestly, that plot was a little thin for me. He could have hired her to help for the summer and there didn’t have to be the marriage because neither of their families questioned her taking the job.

Their nicknames for each other are a little over the top. She texts and calls him Law Daddy and he calls her Vixen. I had to remind myself these people are approaching thirty. This book is about spice and not much more. I kept waiting for sweet moments of learning more personal things about each other or seeing the romance. But I got a lot of bed sports and not real conversations. Ginger is very sweet with Mabel.

The characters are likable but there is not a lot of depth. And I did like the epilogue. I might have rated this higher if I had read other books from the series.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of Riding the High. I am such a sucker for Paisley Hope and this book did not disappoint!!
What’s not to love…. Single dad/nanny, friends to lovers. Its just the best. Cole and Ginger’s story had me hooked for the very beginning. Loved every second of this book.

I knew, I KNEW - this was going to be my favorite book in the series thus far.

What a twist on best friend's brother because we learn that they became friends (and of course pined after each other) all those years after CeCe went off to college.

I read this book in less than 24 hours, lost sleep over it, because I was invested in Ginger and Cole's story. I will add, the little twist we got when everyone was on the honeymoon trip was a nice surprise, and I like how it tied together this story.

If you like some spice with your cowboy romance, Paisley ALWAYS delivers on that front. I'll warn you now so you know what you're getting into, once it starts, it doesn't slow down.

I cried a bit at the end when Mabel said "will you be my mommy in my heart?" TEARS. I love their bond that they created.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC, I'll never pass on a chance to get my hands on a Paisley Hope book!

ARC REVIEW: Riding the High by Paisley Hope

5 ⭐️

This book was so good! I was immediately sucked into to this story. I love a good single dad/ nanny book. I love our main characters, Cole and Ginger! Ginger is so caring and down to earth. Cole has been through a lot, being a single father isn’t easy, but he always puts what he loves first: family, Mabel and Ginger 🥰 Can we talk about Mabel? She is SO CUTE! I love her relationship with Ginger, she is the mother that Mabel doesn’t have. Cole and Ginger’s relationship was so sweet, and you can tell they loved each other from the beginning.🤭

I love stories like this because they grew up together and are always there for each other when one needs the other. The accidental marriage felt right in this book. The tropes are some of my favorites and the writing was amazing. Paisley Hope wrote an amazing story with great characters and I can’t wait for future books in this series!

Thank you Netgalley, and [Penguin] Random House- Ballantine for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is easily one of my favorite small town romances so far this year!

-Friends to lovers
-Best Friends Brother
-Single Dad/Nanny
-Sheriff MMC
-Crazy Night In Vegas That Leads To.. you’ll have to read to find out

Cole & Ginger had me absolutely swooning and kicking my feet like a school girl. I could not get enough of the banter they share as best friends but especially as the line starts to fade between friendship and lovers.

Their chemistry is PIPING HOT and Cole is one of my favorite MMC’s because of the way he treats Ginger with such care and admiration.. while also being a freak in the sheets.

I couldn’t recommend this read more! I have started the rest of the series already!

Paisley has done it again! Ginger and Cole were everything I didn't know I needed. Ginger and Cole's friendship is the definition of 'there is more than meets the eye' - the secret they've been harboring for years comes out in full force when they accidentally get married in Las Vegas.

Every single relationship in this book was depicted beautifully. Cole and Mabel, his daughter? Amazing. Ginger and Mabel? Inspiring. Cole & Ginger. Jaw droopingly beautiful.

Synopsis: When long time friends Cole and Ginger drunkenly get married in Las Vegas, they decide to keep the marriage a secret to save his career as sheriff.

Thoughts: This is now my second favorite of this series. I love Cole - the single dad trope is one of my favorites, and his relationship with his daughter is so sweet. Ginger is a super fun, sassy female main character, and I’ve been rooting for her the entire series. Honestly the Vegas wedding trope is it usually my thing, but I didn’t mind it here. I think having a background on Cole and Gingers friendship helped it seem more realistic that they would stay in their secret marriage to help each other out, and even though things moved fast I felt like their relationship progression made sense. If you’ve made it to this book in the series you know it will be spicy - I’d say way spicier than book one but less than book two. A much better balance of spice to plot and no scrunchies were harmed in the making of this book.

Read this if you like:

This is the perfect summer read that will have you kicking your feet and laughing from beginning to end!

Cole and Ginger are friends who become more when her and Cole have a drunken Vegas wedding. In order to make this arrangement work Cole asks Ginger for a favor and asks her to nanny his daughter for the summer now that he’s the new Sheriff. ( love a man in uniform 🥵)

Ginger falls hard for not only for Cole but his sweet daughter all while holding this secret from her best friend.

one thing about me is that i LOVE a good single dad troupe and this book did not disappoint.
I really want to start with how sweet it was watching Mabel and Ginger’s relationship really grow throughout the book. it was something really special to watch.
Cole and Ginger’s relationship started with their childhood, to a silly lil accidental vega’s wedding and then slowly, like Ginger and Mabel’s garden, it bloomed into something beautiful and rewarding.
The family/found family in Silver Pines never misses. I love this big family that Paisley created & this book definitely added to it!!

Thanks for the arc Random House Publishing Group!
Riding the High comes out on May 6th!!

“Law Daddy”

Cole and Ginger have been secret friend for years. A drunken night in Vegas leads to a ring on their finger. Things get real fast… but Coke realizes maybe having a summer fake wife isn’t the worst idea for him or his daughter. An almost accident makes Coke relate life is to short for fear; he begins a secret relationship with Ginger.

But they soon realize that there friends are on to them being together. And maybe their secret friendship wasn’t so secret. But can they survive after the summer? Or were they destined to fail?

Thank you Paisley Hope and Team for the chance to read this book early! Riding the High is the 3rd in the series. Ginger is Cole’s sister Cece’s bff. But there is undeniable attraction between the two. Will one night in Vegas do them in? Loved loved loved this Book!!!

I’ve been living in my cowboy era so I knew this was going to be right up my alley. I devoured this whole thing in one sitting and now I have to go read all her other books!

Paisley Hope has done it again! I went into this book with high expectations due to my love for Silver Pines, the previous book especially, and Paisley surpassed every one. I devoured this book and was giggling and kicking my feet within the first few chapters! Cole and Ginger are the definition of “it’s always been you.” Their easy banter, their chemistry, and tense pull to each other was so intoxicating that I couldn’t put the book down! You could cut through that tension with a knife. And when it broke? I was a melted pile on the floor! I am always a sucker for a single dad trope, but this one might be my favorite thus far!

Thank you so much to Paisley Hope, Random House, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC!

This was so fun! Cole and Ginger’s friendship is light and fun in the beginning, and watching them blossom together over the summer was beautiful. I loved the dialogue between them, and Mabel’s moments were funny! The accidental marriage/hidden relationship was a good plot, and the big problem in the end was done really well. The ending was beautiful and I only cried like three times.

Thank you to Dell for an early copy!

Well, Paisley did it again.
Just when I think I can’t fall harder for one of her MMCs, she writes another. I’m beyond conflicted at this point. How does one pick a favorite Ashby brother?

ANYWAYS…. The goods:
Tropes:
MY WIFE
Best friend’s brother
Sheriff x teacher
Single dad
Accidental marriage
Forced proximity
Secret friends to lovers
One night stand

5/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️

I devoured this book. Literally obsessed for 3 days and stayed up late finishing on work nights… because as all of her work…. It’s just that good.

Cole is the single dad with a real see you next Tuesday for an ex-wife (relatable AF). Ginger is his little sisters annoying best friend/ his secret best friend post divorce.

When they accidentally get trashed at Cece & Nash’s pre wedding Vegas trip…. One thing h leads to another and well… you know what happens in Vegas. One little problem, Sheriff Ashby and Congressman’s daughter Ginger can’t have a scandal.

Cue the marriage of convenience! Naturally, Ginger moves in to be Cole’s nanny and from there, the ride is bumpy, there is PLOT and there is SPICE!

I’m going to continue to hail this author as the queen of writing fictional men.

Thank you so much Paisley and @dellromance for giving me the opportunity to read this via @netgalley in exchange for an honest review ✨
