Riding the High is book 3 in the Silver Pines Ranch series by Paisley Hope. This book follows Cole Ashby, the newly appointed sheriff and devoted single dad, and Ginger Danforth, his sister’s best friend, elementary school teacher and the Congressman’s daughter. Cole and Ginger have been friend for years but after a wild weekend in Vegas and a game of truth or dare, they wake up married!

Cole and Ginger’s story was so much fun to read. The banter, the tension and the spice were perfect! Not to mention, Mabel stole the show. I devoured every book in this series. Absolutely loved it!

Read this one if you love:
-cowboy romance
-small town romance
-single dad
-best friend’s brother
-accidental marriage
-friends to lovers
-forced proximity
-loads of banter
-tons of chemistry
-lots of spice

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the opportunity to read an ARC of Riding the High in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book so much. This was such a fun take on a fake marriage trope. It was my first Vegas marriage book actually but it really reminded me of those early 2000s movie and tv rom coms that played on this. I loved the relationship between these two and dynamic between all three of them and/with his daughter.

Cole is a fun grumpy playboy who really meets his match in Ginger. Their chemistry was clearly built up from a long time coming and this was the tipping point. The banter was so good and I was so surprised that I enjoyed the friendship part of their story too? I am not normally a friends to lovers girlie but I think that the tension between them and learnings their feelings were always there as we get into the story really helped a lot. I also think their dynamic and flirting was really helping. I loved their love of Brooklyn 99 as someone who's also obsessed with this show and I thought the fact that we saw "favors" go from friendship stuff to the marriage to spicy times was WILD (but in a good way) lol

I devoured this book and plan on reading more Paisley Hope books ASAP.

Thank you Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Dell and NetGalley for this ARC. I love Paisey Hope's books. They draw me in and this series has been such a fun time for me. I am always so excited to get an ARC by this author. LOVED Gingers and Cole's story

This is my favorite book in the Silver Pines Ranch series by far! I have been waiting for Cole and Ginger's story since the series began, and they did not disappoint.

One of the things that I loved the most about this book is that Cole and Ginger were secret friends. They hung out, ate meals together, and they watched 'Brooklyn 99'. They started out as friends, and they fought their feelings for each other.

Ginger has a great relationship with Cole's daughter, and I loved that she was a teacher while he was the town's sheriff. The found family element continues throughout the series, and it is always a highlight for me.

One issue that I had with the book was the issue of consent because when they first hooked up in Vegas, she didn't remember it. I wish that their first time was not problematic because it took away from the story for me.

COLE WESTON ASHBY! This book was soooooo good. I loved Wade and Ivy's story, but honestly Cole and Ginger's threw me for a loop. I was not expecting an accidental marriage (I didn't read the tropes before going into this) and so I was pleasantly surprised. The arrangement they came up with worked out great and I loved watching Ginger and Mabel's relationship blossom.

The spice that was in this book was top tier. Cole is an unsatiable beast when it comes to Ginger! I loved every word. The relationship dynamic between the two of them was so strong. In my opinion, nothing builds a better foundation for a good marriage than friendship and being able to laugh and love with your partner.

I really thought it was interesting how the relationship Ginger has with her friends (the girls) kind of took a back burner in this book. I know the story was meant to be about Cole and Ginger but with Ginger being Cece's best friend, I really thought they would have more time spent together.

I am forever grateful that there was NO third act breakup for this couple because honestly that would have been stupid. They love each other so much and it was very clear, so I'm glad all the shit that went down with Brent and also Ginger's dad, didn't cause issue. Good for Ginger for realizing how epic she is an how she needs to stand up for their relationship.

Such a good read and I cannot wait for the next TWO!!! books in this series to come out. I will always be a Paisley Hope fan. *adds to automatic author buy list*

Thank you to NetGalley and Dell for blessing me with this ARC!!!! I knew I was going to love Ginger and Cole the minute they appeared in the previous books. The tension that’s been building FINALLY got to see the light of day and I was living for it.

Despite their “frenemy” vibes, Ginger has actually always been there for Cole. Especially when his marriage imploded. He needed an unbiased friend, and knew Ginger would tell it like it is. Years later, she’ll still drop everything just to sit by his side. She may have been his sister’s bestie first, but there’s no denying that Ginger is also his best friend.

Hiding their friendship is all fun and games until they get super drunk for Cece’s wedding and…accidentally get married in Vegas. And as we all know, there’s no easy way to reverse it. All they want to do is avoid a huge scandal. And now these two have another secret to keep between them.

I loved the scheme these two cooked up. Cole needs help taking care of his daughter Mabel during the summer, and Ginger currently has plenty of time to spare. They decide to kill two birds with one stone, and create the most delicious forced proximity. It was so fun having Ginger in Cole’s space. She’s such a different vibe than him, so watching her take care of his daughter, Mabel, was so much fun. She and Mabel have always gotten along, so it’s natural that Ginger fit perfectly into their lives.

Watching this uptight Daddy learn to loosen up on his rules, was a delight. This book is so very cute and sucked me in right from the beginning. I love Ginger’s sass, and the way she drives Cole a little bit crazy in the best way. This book has so many tropes that I’m obsessed with and I want everyone to read it so we can squeal about all the cuteness! I already cannot wait for more! This series is fantastic and I’m so eager to see what happens in the next book.

Out of all of the Ashby siblings, Cole has been the hottest one I’ve been waiting for. Cole and Ginger’s relationship was the one I was most excited for but also the one that ended up being too predictable once I jumped in. This book’s storyline was too similar to another book with the same plot line I second guessed myself constantly, wondering if I’ve already read this one.

I knocked off some points because of lack of originality. Overall, was a decent read but didn’t have my feet kicking by the end.

*Popcorn scale is referring to how easily consumable the book is overall

I am so excited that I finally got to read one of Paisley Hope’s books! So many of her books are on my to read list so this was a great introduction! In “Riding the High,” Cole is Ginger’s best friend’s older brother. He is the newly appointed sheriff of Laurel Creek and a great dad (with a horrible ex wife). Ginger is the daughter of a buttoned up congressman but she is a free-spirit. Ginger and Cole have been off limits to each other forever but have always been attracted to each other. On a drunken whim, they get married in Vegas. To avoid a town scandal, they decide to stay married until Ginger’s father is re-elected and Cole is through his new job’s probationary period. Ginger moves in to help take care of Mabel, Cole’s daughter, so mix in some forced proximity and longing and Cole and Ginger can’t seem to help what may or may not happen between them.

I really enjoyed Cole and Ginger both separately and apart. They were both fun characters and Paisley did an amazing job creating their chemistry. It oozed off of the page. I also really appreciated that while this is the third book in a series, I was not lost and didn’t feel like I was missing out on understanding what had previously happened.

This is such a personal preference and I am not sure that I dare to even say this, but there were perhaps too many spicy scenes for me. During some of them, I found myself skipping through and feeling like “okay but let’s get to the part where they talk about their feelings!” Truly to each their own and I am sure others will enjoy all of the scenes equally.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc of this book. I am absolutely OBSESSED with Paisley Hope, so when I saw this drop in my mailbox I screamed. Book 3 of The Silver Pines series, and it just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love the banter between Cole and Ginger, and I think they have taken top spot for my favorite characters in this series. I highly recommend this series to all my friends.

4.5⭐️

This was so good, I devoured the whole book in one sitting. The tension and relationship developments were well paced, and the book incorporated all the characters from the previous stand-alone books in the series.

I absolutely loved Ginger, she is sassy and sweet all at the same time. Her secret friendship with her best friend’s brother over the years is the best part and her relationship with Mabel went straight to my heart.

Wishing Paisley Hope had a bigger backlist for me to read!

I loved this book so much, I did not want it to end. Cole, Mabel and Ginger were the perfect trio. I kept setting my book down, not because I was bored or didn't like it. But because I didn't want their story to end. I definitely savored this one. I hadn't read the previous books, but I will def have to go back and do that now. The story flowed well and kept me interested every step of the way.

Riding the High - Paisley Hope

Available May 6th
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cole Ashby checks all of the boxes!! He is perfection in book boyfriend form. The back and forth banter of Ginger and Cole is the best. Getting to know their back story and the things they have been keeping from everyone else for a long time truly makes this story.
If you haven’t read the rest of the Silver Pines Series I highly recommend them all.
Thank you to Paisley Hope, NetGalley, and Random House Publishing Ballentine for allowing me the opportunity to read this ARC.

This book was cute! I love a friends to lovers trope, so this was right up my alley. This is my second book by Paisley Hope, and first from the Silver Pines series, and if you are a fan of small town, friends to lovers, and/or single dad I recommend! I really enjoyed it.

I was really enjoying this up until about 30% and then it had so many tropes thrown in and none of them particularly made sense. We had: Vegas wedding that has to be kept secret (for reasons that are very thin), secret friendship (again, for very thin reasons), single dad who asks his new wife to…be his nanny? So no one knows they’re married? But he doesn’t want any kind of scandal to upset his career? But he has her move in? Idk I feel like them just telling everyone they were married would have been much less of a scandal than jumping through 25 hoops to keep it a secret? It didn’t make sense.

this was a really cute single dad/accidental marriage/friends to lovers story. it felt like there were so many tropes but it somehow all worked together! though this one wasn’t my favorite in the series (I liked one of the other couples more) Cole and Ginger and even Mabel were so cute together and I was rooting for them from page 1! I would definitely recommend this one as part of this series. can’t wait for more from this author!

Paisley Hope and this book just became top three for me of 2025 and we’re only a handful of weeks into the new year. OH MY LORD was this book phenomenal. The tension, the friendship, the care & the family !!!!! This book truly has it all. If you haven’t started this series yet, now is the TIMEEEE. Cole & Ginger are such a deliciously sweet couple and their entire story had me kicking my feet. Not even exaggerating when I say this book was consumed in one sitting because I absolutely couldn’t put it down.

ALREADY cannot wait for the rest of the series and will be mourning it when it’s over. Thank you Paisley 🤠

This was adorable! So many good tropes: brother’s best friend, it’s always been you, single dad, Vegas wedding. The spice was smokin hot and well placed and paced without being gratuitous. Ginger and Cole were well developed characters and I’m so glad we got to experience more of the family dynamic.

Paisley Hope established her footing with this one and it’s my favorite book in the series so far!

Best friends older brother can go wrong pretty quickly. I love that these two had a friendship outside of his sister and their other friends.
Single dad and Sherriff, yes please. Add in an accidental marriage in Vegas and now we have to stay married on the down low, in the sane house and keep our hands to ourselves.
This argue writes a great sex scene. She also writes solid banter and pining.

Cole and Ginger - so glad you are here! This book follows Cole (CeCes brother) and Ginger (CeCes bestie). They have been friends, flirting partners, and now husband and wife. oops. These two have had banter going back and forth for years, sexual tension that could melt a roof, and while in Vegas, they drunkenly get married. The downside, is there are several reasons they cannot get a quickie divorce. To mitigate any suspensions, these two move in together under the assumption that Ginger will nanny Coles daughter for the summer.

I loved getting to know how close Cole and Ginger actually are as friends. I would say best friends. This is not something you get to know in the previous books. The tension between these two is hot but I love how many sweet gestures Cole does for Ginger and his daughter. I am a sucker for a single parents romance and this did not disappoint. Ginger and Mabel have such a sweet relationship and she will be the mom she needs.

Thank you NetGalley and Dell for this e-arc! I cannot wait for Cassies story!
