I was really looking forward to Riding the High—the small-town setting and single dad sheriff sounded like everything I love in a romance. It had all the right ingredients, but sadly, it just didn’t fully come together for me.
The story moved a little slow, and I struggled to stay hooked. I also didn’t feel much chemistry between Cole and Ginger, which made it hard to get emotionally invested. I was hoping for more spark and depth in their relationship.
That said, I think some readers who enjoy a slower-paced small-town romance might still connect with it more than I did. I’d give it around 2.5 stars—not bad, just not quite what I was hoping for.

I tried getting into the book but I didn’t really like the fact that immediately they already seemed into eachother and I was hoping for more buildup. Sadly it was just not for me.

I really enjoyed this book !! I’m such a sucker for a waking up married after weekend in Vegas !! And this book didn’t disappoint!!
Ginger and Cole have always had a connection since they were young . Getting to see some of the flashbacks to some of their moments meant everything to me … the mouth on Cole was truly insane !! that man is so hot !!
I really loved how paisley wrote Mabel she was just the cutest!!

I’ve been waiting for Cole’s story since the starting this series. I do wish there were fewer references to his past hookups, but overall this was a satisfying addition to the series.

Riding High is a total win—fun, flirty, and full of heart. Cole, the newly minted small-town sheriff, and Ginger, a congressman’s daughter with a rebellious streak, accidentally get hitched in Vegas after one too many drinks. What starts as a chaotic, keep-it-under-wraps situation quickly turns into something way more complicated (and way more fun to read about).
Their chemistry? Off the charts. The tension has been building since their earlier cameos in the series, and it finally gets the spotlight it deserves. Sparks fly, the banter snaps, and yes—the spice is very much there. Cole’s a single dad doing his best, and Ginger? She brings the sass, charm, and a whole lot of chaos to his carefully managed life.
Watching them try (and fail) to pretend it’s all temporary while navigating secret marriage life, co-parenting moments, and undeniable feelings was the perfect mix of swoon and steam. Mabel, Cole’s daughter, completely steals scenes, and the bond she forms with Ginger feels easy, natural, and genuinely sweet without trying too hard.
For me, this story is the standout of the Silver Pines Ranch series so far. If you’re into slow burns that finally ignite, sharp dialogue, and characters who are clearly meant for each other even when they try to deny it—this one’s for you.
Thank you @authorpaisleyhope, @dellromance Ballantine and @netgalley for the #gifted ebook. All opinions expressed are my own.

"Truth or dare?"
"Always a dare, Cole,"
God damn this book was GOOD! I’m not a friends to lovers girlie but geez Louise I loved Cole and Ginger from the jump! They were so cute and their relationship is pure sass and chaos which I loved!
“It feels as though it's just my luck that the universe would send me the man of my dreams when I was a teenager, only for me to marry him as an adult by accident and then start to fall in love with him.”
LAW DADDY COLE can get it! He’s so swoon worthy and I just loved his love for his daughter and family! The man has a heart of gold and needs to be protected at all costs! And ginger will protect him! I liked that this friends to lovers romance was filled with twists and turns for the pair and kept me so invested!
"It's been you for so fucking long, Ginger... you're the baseline I compared every woman to. You're the one I sought. I sought your attention, your sass, your fucking beautiful smile. Always.
I just love the Silver Pines Ranch series! I love how this found family group is forming and I’m so excited to see what’s next in Freeing the Wild. I CANT WAIT FOR OUR COWBOY POP STAR ROMANCE! bring on Cassie and Haden!
“I'm so fucking in love with this woman. In fact, the word love doesn't even cover it. How can you be only in love with someone who feels like they've been a part of you forever? Like you need them to breathe? Ginger has always been in my heart, but it's taken less than two months for her to sink into my bones and every goddamn nook and cranny of my soul.”

"I said, Ginger Lily Ashby. This letter, it's you," Cole says. "You turned my world upside down when you kissed me that summer. I spent the whole time at Grosvenor thinking about you, telling myself why it could never be."
Final Rating: 4.5⭐, 3🌶️
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was cute however pretty predictable. It was quick and easy read tho so if your looking for something to get your reading goal up this one could be for you.

After a reckless night in Vegas, sheriff Cole Ashby and political heiress Ginger Danforth wake up married. To protect their futures, they agree to keep the union secret—just until her father wins reelection and Cole secures his badge. But as passion ignites and lines blur, the lie becomes harder to tell… and even harder to leave behind.
Ohhh Silver Pines, how I’ve fallen in love with you. From CeCe’s heartfelt journey, to Wade’s steamy romance, and now Cole’s unforgettable forever—I’ve devoured this series and every love story within it.
From the moment Ginger and Cole shared a scene in Book 1, I was counting down the pages until we’d get their story. Their chemistry leapt off the page—the banter, the history, the heat. Watching them go from childhood acquaintances to that swoon-worthy Vegas wedding kiss was everything. I loved the accidental marriage plot—it was playful, romantic, and perfectly suited to their dynamic. And Cole… oh, Cole. Every time he said “my wife,” I melted. Their teasing, their spark, the way they leaned into their pretend marriage—it was pure joy to read.
The only thing that pulled me out was the timeline around Mabel. In Book 1, the time jump had her around 15. Then in Book 2, she’s suddenly back to being much younger, and again in Book 3, we’re back to little Mabel. It felt a bit like a time loop. Her dialogue and behavior sometimes skewed too young or too mature for her age, depending on the scene. I wish her character had aged consistently throughout the books.
Still, I devoured this one in a single day. I adore the Ashby boys, and I’m already counting down to the next story in Silver Pines!
“You’re mine, Ginger. You’ve always been mine.”

I always adore Paisley Hope’s writing, and I loved being back with these characters!!
I loved Ginger & Cole’s story!!
I’ve been waiting since the first book for these two to get together, and oh man 😫 they are everything. The tension and longing between them? You can feel how badly they’ve wanted each other for sooo long 🥹
Their nicknames were adorable—she called him Law Daddy (he’s a sheriff), and he called her Vixen ❤️
The “it’s always been you” vibes between them were absolute perfection!!
Cole’s daughter, Mabel, was sooo adorable—I loved how easily Ginger fit into their family. They were the perfect team.
I can’t wait for the next book!!

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!

This series just keeps getting better and better.
Cole and Ginger were everything. Mabel was the cutest!
HE CALLS HER VIXEN ***FAINTS***

I love this author so much. Cowboys are SO IN.
I will say I wish the two main characters wouldn’t have slept together as much to solve their problems. I still adored their story though.
I didn’t like that they were in their 30s sounding like they were much younger. Just slightly annoying in my opinion. But Cole’s jealously problems was HOT. Give me more jealously in books and my attention is CAUGHT.
I’m not excited to read the final two books in this series.

The writing was amazing! I love when I get to read the characters deep thoughts. The FMC and MMC are lifelong best friends and love to play truth or dare which leads to a rather interesting weekend in Vegas. They have a summer arrangement so Cole can get help with his daughter Mable and Ginger gladly helps him out. Things get very spicy and then the story becomes predictable but it was still so good!!

I love the Silver Pines ranch series, and I have been counting down the days until I could read Riding the High. Cole and Ginger always had such great chemistry and banter that I knew their story was going to be amazing!
Cole is the sheriff of Laurel Creek and a devoted single dad, but he’s also a total heartbreaker. Ginger is his little sister’s wild best friend who’s completely off limits. They’ve both always had feelings for each other, but ignored their attraction and instead settled for being really good friends. That all changes when they get drunk in Vegas and wake up the next morning married to each other. Neither an annulment nor a divorce is an option, so they agree to quietly stay married for 90 days while Ginger lives with Cole and acts as a nanny for his daughter Mabel.
They’re both afraid of ruining their friendship, but also desperate to have each other, and the tension was too good. There was so much banter, witty comebacks, and flirting, and I ate it up. Cole is sweet, thoughtful, the best dad ever, and has a dirty mouth. Law Daddy is a top contender for my favorite Paisley Hope man. I adore this series and can’t wait to see whose book we get next!
Thank you to Dell, Random House, Paisley Hope, and NetGalley for the ARC.

Okay, listen—I've been not-so-patiently waiting for Cole and Ginger’s story since book ONE, and whew, Paisley Hope did not come to play with Riding the High. Secret marriage? Yes, please. Banter that had me grinning like a fool? Check. Chemistry that could melt steel? Ohhh yeah.
Cole and Ginger were pure fire together—equal parts sass, heart, and unapologetic heat. Every scene had me kicking my feet and giggling or fanning myself. Sometimes both.
This book gave me everything I wanted and then some. I’m obsessed with the Silver Pines series, and this one just raised the bar. If you're not reading this series yet, what are you even doing?

"It's in this second that I swear to Christ, the sky opens up and what feels like lightening rains down on me. I'm so fucking in love with this woman. In fact, the word love doesn't even cover it. How can you be only in love with someone who feels like they've been a part of you forever. Like you need them to breathe?"
Cole and Ginger are EVERYTHING to me 😭 I have never been a friends to lovers girlie, it's not my preferred trope, but omg. Pair it with accidental drunk Vegas marriage, single dad, and best friends brother and that'll do it!!!!!!! I also love the found family in this series, and it grows stronger with each book! I want the Ashby family to adopt me lol. This is definitely Paisley's spiciest book in this series for sure, but it also had a lot of emotional depth and insight into the character relationships and dynamics. On that note, Mabel and Ginger's relationship was one of my favorite parts of the book. When the book involves children and the restructuring of a family dynamic around a child, I feel like it needs to handled with so much care and not just focusing on the romantic relationship, but also on the relationship between the new partner and the child. Paisley did this so incredibly well!
Every time I pick up one of these books it feels like coming home, and I can't wait for the next one!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED COLE AND GINGER!!
I knew from book one of Silver Pines, that Cole and Ginger had a thing, I mean it was obvious, right? I knew their story would be worth the wait.
Paisley Hope delivered. Their banter, the tension, the spice; how they knew each other so well from years of secretly being best friends. How they both pined for each other for years in secret! TOO GOOD!!!
Ginger is so relatable for me; she loves big, she is impulsive and she stands up for herself and those she loves the most.
Also, if something happens to Papa Dean in these books I will be in mourning right along with the characters. I love how he calls of the grandkids out on everything and you never know what will come out of his mouth. He's the best.
I can't wait to see more work from Paisley Hope!!

One thing about me, I'm always going to love a cowboy romance- especially if it's written by Paisley Hope!
Riding the High was yet another amazing cowboy romance that takes up back to Silver Pines.
Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read this.

4.5⭐️ this was everything I wanted from Cole and Ginger.
Ginger is a small town teacher with a free spirit and Cole is a single dad and newly elected Sheriff, and after a drunken night in Vegas, accidentally end up married. Now they’re back home and Cole needs a nanny for the summer, who else to do the job but his secret wife.
I LOOOOVE IT!!!
I don’t know what Miss Paisley is putting in these books but they’re so good and continue to get better.
Cole and Ginger have the perfect dynamic of friends to lovers but also the tried and true, single dad/nanny romance.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book before release

What happens in Vegas... will absolutely haunt your small-town political career and your chances at becoming sheriff. In the third steamy installment of the Silver Pines Ranch series, Riding the High ropes readers into a delightfully chaotic fake marriage between a buttoned-up congressman’s daughter and a single dad trying to play it cool as interim sheriff. Spoiler: he fails. Gloriously.
Ginger wants freedom. Cole wants stability. Vegas hands them a marriage license and a hangover. Forced into close quarters under a “let’s just pretend until it’s convenient” deal, their chemistry refuses to stay casual—and neither does their growing feelings.
Perfect for fans of cowboy softbois, secret marriages with very public consequences, and the slow, slow crumble of denial into full-blown heart eyes. If you like your romance with heat, heart, and high-stakes hijinks, saddle up. This one doesn’t miss.

Paisley Hope has done it again and has proven time and time again why she is an auto buy author for me!
Since this is book 3 in the series (but can be read as standalones) we have seen the tension between Ginger and Cole grow from book to book and I loved watching their story unfold!
In true Paisley hope fashion, there are heartfelt moments, banter and delicious spice and I ate this up in 24 hours and was so sad it was over!! I need book 4 ASAP!
Thank you to @netgalley for the Ebook thank you to @dellromance for the physical copy! This physical copy of the ARC is one of my most prized possessions and will forever be grateful to @dellromance for this amazing gift. I did wait until the audiobook was out so I could do the full immersive reading (because there is no other way to experience this book IMO) and WOW the audiobook gave me chills! @mallonerin and Thomas Oakley did an amazing job and really compliment each other. 10/10!
