3.5 stars.
A beautiful romance full of uplifting feelings and lots of magical moments, “Sunset”, by Sharon Sala, features two good-hearted people who have gone through hardship and finally find their HEA.
I loved the leads, their innate kindness, and the characters in general. It feels as Sonny and Maggie were destined to be together.
Sonny’s talent (magic?) with animals is an important dimension of his mystical personality, which contemplates other features. He’s also a hardened, pragmatical person, and all this facets result in an alluring hero.
Maggie is an interesting heroine, too: strong, sensitive, and with a secret talent, too.
In general, I appreciated a certain solemnty in the tone but some parts I found too melodramatic.
I also found the story and the dialogue a bit repetitive sometimes.
A pleasant read where fate plays an important part.

This book had a little suspense in it but it mainly followed 2 characters. It was set in a small town that I could easily picture. There were some interesting characters and it was an enjoyable book. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast and easy read. I love the fact that Sonny was protective over Maggie. I liked her actual name. I look forward to reading the next book that Sharon Sala writes. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

A nice quick read.
The main characters were intriguing and their connection was strong. The town and it's people were pleasantly full of chaos and drama.
I did struggle with the pace of the book but overall, it was a comforting small town cowboy romance. Always hits the spot.

Sunset is the first book in what I’m hoping will become a long running series. Sonny Bluejacket is an ex rodeo star who moves to Crossroads, TX after inheriting a ranch. He meets a local waitress, Magnolia, and something pulls them together. Before long they are falling for each other, but of course there are obstacles to overcome.
I have read all of Sharon Sala’s books, and I have to say that Sonny is probably my favorite male character she’s ever written. The story was fast paced but never felt rushed. I read it twice within the first two days. Books like this, authors like this, are why I love to read.

A cute romance between Sonny and Maggie set out in East Texas where the sunsets are beautiful. A lovely story of two people coming into their own, as well as their supporting family and adopted family.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

This book grabbed me from the start and I couldn’t put it down. I loved Sonny and Magnolia and their story. A little bit of suspense and a lot of love. I loved reading about the horses also. I didn’t want it to end and I was glad to see a hint about their future. I wish I had more stars to give. Loved it.

This book is pure small-town romance magic, the kind that wraps around you like a warm summer night and makes you believe in love all over again. Sonny and Maggie’s connection is instant, but what makes it shine is the slow, steady way their relationship deepens with trust, encouragement, and a quiet kind of devotion that feels so real. It’s a story about healing, about finding where you truly belong, and about love that stands its ground, even in the face of past demons. Absolutely charming.

I honestly couldn't help myself. I dug in as soon as I got this one and just now finished it. I couldn't wait to write my review for this one!
So very good and I believe that it's a good start to an awesome series? I hope so!
Sonny and Maggie were magnificent! I loved them both immediately.
Especially Sonny "sigh" Maggie hit gold when he found her. I love a good love story. He will be my new book boyfriend lol. My hero.
There's just a bit of suspense to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I love that about Sala.
She always knows how to keep her readers engaged throughout the story with some faith added in too.
There's always got to be one bad apple whether family or so called friends.
This one left my heart feeling full and satisfied. It will also be my favorite by Sala.
Love finds you in unexpected places and this one was no exception.
5 stars for a job well done! Excellent writing and for making this story realistic.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

Sunset by Sharon Sala is a gripping romantic suspense that keeps you hooked with its mix of danger and emotional depth. The characters are relatable, and the chemistry between the leads is strong. While the plot is engaging, it occasionally feels predictable, and some parts could have been more developed. Overall, it’s a solid read with just enough suspense to keep you interested. A 3.75-star—entertaining, with a few predictable moments but still enjoyable.

Sharon Sala once again delivers a compelling, heart-tugging story with Sunset, blending romance, suspense, and the deep emotions that come with love and second chances. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into the world of complex characters, small-town charm, and a narrative that keeps you invested until the very end.
One of the things I always appreciate about Sala’s writing is how effortlessly she balances emotional depth with an engaging plot. The characters in Sunset feel real—flawed yet endearing, strong yet vulnerable. Their journey, both individually and together, is written with so much heart that you can’t help but root for them. The romance is beautifully developed, never rushed, making every moment between them feel earned and genuine.
The suspense element adds an extra layer to the story, keeping the tension high and making it impossible to put the book down. Just when you think you know what’s coming, Sala throws in a twist that keeps you on your toes.
Overall, Sunset is a captivating, emotional read with a satisfying blend of love, resilience, and suspense. If you’re a fan of small-town romances with a dash of mystery, this one is a must-read.

Sunset by Sharon Sala. In the book Sunset you feel like you are really there and you can picture the characters and the scenery of the story. The horses are amazing.
