Nonfiction, Health, Mind & Body, Self-Help
The author begins by talking about her travels and move to Bhutan. I know of Bhutan as the happiest place on earth. She discusses the changes she had to make to adjust to living there where nothing is done in a hurry. She also says going to the bank could take hours just to cash a check. I love the tea ritual and plan on trying it tomorrow.
This book is about simplicity and how to acknowledge it in your life. We need less stuff and more happiness. She shows us in her writing that happiness cannot be found in buying or having things. It is a feeling we have within us. If you like books that are inspirational and makes you reevaluate your life, this is the book for you.

It's been a while since the last time I read non fiction book and I'm quite glad I started with this one.
Easy to relate, that's the first thing that comes to mind when I read this book. Not because I once live in Bhutan, no, but the way the author see things. Her perspective somehow relate to mine and in the end it made me nod my head.
Her easy "guide" such as being kind, smile more, or be patience, can be use in our daily life. Yet it's a struggle to her especially when she live in Bhutan. Her experience is packaged in a warm writing, inviting me to read more.
Look forward to read more of her books sometime soon!

The book is an interesting combination of the writer's experiences, a kind of memoir, and self-help. Her insights into the different approaches and thoughts on what happiness in America and Bhutan are not necessarily groundbreaking — deep down many of us know our habits are destructive, or at least not conducive to long-term happiness — but unlike many of us, the author has taken the time to assess her life and adjusted accordingly.
Her experiences are vividly depicted through her writing and even those of us who live far away get a taste of what living in Bhutan — or living in happiness — may be like.
